I remember you said something like this the last time I did a big purge of my bags, and it was so enlightening! Thank you, it stuck with me.

It's a really good size. 28 the Catherine Deneuve had Hermes 'shrink' their Plume luggage case to for a special order in the 1960s (black porosus croc).

I like the 32 a lot too.

I received a quote from AFF on my black Jimmy Choo Raven Hobo. This is the only quote I’ve gotten from her that’s disappointing. Not because I think it's unfair - I think she’s right on the market value. I just “feel” like it should be worth more.

My choices are to consign for that reasonable (low) price or go into a second year of having it listed. Obviously it makes sense to accept reality but sometimes truth is a hard pill to swallow. I think I’m just frustrated because I tried sooooo hard to make that darned little black hole of a bag work. Oh well.

Now, what’s possibly on the chopping block is one or both of these wallets that I bought last year. Dior Envolee in rose beige with a taupe interior and Dior black lambskin cannage wallet.

I really only use one wallet 90% of the time (the other 10% is a swap to a card case or WOC) because while I love changing bags, I haaaaaaate changing wallets. So, since I haven’t even looked at these since I purchased them, I wonder if they should go.

I’m not crazy about the beige color. I bought it because the wallet I currently use and love is the same model but in black w/pink interior.

I do like the black quilted one but wonder if a lamb wallet is practical (i don’t baby my wallet. It goes in the bag where it’s survival of the fittest. )

I used the same (black lambskin) wallet for years, then last year bought a navy mock croc leather Paul Costelloe wallet (enabled by my gf) to match my navy croc bags.
Now I use that all of the time..until I find something better.

The lambskin was durable, but I agree it’s a pain swapping wallets..

About four years ago, i transitioned to a two-bag system, with card cases and flat pouches.

My card case has my id, my every day cc, some cash, and my insurance card. I might add a gc to a location if I plan on going to that location that day.

I have a flat pouch that is about 3” x 4”, which is where I put my library card, HSA card, travel cc, local bookstore punch card, rechargeable battery, and all of that wallet stuff that I use occasionally but not daily.

If I’m just running errands or using a cute tiny purse, I’ll take the card case. If it’s a day long thing, then I’ll grab both.

I’ll change out card cases and pouches, but it’s easy to do, because it’s just lift and drop rather than arranging things in specific compartments.

I used to change wallets all the time. Then I bought this little card holder that is slightly wider than a coach card holder and it works so well, I rarely switch out anymore. I sold a lot of my wallets. As far as lamb leather it depends if you carry your keys loose or in a pouch.

When I joined tpf, wallets were so much more important and talked about than they are today. I thought I was the only person who used a single wallet in all bags. I did step my wallet 'game' up a bit and bought Gucci and H wallets/card holders plus a few others but I tend to use them with dual purpose like my Hermes Dogon duo or large Steeple as evening bags when traveling, or repurpose them to help other things in like one of my Calvis as a business card holder.

ATM, I carry a tortoiseshell, patent leather, Alexander McQueen card holder for my everyday cards, occasionally some folded cash. When I'm out and about + 2 x Hermes Calvis (one for business cards and one for extra cards). If I need a change purse I use my chalk leather zipped purse.

I prefer to buy a lovely wallet when I see it and let it 'queue' to eventually be used. In addition to my everyday stuff, I have a green python Boules Gucci wallet (divine) for occasions I need something larger and fancier (can also be used as a clutch). My Rubis Clemence ghw Dogon duo wallet and large zip-round Steeple are great for traveling. I have 2 brown crocodile Gucci wallets that I have used a lot in the past and I love, love love (large and small zip-round) plus a signature print flat wallet (present from Gucci as was the change purse) never used. I have a hair-calf/box leather wallet somewhere too.

Counting card holders as wallets: That's 7 wallets in a draw used occasionally, and 3 being used almost every day. It's actually a testament to Hermes / Gucci quality that the wallets last so long. Most of these I have had for more than 10 years.

My only real orange bag is my Gucci Soho Disco in 'orange' nubuck. However, even that is less orange more tan.

I would love a fabulous yellow/amber/mustard bag.

I can definitely see wallets becoming more and more obsolete as things like cards and apple pay become more prevalent word wide.
My MIL doesn't have a wallet at all.
In the big Chinese cities they use the WiChat app for everything. WiChat for paying for groceries, shopping, public transport, etc. It's not just another messaging app.
She literally just carries around her phone.

I still love cardholders and the occasional wallet that holds cash (like the one that I just got).
I change cardholders every season, mainly just to go with the mood/vibe of each season. Lighter colors for spring/summer and darker colors for fall/winter.
But I've slowly started to purge and clean out my SLGs that I don't use. I still hold onto the ones I received as gifts, because they are sentimental (which luckily isn't a lot lol)

Though many of my wallets (when not on rotation) are useful for holding the cards that I don't use often. Like restaurant stamp/membership cards, or unused/occasional credit cards. I have 1 envelope cardholder, 1 zip-around wallet, and 1 bifold wallet that do all of that. Probably need to go through and trash very old cards, but it's nice to store the cards somewhere lol.

I am not at my best so I know I am not looking great. It's cold here, and I've been under the weather literally too. I am wearing long coats with jackets and jumpers under. I probably look like a hobo but apart from last Thursday when I braved work (Liberty x Apple laptop case and Hermes Evie) I'm only going out for a walk, for food or to the chemist. I spent £40-ish just on cold medicine and vitamins.

This weekend and today I've carried my smokey teal-blue Gucci python Catherine and my red goatskin Aphrodite. Both haven't had trips for a while.

It's London Fashion Week from Thursday and it's part of my job to show my face at various events. I seriously need to get well and up my game. I am not feeling very sociable atm but I need to be. Thursday I will do the cynical, jaded, urban, anti-fashion look . Carry my silver Bal Le City, vintage Maison Margiela jumper, Rick Owens leather jacket, grey denim jeans and silver Saint Laurent sunglasses so no-one can see my eyes watering all the time.

What do you wear when you're in an anti-fashion/beauty mood?

I have an H Silk'in Compact Wallet*, and it's the only wallet I carry any more. It's a perfect size for me... and it's pink! Changing wallets is a pain!

I do have a small magnetic 'card case' on my phone that I keep my DL and one CC in... (I'm not sure what they're called) but I not 100% sure about it - it's fallen off in my purse and I worry that if I'm not holding it - like if I set it down in the grocery cart - someone might take it and there goes my DL, a CC and my phone which would be dreadful. That's a lot of 'if's', but things happen!


* I have 2 Silk'in Compacts - both pink, but with different silk inside. I bought the second as a back up for the first - with the way they wear, I may never need the second - but just in case - I got another!
