I am not at my best so I know I am not looking great. It's cold here, and I've been under the weather literally too. I am wearing long coats with jackets and jumpers under. I probably look like a hobo but apart from last Thursday when I braved work (Liberty x Apple laptop case and Hermes Evie) I'm only going out for a walk, for food or to the chemist. I spent £40-ish just on cold medicine and vitamins.

This weekend and today I've carried my smokey teal-blue Gucci python Catherine and my red goatskin Aphrodite. Both haven't had trips for a while.

It's London Fashion Week from Thursday and it's part of my job to show my face at various events. I seriously need to get well and up my game. I am not feeling very sociable atm but I need to be. Thursday I will do the cynical, jaded, urban, anti-fashion look  . Carry my silver Bal Le City, vintage Maison Margiela jumper, Rick Owens leather jacket, grey denim jeans and silver Saint Laurent sunglasses so no-one can see my eyes watering all the time.

What do you wear when you're in an anti-fashion/beauty mood?

I'm sorry you're not feeling well. Get better soon!

If I'm not feeling well but have to go out and socialize, I usually go for a more casual chic look.
Heeled boots (I still love wearing some sort of heel) for more stability.
Pants that are either flowy with some sort of stretch or jeans with some sort of stretch. I'm okay with structure as long as there is some flexibility/give in the fabric.
I really like my Alexander Wang shorts with a stretchy waistsband. I know he's controversial but those shorts are my go to comfy shorts while still looking put together. That way I don't have to worry about feeling uncomfortable with a constricting belt or something. If I go with shorts, then it's paired with tights or leggings.
A nice relax-fit turtleneck or cardigan, or cardigan over turtleneck depending on how cold it is. And then either an oversized blazer, bomber jacket or long coat over the whole look.

Like you said, sunglasses for tired eyes.
Maybe a cap if you're okay with wearing a cap indoors. Or some kind of hat (bucket hat or beanie) if you don't want to deal with your hair or put any effort into doing something with your hair. I'd love to put my hair in a slick bun like the cool girls but I have eczema on the nape of my neck and it's not cute when the weather is cold and dry.

Seeing the mention of your H Chocolate Plume 28 makes my heart race. I love the look of that size.

@880, “I love some pieces so much that if I wear them only rarely, but enjoy, it may be worth it to me to allot them space in my wardrobe.”

I remember you said something like this the last time I did a big purge of my bags, and it was so enlightening! Thank you, it stuck with me.
Thank you @More bags . TPF has helped me figure out how to curate. I have always admired the way you choose your pieces so thoughtfully

Your outfit is right up my alley. That's the 'feel' I want. My now vintage Rick Owens leather jacket is both comfort-blanket and empowering. Wearing vintage is going to be better than wearing my new SLP suit. I think it's more about me getting through the week than scoring fashion points.

You're right, I haven't washed my hair since I caught 'whatever it is' I caught. I am totally fine wearing a hat indoors. I can put my hair underneath.

I'm sorry to hear about your eczema. I had a stubborn patch on my face for a very long time, I can empathise.

I received a quote from AFF on my black Jimmy Choo Raven Hobo. This is the only quote I’ve gotten from her that’s disappointing. Not because I think it's unfair - I think she’s right on the market value. I just “feel” like it should be worth more.

My choices are to consign for that reasonable (low) price or go into a second year of having it listed. Obviously it makes sense to accept reality but sometimes truth is a hard pill to swallow. :shrugs: I think I’m just frustrated because I tried sooooo hard to make that darned little black hole of a bag work. Oh well.

Now, what’s possibly on the chopping block is one or both of these wallets that I bought last year. Dior Envolee in rose beige with a taupe interior and Dior black lambskin cannage wallet.

I really only use one wallet 90% of the time (the other 10% is a swap to a card case or WOC) because while I love changing bags, I haaaaaaate changing wallets. So, since I haven’t even looked at these since I purchased them, I wonder if they should go.

I’m not crazy about the beige color. I bought it because the wallet I currently use and love is the same model but in black w/pink interior.

I do like the black quilted one but wonder if a lamb wallet is practical (i don’t baby my wallet. It goes in the bag where it’s survival of the fittest.)

Pondering what to do with wallets makes me curious. Do you have a large wallet collection that you change out daily? Do you find lambskin to be durable enough for a wallet? What are your “rules” for your wallet collection.
I would imagine that the cannage wallet will sell easier and for more money as it is obviously Dior. I have a Chanel lambskin coin purse from the 90s that I have carried for years and it still is in great condition. I think inside a purse lambskin is fairly protected so I don't see it as being impractical.

When I first joined the forum, I favored long accordion style wallets that held everything. I would often buy a wallet to match a particular purse. I enjoyed having everything matching. Then I got lazy and decided it was too much trouble to change wallets so often, especially as there was the danger of leaving something important in the previous wallet. After that, I started carrying some smaller bags that wouldn't hold the long wallets so I got a smaller one. I realized that one of the things I loved about the accordion wallet was that I could leave it in my bag and just reach in to get what I needed. Smaller wallets that have the capacity of a long wallet generally unfold so you have to pull them out and unfold them to reach your paper money. A little while later, I started using the system I use now.

Coins in my coin purse (I never liked the way coins stained the pockets of wallets, especially if they were light colored. My Chanel coin purse is black leather lined so no visible staining.)

A card case that fits my DL, important cards, insurance. If the purse has an inside pocket, I put the card case in the pocket so it is easy to reach. My current card case has a pocket on the outside I use for my major credit card so I don't even have to remove the card case from the purse in order to get to it.

A larger case for cash and extra cards. Sometimes the case I use is smaller and I have to fold cash, other times I have a longer case so I don't have to fold it. It doesn't bother me to have it folded as much as it used to since I rarely use cash anymore.

I have more card cases and wallets than I need. They never seem to wear out. I change about once a year. Some of them are so cute or pretty that I love them too much to get rid of them.

I like wallets too but I find that having only one works for me. I'm currently using a vintage Louis Vuitton black epi pocket organizer. The only problem with it is that there are no spaces for cash. I do carry around a separate pouch for odds and ends which is where I put cash in if necessary. Sometimes clients pay me in cash but a full length wallet isn't something I'd use often. I would like to purchase a Louis Vuitton round coin purse at some point but I'd purchase it second hand.

I still love the Alexander Wang Kori boots. I'd never support his brand directly but I agree that he has some nice pieces. This is another reason why secondhand shopping is the best!

Tunic : Alembika.
Handbag : Issey Miyake Bao Bao.
Boots : Alexander Wang
Leggings : Lululemon.

Please feel better soon..❤️❤️❤️

I’ll be watching London Fashion Week as well, although the only British designer I really buy is McQueen , who shows in Paris..

I’ve just had a (very very) low offer for my travel bag, which I listed ages ago.

It’s too large for a handbag and too small and heavy for a travel bag.
I’ve only used it for storage and a hospital over night stay years ago.

The offer was from a male who wanted it as a man bag.

I wanted more, but decided to accept, as I’m probably never going to use it, except for storage, once I’ve sent it I’ll feel that I need a new handbag.

In the morning I’ll empty it and pack it ready to send..hopefully I won’t ever have another bag to sell.

About four years ago, i transitioned to a two-bag system, with card cases and flat pouches.

My card case has my id, my every day cc, some cash, and my insurance card. I might add a gc to a location if I plan on going to that location that day.

I have a flat pouch that is about 3” x 4”, which is where I put my library card, HSA card, travel cc, local bookstore punch card, rechargeable battery, and all of that wallet stuff that I use occasionally but not daily.

If I’m just running errands or using a cute tiny purse, I’ll take the card case. If it’s a day long thing, then I’ll grab both.

I’ll change out card cases and pouches, but it’s easy to do, because it’s just lift and drop rather than arranging things in specific compartments.
I do this too. I have my frequent flyer coffee cards and little junk in a tiny pouch.

@papertiger I hope you’re feeling better now. Take good care of yourself. You have a lot going on.

My yellow and orange bags haven't changed. I've had the same yellow bag since 2013 and the orange since 2017. The orange one is vintage from 1997. I'm proud of myself for not going overboard in these colors.
I love wearing citrusy / tropical colored clothes but, like you, I don’t need more than a couple of bags in those colors. For me that’s the yellow I showed and a watermelon pink Dior.

I’ve thought about getting a citrusy green bag because I love the color but I’ve never seen one in a style I’d love.
Please feel better soon..❤️❤️❤️

Yay for selling the bag!! I know you have to feel so good not having any more “for sale” bags lingering.

Your second point is the main reason why I’m going to get rid of the extra wallets. I’ve used my Dior Envolee wallet almost daily since I bought it in 2017. It’s still in top condition and shows no signs of ever wearing out.

My main reason for getting rid of them is I don’t love them and it would be ridiculous for me to keep designer items I’m blah about. These were silly impulse purchases.

I’d rather buy another wallet when I fall in love with one and would be tempted to swap it out at times for the one I have.

But, I’m done with selling. I’ll get a quote from AFF when I get back from vacation and be done with them.

We’ve been stuck in a miserable weather pattern: fog, sleet, cold and grey skies. This is unusual for our area to stay so grey and cold. It feels like the life is being drained out of me.

So, I liked seeing all the citrusy and happy bag photos. Keep posting all these beauties!

Meanwhile, I purchased what I hope will be a great new workhorse bag. DD actually found it after I mentioned my epiphany that I need more daily use bags. She said it’s a smart buy because it will work well for both of us leading to a lower CPW. I told her she was sooooo sweet for being “willing” to wear the bag to make it more cost effective. What a selfless daughter I have :roflmfao:

Which bag did you buy?❤️

This studded Prada Galleria in calf leather. It was one of the last two at Bergdorf’s. These are stock photos as I’m waiting for it to arrive. I’ll share in person photos then. IMG_3264.jpeg

I need workhorse bags that are well organized, can hold a good amount without being bulky and can coordinate with black, navy and grey. I find myself always wearing my saffiano/leather Prada double zip tote which has the same structure of two outside zipped sections with a center open section. This will go well with navy, black, white, cream, red, etc. (I’m not sure I’d like this with grey.) I love that the studding gives it a pop of personality without being over the top.

This will be on the larger side of what I usually carry which I think is good as it will give my bags some range.

Going forward, I’d also like to find the perfect burgundy and grey workhorse bags. But, I’ll let them come to me vs. forcing an acquisition. No need to rush and I want them to be perfect.

Also, my epiphany has helped me avoid buying a different bag that I’ve been lusting for that just popped up on sale at Fashionphile. Yes, it would have been nice to own it but I wouldn’t have met my newly identified need. It would have fit pre-Covid life better than post-Covid.
