I recognise his face but not his work. Damn, this is terrible. poor children. The wife only released it after he filed for divorce. She should have done it immediately when she heard this so she may be just as bad IMO.

How long did his wife wait until police were involved...because it seems as if she waited until the divorce.
The reporting is poor. My understanding is that the police have opened an investigation since 2012 when she first became aware of it and the subsequent taped confessions came about as a result of her cooperating with the police in gathering the evidence

Well, I'm sure glad that he got his azz fired from the Ted 2 movie, because a good friend of mine's daughter will be in that movie (she's 13). I just sent him a text about this, and he told me that he would have pulled his daughter out of the move.

I do not understand how a person like this can live with himself/herself ...

I must have read it wrong because I thought that it was the first wife's relative who had reported that she had been molested by him.

No. I don't think you did. You know TMZ. I read elsewhere that when he confessed to the wife she went to the police and spoke to her lawyers. She then went about getting evidence and the police in LA opened an investigation which was closed because they could not identify any victims. That was back in 2012. She also came out and said today she did not release the tapes and has no idea how they became public as they were part of a highly sensitive police investigation she was assisting with.

She speaks about him refusing to have therapy to treat with his pedophilia and coming to the realisation that he didn't think he had a problem and giving up on him, but I'm not sure where in the timeline that is.

It also says she was approached by the husband of one of the victims in 2012 about the abuse...

Stephen Collins' Divorce Papers Detail Alleged Child Molestation Confession and Personality Disorder

E! News has obtained the 2012 divorce papers between 7th Heaven's Stephen Collins and Faye Grant, his wife of nearly 27 years.

In the documents, Grant explains how in January of that year she "learned for the first time that Stephen had been engaging in a long term pattern of sexually molesting children."

She added that Stephen "admitted that he had sexually molested three underage girls over a decade ago; at least two of the three girls were molested over the course of several years. At least one of the victims has filed a report with the New York City Special Victims Unit."
According to her declaration, Grant claims that her ex's therapist had relayed the information to her and explained that he has "narcissistic personality disorder with sociopathic tendencies."

"Obviously I am sickened by Stephen's actions. I have spent the past 20 months coping with the trauma of learning about Stephen's illness and worrying about my moral and legal responsibility," Faye stated in the filings.

"I have urged Stephen multiple times to seek proper treatment for pedophilia. I am particularly afraid of what may happen if he does not seek treatment, because he may be working or interacting with children in connection with his employment."

Faye also shared that in December 2012, she had received two letters from a man who identified himself as the husband of one of Stephen's three victims.

She claimed that the man "berated me for my cowardice" for not turning her husband at the time into the authorities.

The man, according to Faye, also threatened to bring a civil lawsuit against her for Stephen's actions.

As a precautionary measure at the time, Faye was "seeking to bifurcate the issue of Stephen's liability, such that Stephen will be held solely liable for his sexual assaults and ordered to indemnify, pay and hold Faye harmless in the event that she is damage by his tortious and/or criminal conduct."

Earlier today, an audio tape was released by TMZ with what appears to be the 67-year-old actor confessing to molesting and exposing himself to three girls under the age of 14.
Stephen and Faye have one daughter together, Kate Collins, who was born in 1989.

Something did always seem really off about this guy, has anyone ever seen some of his Lifetime movies, especially the ones where he plays the bad guy which was pretty much all of them, he always seemed to enjoy himself too much and he is a great actor and he really played these roles like maybe too well. One movie that sticks out in my mind is "The BabySitters Seduction" he played a married father who killed his wife and starts sleeping with the babysitter. He just creeped me out just the way he acted, like he was really that way in real life. I never pictured him the fatherly type just because he played the good Pastor on TV guess cause I've seen him in so many roles where he just enjoyed played bad

I just recently watched that movie and was also creeped out and such a different role than on 7th Heaven. Hope he gets the help he needs and those poor Victims I just can't imagine.

Stephen Collins Wife Says He's a Pedophile Who Refuses to Get Help

10/7/2014 1:09 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

EXCLUSIVE

Stephen Collins is a pedophile with a "long term pattern of sexually molesting children" ... this according to Collins' wife.

In the 2014 divorce docs -- obtained by TMZ -- Faye Grant claims Collins "admitted that he had sexually molested 3 underage girls over a decade ago: At least two of these girls were molested over the course of several years."

Grant says in a declaration, she is "sickened by Stephen's actions." She says, "I have urged Stephen multiple times to seek treatment for pedophilia, but "he has refused to seek proper help or hospitalization for the predilection toward children."

Grant asked the judge to declare that any legal liability Collins might have would not come out of her pocket. She says she had no knowledge "of Stephen's secret life prior to January 2012."

'7th Heaven' Stars We Never Saw Signs 'Stephen's A Good Guy'

10/7/2014 1:40 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Just like a scene from "7th Heaven" ... Stephen Collins' TV family is standing by him in the wake of his child molestation confession.

Collins' TV wife, Catherine Hicks, had high praise, saying Collins has always been a good guy.

Kyle Searles -- who had a recurring role on the show -- said on TMZ Live ... he's shocked and confused by our story ... because Stephen was the ultimate father figure on the set.

Both say they saw nothing during production that raised suspicions.

Stephen Collins Life Imitates Art Child Molester Themes Abound

10/7/2014 1:30 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Stephen Collins' vast acting career was sure to touch on the topic of child molestation ... but looking at these clips now ... it's just plain creepy.

An episode of "7th Heaven" that aired on May 1, 2000 dealt with child molestation -- Here's the description of the show: "Rev. Camden counsels a sexually molested girl to help her express the rage and pain she has been hiding from her family."

In the scene the girl reluctantly admits to Collins' character the bad things that happened to her.

Meanwhile, in the fantastically awful 1996 Lifetime movie "The Babysitter's Seduction," Collins sleeps with his teenage babysitter (played by a 19-year-old Keri Russell) after his wife dies (he might have killed her, we didn't watch the whole thing).

Collins also appeared in an episode of "Law & Order: SVU" in 2008 ... which might be the most ironic part of his career.

Stephen Collins Woman Tells Cops He Dropped His Towel and Molested Her

10/7/2014 12:00 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

EXCLUSIVE
1007-stephen-collins-tmz-11.jpg

The woman who triggered the NYPD Stephen Collins child molestation investigation told detectives ... the actor had an M.O. -- which began with wandering into her bedroom with only a towel around him.

TMZ broke the story ... Collins admitted on tape to molesting and/or exposing himself to 3 young girls ... one of whom was related to his first wife. According to sources present during the police interview ... the woman claims when she was 10 she would sometimes stay with Stephen and his wife at their NYC apartment.

She told cops ... she would sleep in the guest room and Stephen would come in after showering, wearing only a towel. She claims he would then expose himself and several times put her hand on his penis. She says he would also touch and rub on her.

The woman claims she would often thwart Collins' overtures by pretending to be asleep.

We're told the woman says in the '90s she was watching TV with her husband and saw Collins on the screen, and then told her husband for the first time Collins had molested her.

We're also told in 2000 the woman contacted Collins' current wife, Faye Grant, by sending her an anonymous letter warning her that her husband was a child molester.

Nothing happened for 12 years. Then, in late 2011 ... Grant reached out to the woman, after Collins told his wife about the sexual contact, and the girls with whom it had occurred with.

Grant sent the woman an email -- obtained by TMZ -- in which she says, "Stephen lied when confronted 12 years ago. He said he had a hole in his holey jeans, as was the style then, and you 'must have' seen his genitalia one time."

Grant goes on, "Stephen is not remorseful, shows no guilt, and his shame is demonstrated as extreme self pity. He wails and cries, 'I'm in so much paaaaaain!!!'"

We know the woman says she will cooperate with law enforcement in the investigation.

While I do believe that he should be prosecuted and held accountable for his actions, I find it abhorant that his wife was allowed to record Therapy sessions and release this information to the public. I would not be surprised if she did this without his knowledge and/or consent, as he would have never been this open with her about this information. I do believe this will have ramifications in the counseling community if people feel like they do not have a safe or confidential place/person to talk to.

And yes, while he is a well-know actor by face, if not by name, I'm certain he will feel more of the wrath of the public and his professional community, than those who are MUCH more well-know (ie Woody Allen) and yet so fiercely protected and defended.
