^especially one who posted on another thread (if I recall correctly) that she was looking for info on how to tell an authentic Birkin from fake before buying from a reseller...yet is so confident that this seller sells only authentic...:thinkin:

bomb....dear bomb....

We all have our different buying and bag researching styles, our different abilities to look at a bag and gauge authenticity, and our different abilities to look at feedback and draw reasonable conclusions. And different abilities to learn from experience.

I am going to make a gentle suggestion. Given the bags that you have brought to our attention over a period of time, I find myself worried about what seems like the lack of a good learning curve and the presence of a little shopping naivete.

Sometimes there are people who clearly would be happiest--and SAFEST--buying from boutiques. I think you should consider the latter. It is not impossible finding some of the basic styles that you are seeking, and you (and we!) could sleep at night. Best wishes in your search!

I only have a second but I wanted to make a quick comment about the seller. This is one of a number of stores that sell merchandise for others. Their volume is high and their items very diverse. I have seen very good bags come from isoldit stores, and I have seen a few fakes.

If they sell a bag that is not good, it is not by intent. They simply do not have the level of expertise to understand Hermes products in detail.

I communicated once with an isoldit store that was selling something not good. They had been very convinced by the consignor's story about how it was acquired and about the accompanying paperwork--the "receipt" and so on,

There are a number of these around the country. Some are more sophisticated and knowledgeable about H products, and have reliable good consignors. Even in the latter case I have seen real mistakes about leather or color or size identification.

These can be fine sources of good bags. They can also be victims of unscrupulous consignors who may count on their lack of great expertise and who hope to use them to move a bad bag. The latter is not the norm, but it can happen.

Anytime you feel uncertain about the authenticity of a bag coming from any large-scale reseller like this, you can bring it here for a check. You should also feel comfortable with the seller's customer service history and be confident their policies easily allow the return of a mis-described bag.

Hi - just wanted to provide a late update, as I hadn't had a chance to drive up to H since receiving this over a week ago, that this red JPG shoulder to my relief checked out well. Thank you again Perigord for your two cents on this franchise.

I am also posting this because this seller (iSoldIt from Gaithersburg, MD) also sold a brand new Gold 30 cm (and he said they were from the same owner) so I'm not sure if that was bought by a TPF member but in case it was, I'm including further info/history on the seller.

Btw, FYI, these are franchises, so they're all individually owned and operated under one brand. So there might be some inconsistencies, as Perigord has noted.

MOD NOTE: Here is the listing and seller name
Happy Thursday everyone -
I should have probably posted this before I won the auction... But there wasn't enough time... Could you please look at this and let me know your thoughts?

Item: Hermes 42 JPG Birkin Rouge H Clemence
Seller: isoldit.md0118

Comments: The seller also sold a 30 cm Gold Togo Birkin yesterday, in case that helps. The seller said they are both from the same owner.

Thank you all in advance - you guys are the BEST.

May I jump in here to also ask why not check out some of the reputable resellers? If you are looking for a Black Birkin some of them have them available and under retail :shrugs:
Just lurking and was trying to help :shame:

Comments:I did a search for the seller and someone here asked about the bag at the end of February but there was not a response. It looks like this sold about a week and 1/2 ago and then was relisted. Thank you for any help.

i'd like better photos, but i do believe this is authentic.

Comments: Can I trouble the ladies to verify authenticity please based on the existing pictures provided? If it is not possible due to the limitation in pics, I'll still appreciate the time taken. Thanks much in advance!

i don't see anything wrong in the photos provided, but they're not sufficient for me to say unequivocally that it's authentic.
