This whole thing is disturbing and confusing. What the heck has been going on for two years? If it was part of their 2012 divorce proceedings, how did they manage to keep it quiet for two years? Divorce papers aren't normally sealed, and from what's been reported, it was included in her initial petition for divorce. As far as the recording goes, I guess under California law, its legal to record someone - even in therapy - to gather evidence of a crime. I just don't understand the purpose of her recordings if she never intended on releasing them - and is now claiming she has no idea how TMZ obtained those audio recordings - so why did she record him in the first place? Was it a form of blackmail for a better settlement? I don't get it. I also heard that LA police opened an investigation in 2010 or 2012, but it was closed due to a lack of evidence. I suspect there's way more to this story than being reported today.

I'm glad it came to light. He was immediately pulled from Ted 2, a film where he would come into contact with kids.

Legal hoo-ha aside, that's a positive. He's identified as an offender and people will be rightly wary of him.

All of this.

While I do believe that he should be prosecuted and held accountable for his actions, I find it abhorant that his wife was allowed to record Therapy sessions and release this information to the public. I would not be surprised if she did this without his knowledge and/or consent, as he would have never been this open with her about this information. I do believe this will have ramifications in the counseling community if people feel like they do not have a safe or confidential place/person to talk to.

And yes, while he is a well-know actor by face, if not by name, I'm certain he will feel more of the wrath of the public and his professional community, than those who are MUCH more well-know (ie Woody Allen) and yet so fiercely protected and defended.
Well said and very true

Well I am not surprised! We have had two instances from Aussie celebrities. One sitcom from the 80s called Hey Dad. The father on the show he had exposed himself to a few girls and particularly his tv daughter she came out about it a few years ago. He is in jail now. Also tv entertainer Rolfe Harris. Bloody shocking but not surprising! He in jail too

The father on Hey Dad, Robert Hughes didnt only expose himself, he sexually abused many young girls, his young co-star and children of his friends.

I have to wonder if many others knew and didn't say or do anything. Pedophiles don't change--they must be locked up. Locally a man accused of this crime bonded out and within a week was arrested again on a similar charge. I doubt if they can change.

I used to watch this show--this makes me ill.

Another truly disturbing aspect of all this is that I doubt it was only 3 victims over all these years. Not with the kind of access to kids he had and the fact he would have thought he was getting away with it.

It makes me feel ill to think of it.

^^^^I wonder if mandated reporting laws applied here for this therapist that heard him admit to perpetrating abuse in the past and knowing there may be potentially new victims?

I agree with everyone, but another disturbing and sickening thought is finding out the person you married is a pedophile..And, I do not believe it was only three children he molested.
