After 27 yrs. of marriage, I would have castrated him myself...unless a person and their spouse are apart a lot of the time, how would you not know about something like this? I haven't walked in her shoes but I believe I would know something wasn't right.

While I do believe that he should be prosecuted and held accountable for his actions, I find it abhorant that his wife was allowed to record Therapy sessions and release this information to the public. I would not be surprised if she did this without his knowledge and/or consent, as he would have never been this open with her about this information. I do believe this will have ramifications in the counseling community if people feel like they do not have a safe or confidential place/person to talk to.

And yes, while he is a well-know actor by face, if not by name, I'm certain he will feel more of the wrath of the public and his professional community, than those who are MUCH more well-know (ie Woody Allen) and yet so fiercely protected and defended.
I agree and I expect we'll see the wife on some talk show (or more than one) garnering attention from this. I don't recognize her but apparently she's an actress.

This nasty side of Hwood is why I'm so disturbed by that "Lolita" image Ariana Grande is pushing. There's a reason shes so dead in the eyes. Heaven only knows what she's endured climbing that ladder to fame. It's a low key thumbs up to these predators that intend to continue what they're doing.

It feels odd to comment on what seems a total water cooler item of obviousnesss...Stephen Collins was the either hot spouse or father or most of my/others youth. He typically was placed in a role but rarely questioned his ability to lead/coerce adult (or close to adult) females into positions of scorn and derision related to relationships with his character. The problem for those of us who are old enough (mid 40s onwards) is that it wasn't just acting. He was (self-admitting) connecting to women and young girls in ways that were entirely inappopriate - his wife just found out two years ago and reported it. For anyone my age, Stephen Collins was always the predictable dad/spouse/good-looking bf society guy - he was the staple. so we would have said "never" re any mis behavior. Thank god this came out so now we know - anyone is suspect and we have to believe the victims. Casting isn't the only indicator.

Oh dear, he's written erotic novels…

From Library Journal
Actress Nicolette Stallings is a compulsive exhibitionist who in the throes of self-loathing manipulates men by leading them into sexual acts that feed her masochism. When she provides a night of uninhibited sexual fantasy for a man she picks up in a restaurant, he turns out to have more problems than she can handle, which plunges her into a frenzy of self-preservation. Teaming with memorable characters (first-time novelist Collins makes New York cabbies and doormen come alive in a few short sentences), the book is full of people who help Nick see herself for who she really is. Surviving visits to her analyst, an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, her mother's compulsive soup making, the desire to self-destruct, her need to expose herself, and her disastrous approach to her career, Nick learns to meet life one day at a time and could well become the Holden Caulfield of the 1990s. This novel of one individual coming to self-awareness is a modern morality play and a rite of passage into adulthood. Actor Collins, a gifted writer, has created a perfect first novel.

For the umpteenth time: Grande is a 21 year old woman!

If you really want to break it down the vast majority of pedophiles want/go after children who look like children.

So the wife says she was not involved in the leak, but who had possession of the tape?

WTF @ the erotic novels! Ew! Unnecessary.

She may well be twenty-one but the persona, the way she dresses, her choice of old men (or ones made to look like it) as her backup dancers - is certainly playing to the pedo fantasy.

Stephen Collins molestation story intensifies

Stephen Collins is alive and well, and still enduring the harsh glare of the spotlight in the wake of Monday's audio tape revelation that he molested at least three underage girls at some point in the past.

But things are getting uglier.

he 7th Heaven actor hasn't spoken or issued any statement, but his lawyer, Mark Kaplan, is pointing the finger at Faye Grant, the actor's estranged wife, as the source of the leaked tape.

Kaplan, who has not responded to USA TODAY's requests for comment, tells TMZ that Grant has been holding the tape over the actor's head as leverage to get money from him as their nasty divorce case drags on.

"Over the course of my representation of Stephen in the divorce case, Faye has repeatedly threatened to give this audio tape to the media unless Stephen agreed to pay her millions of dollars more than that to which she was legally entitled."

Divorce proceedings to end the 27-year marriage started in 2012. Grant, 57, starred on TV shows including V and State of Grace, and she co-starred with Collins in the 1996 TV movie, On Seventh Avenue.

Kaplan says Grant has attempted "to peddle the tape in numerous ways to numerous different people. It appears that she has finally found an audience for this tape — not surprisingly, on the eve of the trial in the divorce case where, again, she is seeking millions of dollars more than that to which she is legally entitled."

Grant issued a statement denying any involvement. "I had no involvement whatsoever with the release of the tape to the media."

But in divorce documents, she states that Collins was living a "secret life," engaging in a "long-term pattern of sexually abusing minor children, including sexually molesting three young girls over a decade ago."

As for the molestation, Kaplan says he'd like to address the audio confession but "the circumstances dictate that we must regrettably refrain from doing so at this time."

Reports flew Tuesday night that the beloved 7th Heaven actor, 67, had committed suicide. Los Angeles police went to his home, responding to a call, but he wasn't there. No one was hurt.

In the wake of the tape going public, Collins has been dropped from the upcoming movie Ted 2, and networks including UP and TVGN have pulled 7th Heaven reruns from their schedules.

Meanwhile, two 7th Heaven co-stars have spoken out about Collins. Catherine Hicks, who played Collins' wife on the show, was asked by a videographer about the news. "I have nothing to say, nothing to hide. Stephen's a good guy in my opinion," she said.

And Kyle Sears, who had a small role on the show, recalls nothing unusual on the set. "He was definitely a father figure to everyone," he tells TMZ.

This is why children should not work or be near the entertainment buisness because of monsters like Collins. What a monstrocity.

To think I grey up watching this man on 7th Heaven and thought highly of him....and they were so many kids in and out on that show....

^Think of the stories we've read about church leaders, scoutmasters, athletic coaches--all the activities our children were in, including school where the occasional teacher later was revealed to be a pedophile.

I truly don't know how we can protect our children except to become familiar with the adults in their lives and teaching them to recognize when adults cross boundaries and to say *NO*. Thank goodness our sons weren't molested by the teacher in their school, but undoubtedly some kids they knew were. There was also a local priest who was convicted of molestation--I shudder to think of all the children traumatized by him. They really are everywhere and we need to find effective ways to raise our kids to resist the *grooming* they do before the crime happens.

I am still reading the articles on this and what stuck out to me is that Stephen never preyed on any of the younger cast mates since pedophilia in the showbiz industry is disgustingly high. Stephen was never in a position of power so there for he chose victims closer to him that he would have more influence over as opposed to a producer who may prey on a 12 year old wanting a role on a Disney show. Oh and the parents who willingly let their children be prey for roles are just as sick. I never thought highly of him because I knew he was just playing a character, behind closed doors we have no clue what these people do and how they do it to get where they are.
