I probably wouldn't have noticed that spot at all if you hadn't pointed it out, but I definitely understand why you wanted to fix it and I'd probably have felt the same way myself. You did a great job on fixing that spot! I never would have thought of trying something like that; glad it worked out so well for you!

WOW! You are hot stuff, girlfriend!! :woohoo: I have two gathered bags and if I ever find a paunchy pleat I will definitely use your technique! Thanks for sharing this with us.

Wow!! Your bag looks perfect! I am so impressed with the results!! :yahoo: (and your bravery to try the technique in the first place!!) Thank you for sharing pics and your technique. If I ever have a gather come undone, I will know what to do. Such a gorgeous bag!!

Wow, the iron worked great!!! I know what you mean that the "regular" person probably wouldn't notice, but I can see where it would bug you/me. Coachies notice all those little things! I never would have thought to use an iron!
She's a beautiful bag - congratulations!!

I cant believe you found her at an outlet!!! Ive been searching my outlets weekly with no luck :( Fantastic job with the iron...I wonder if this trick will work on a bag whose pleats are kinda "flattened out" at the bottom?

Wow, what a trick! I've heard of washing in the washing machine, color dye and the like, but this is a first for me! I'm impressed with your bravery! If you were a man, I'd say you've got steel cojones for sure! :lolots:

I can't believe the iron worked! I really didn't notice the imperfection much, but I'm like you, so I know it would have made me crazy, too. It looks really good, though, and I'm so glad it worked out for you. Gorgeous bag, my friend!

thats great i am so happy for you.. glad the treatment worked,,,,

i wonder, would it work on me,,,,,,,,,,,,,LOL would love to get a few wrinkles out, too,lol

congrats on your new bag, its super dooper cool

happy dance time

omg proff, that is a brilliant idea!! i will try that if any of the gathers are coming apart on my own sophia, although i pray they wont!

Oh, I hope not but also doubt it (that you will need to use this idea on your bag). I'm thinking now that I have seen them put the blush gathered back on the web site that my bag may have gone to the outlet not as a delete but as a damaged return? At least I wonder if that's the case? Just glad I was able to repair her! And not pay PCE or FP for her, either!

WOOHOO Proff you did a beautiful job. I'm glad you were able to correct the problem. As it is said "necessity is the mother of invention" Thanks for sharing your great story, granny

Great quote! Thanks for your kind words.

OHHH nice work...you are so brave!! I would of been sweating for sure!!
Such a pretty bag too..can see why you love her so!
If I could ask, what fob is that you have on your Sophia?? Its really pretty!! :)

Thanks so much! The fob is one I bought on Ebay and it is a Swarovski crystal piece...the reverse side of the fob is plain silver with encrusted crystals shaping the border--and it opens into a locket as well. I have this in both the charcoal grey and in a salmon pink, too. Thanks for your kind comments!

Great idea! I personally keep my Gathered Sophia stored empty, on one side and with an Audrey on top of it...I find that the gathers usually "gather" back together. But yours works for a quick fix! :D

That is a really good idea for storing a gathered bag, to keep the gathers in place. Thanks for sharing!!!!

Thanks! This is why I love being a member of tpf--to find others who can relate to our "problems" that non purseaholics JUST do NOT understand!!!!;)
Wonderful fix! Now I want a gathered bag!!!

I am a huge fan of the gathered leather. By far my FAVE that Coach has ever made! Thanks so much!

Thanks, VS, for taking a peek and for your kind comments. How is your collection doing today?! Any bags that need a PT or FT "nanny" to watch over them this summer?!?!? If so, PM me!!!!:graucho::cool::graucho:

OMG, I would not even think to try that..I'd be too chicken!! But it really did come perfect looking after. Congrats on finding one that was more pink than peach also.

I cant believe you found her at an outlet!!! Ive been searching my outlets weekly with no luck :( Fantastic job with the iron...I wonder if this trick will work on a bag whose pleats are kinda "flattened out" at the bottom?

I think it would....I was really surprised at how easy it was to do this and how the results were so satisfactory. Just remember, no higher than a "wool" setting on your iron and a THICK not thin cotton piece or t-shirt on top of the bag....

Wow ! Congrats ! You took quite a chance with the iron but it paid off ! :smile1:

Thanks! I am very pleased with how it turned out!:smile1:
