About the bag :
I think the bag is authentic.
It is not a 35, but a 32.
If blinstamp is a U (can't see from the blurry picture) , the bag is from 1991, not 1995 as stated by the seller.

About the seller :
Not sure if they know what they are doing....
I think you should establish clear communication and get all your questions answered, before making any buying decision.

re; CRAFTSMAN STAMP - DATING BY LETTER IN SQUARE:

I read on a recent posting, that "U" denotes the year 1991....so counting on, the letter "Z" would mean 1996? Was a Paris Bombay really already made in 1996? I thought this is a much more recent bag..

Any answers, please?

First of all a warm welcome to tpf. I do apreciate members doing their homework, and you obviously are one of those.

You derserve to be given some infos at this point.

The Himalaya Birkin were made in reasonalble quantities and still are in production. (I belive in a few dozens so far)

There are bags with diamond and white solid gold hardware ( priced around $200K) and bags with plain palladium hardware. Those come in 30cm and 25 cm available at stores for VIP clients, and 35 only on special order for VVIP clients.

Victoria Beckham was seen with a diamond hdw one.
There are several members here who own that very bag, and several others who own the plain hardware one.
So by no mean this bag was made in 8 copies...

As for the sellers you are refering to, they are respected professional who have served many clients (some of them are members here)....No need to report them !

It is a much more recent bag, you are perfectly right.

I think the stamp might be a K....or even a H since it is very faded( that happens easily with box leather) it is quite possible, and that would be consistant with the bag itself.

I believe the bag is authentic and the seller is just trying to sell it without getting involved in the Hermes thing YKWIM? they did not even call it Paris-Bombay, but just Bombay. My feeling is that they do not care that much about Hermes, and most probably the consignee does not care about how much $$$ they will get from the bag.

Authenic, huge , worn and SUPER HEAVY. Priced accordingly.
If you like a faulous travel bag, that one will make your day.....after a service at Hermes.

I would also be interested in what others think of this. I love the idea of a raisin massai, but have stayed away because the seller does not seem at all knowledgeable--pictures aren't great, and she calls it black in part of her description. I'm also not sure that it's togo--clemence seems more likely.

Thanks for your concern CobaltBlue, and for your StarTrek faces Flossy, I did wear my bullet-proof vest and I was at least 50 cm taller than the seller, if that helps to digest my crazy adventure ;o)

(ok, the vest is a lie)
