I think this is my favorite color spread I have seen so far
I think this is my favorite color spread I have seen so far![]()
Love this, teal and purple looked really nice together
What brand of chrome nail powder did you use & in what color? I would have never thought to do that but it worked beautifully! My bag has no flaws but i bought it to use it so i know over time there will be wear and it would great if i could keep it looking perfect on my ownfor me I think the bag is more durable then you would assume looking at it ( it does look very wrinkly). The winkles for me adds to the uniqueness of the bag because those winkles really reflect lights and it makes the bags shine have a really fun texture, it's hard to tell from photo how nice it looks you really need to go see it in person. to the touch it definitely feel like they had treated the leather and had put a metallic coat over the leather. When it comes to flaking, I think only time will tell, so far I haven't had any issue with that when I brought it out.
here's something I figured I'd share it might be useful in case you did decide to get it. I did buy two rainbow reissue One had 1 super tiny hairline scratch exposing the leather and the other had a tiny spot without coating. Both did not have leather damage. All I did was use a bit of chrome nail powder in the same shade to cover them up and it was like those defects were never there !
I'm going to try to use them as much as I can, I'm super happy to have them in my collection and I know if the coating rubbs off in some part it's easy to fix ( I used chrome nail powder, rubbed it on very gently on the missing spot, then used acrylic finisher( for leather) from angelus to seal it)
here's a before and afterView attachment 4800123
I bought them both knowing they both have tiny defects, I usually don't do this but since I knew I can fix it myself i had to get them since it's not easy to get them here , but I have no regrets!ps. i also asked the SA about sending it to chanel for repair and they said it could take a lonnnng time just to see if they CAN fix it so that was not an option .
both bags together

Exactly my thoughts!!!!! What I wanted to share with my last post was that the rainbow bag was a photography beauty but in real life the leather felt like a piece of “ hard shell “ with lots of wrinkle bumps. It just didn’t feel like leather to me.Completely agree, after much deliberating from photos I saw it in person this week and felt that the surface was quite dry. The manager in the boutique who was serving me at the time also said that this bag would have to be treated with care and not overly used to protect it. I feel that over time rubbing or peeling could occur. As much as I love and admire this bag I will be doing it from afar.
Gorgeous, given that they managed to "only" use the pink and blue on the front. Absolute keeper
Love this colour spread.

The normal Chanel metallic is still soft to touch even with a layer of coating. Not to mention the soft and understated normal distressed calfskin used for normal reissues.
Personally I’d like my bags to be a pleasant to touch while using them. That’s the beauty of luxury leather and why I am spending so much money on them. For bags that looks beautiful I will only be an admirer from afar because only the owners know how the leather feels when using.
Just share my personal opinion. No offence to anyone who loves this bag. This is one bag you need to see it in person to decide. I personally suggest do not buy it remotely and do not buy to the hype. There’s always a must have bag every Chanel season
I too loved the runway version so much and had been waiting anxiously. That one looked like smooth metallic leather.I’d really been wanting this bag for months and then I started to get a headache because there are so many combinations and I fear that I’d never find my ‘Perfect’ one! I know people in this thread had reported that the leather was dry early on but I wanted to see it for myself. I own a metallic WoC and there is a coating over the top which makes it smooth to touch. Had the leather on the rainbow reissue had a protective coating I probably would have bought it. But I feel that without any coating I wouldn’t use it as much. It would be an expensive accessory I wouldn’t reach for because I’d worry about it getting damaged.
Early photos on the runway show a completely different texture to the leather which they must have changed in production but this was a bag being produced in a pandemic.
I love seeing all the ones people are finding and they’re so beautiful to look at but it’s just not for me. There is always a bag I’ll want, you never know there could be another rainbow in the future!
I agree with that, Alot of bags ive passed in the past and returned because of imperfections ( mostly because I didn't love them enough). I guess with this, my desire to have them in my collection outweighs that. I'm Big fan of color and unique colorwaysDoes it not bother you that you purchased these expensive pieces and then have to do a bit of DIY to repair them? Surely we should be getting them in pristine condition?
I got the same response from a boutique manager! You do wonder why they’re being so truthful as they are trying to sell but I’m glad they’re honest about it.I too loved the runway version so much and had been waiting anxiously. That one looked like smooth metallic leather.
I asked my SA if the metallic coating would be rubbed off easily while I was trying on the bag. This was her exact response: “Once you start using it, yes...”
yes! Mine is exactly same! This question is for the owners of the rainbow mini bags - so I have had my bag for a few days now, it seems like my bag has two different leather textures, the top flap is more like caviar, and the bottom is more the crinkle leather. Is there anyone out there also has two different leather textures on this bag? I’m just curious to know as there have been many discussions regarding the leather texture of this bag. Thank you!
