I went to the boutique yesterday for my appointment and my SA said they had one left — I couldn’t pass it up. It looks so much more shiny and almost opalescent in person. Photos don’t do it justice! As far as feel, there is definitely a texture to the bag. It isn’t smooth and agree with other users’ opinion that it feels a little scaly. This won’t be an every day bag for me but a fun bag to bring out on special occasions!

PS:
my boutique hadn’t gotten any other leather goods in with this material (e.g. the WOC or pouch) but they said they’re expecting them soon. It will be interesting to see how this material works on a WOC - it’s a tad bit stiffer so I wonder if crease wear will be an issue!

I can't believe a not-so-good-looking rainbow mini reissue is going for over 6k https://www.fashionphile.com/chanel...ilted-255-reissue-mini-flap-multicolor-536060

Wow the price is ridiculous! I don’t think the colors are too bad but I cannot get over the price. I hope who ever sold it got more than what they paid for because fashionphile inflated the price so much! Shocked.

Besides that, I love looking at everyone’s rainbow reissue. They all look beautiful and unique. I wish I could make it work with my wardrobe, but in terms of color I’m pretty neutral so I’ll just admire everyone’s from afar.

I got the same response from a boutique manager! You do wonder why they’re being so truthful as they are trying to sell but I’m glad they’re honest about it.

Possibly a disclaimer to protect themselves if customers want a refund or demand repair once the bag shows wear and tear? Where I live “Care tips advised” is printed on the receipt.
Hopefully this leather has been specially treated (like how leather feel after re-dyed) and hence ‘repairable’ by repeating the process. However I would hesitate getting it not knowing if Chanel will service it.

for me I think the bag is more durable then you would assume looking at it ( it does look very wrinkly:P). The winkles for me adds to the uniqueness of the bag because those winkles really reflect lights and it makes the bags shine have a really fun texture, it's hard to tell from photo how nice it looks you really need to go see it in person. to the touch it definitely feel like they had treated the leather and had put a metallic coat over the leather. When it comes to flaking, I think only time will tell, so far I haven't had any issue with that when I brought it out.
here's something I figured I'd share it might be useful in case you did decide to get it. I did buy two rainbow reissue One had 1 super tiny hairline scratch exposing the leather and the other had a tiny spot without coating. Both did not have leather damage. All I did was use a bit of chrome nail powder in the same shade to cover them up and it was like those defects were never there !
I'm going to try to use them as much as I can, I'm super happy to have them in my collection and I know if the coating rubbs off in some part it's easy to fix ( I used chrome nail powder, rubbed it on very gently on the missing spot, then used acrylic finisher( for leather) from angelus to seal it)

here's a before and afterView attachment 4800123

I bought them both knowing they both have tiny defects, I usually don't do this but since I knew I can fix it myself i had to get them since it's not easy to get them here , but I have no regrets!ps. i also asked the SA about sending it to chanel for repair and they said it could take a lonnnng time just to see if they CAN fix it so that was not an option .

both bags together:love:

Would you mind showing the products that you used to fix the hairlines? I think I found a few on mine, and not if sure it was cracked leather or not, now I am not so happy about it. Thank you.

The bag I tried on already had a spot being rubbed off. I asked my SA and she said this metallic coating’s not repairable.

This question is for the owners of the rainbow mini bags - so I have had my bag for a few days now, it seems like my bag has two different leather textures, the top flap is more like caviar, and the bottom is more the crinkle leather. Is there anyone out there also has two different leather textures on this bag? I’m just curious to know as there have been many discussions regarding the leather texture of this bag. Thank you!
Yeah I have the same, except it's the button of my bag that's like c
I'm impatiently/excitedly waiting for mine to arrive on Tuesday! For those who've gotten theirs, do you find there's a glaze overtop of the metallic on the flap, or is it more "exposed"? I've been watching all the YouTube videos and one or two people say it seems smooth, but several say it feels more like gold flake that's been applied (i.e. could flake quite easily)...
From what I saw form mine that had a tiny area missing, it feels like they had glazed over the leather with some short of coating on top of that is a layer of metalic coating, so two layers it seems. The metalic coating is indeed smooth other then when you go over the winkles:P
Once you get it you can see how you like it!

I bought some chrome nail powder off amazon , depending on which area you need to cover up , you'll have to mix the powder to get a close shade, also test it on something before you apply because the powder won't be coming off the leather, I went in with very light layers. I have to say though, scratches are harder to cover up, still working on it.heres what mine look like,it's only visible if you really look at the closely in certain angles. The wrinkles are pretty good at hiding it in general.IMG_20200727_003620.jpg

What brand of chrome nail powder did you use & in what color? I would have never thought to do that but it worked beautifully! My bag has no flaws but i bought it to use it so i know over time there will be wear and it would great if i could keep it looking perfect on my own
I just searched on Amazon and bought a bundle with lots of colors , for my bag I mixed a bit of gold with red powder and I tested it before applying it, it goes on best with my finger than the applicator it came with. Though I have to say the powder once applyed don't really come off so I had to be extra careful. Hopefully you won't have to resort to this but at least you can have fun using them on your nails in the main time! :amuse:

Mine will also arrive on Tuesday! Can’t wait to see what the colour spread looks like!

Thank you for your reply. I searched the chrome nail powder on amazon, and the selection is overwhelming!! Did you order metallic or holographic or iridescent? I will also be taking a few pics and send them to my SAs to see what they say. Thank you for your help!
