Congratulations on NOT buying

I did NOT buy a pristine, pre-loved Sea Grass (green-yellow) Med Bottega Veneta Point yesterday. It's kinda killing me because I do actually want a yellow bag and it's not a bad price. I like the handheld option, the strap seems like an afterthought. Do I want anything on a bag that looks like an afterthought? I just need to think is that the yellow bag I want.
Congratulations on pausing in your buying.

I am all for buying something that just speaks to you. But, when I think of your wardrobe choices, one of the first phrases I think of is “well considered”. You have a uniquely beautiful way of juxtaposing items in a thoughtful yet effortless way. So I wonder if an item with an element that feels like an afterthought to you would irritate you over time. Would you be happy just wearing handheld or with a different intentionally paired strap?
Gratuitous photo of my labors

Yum, yummy, yumsters!!

Isn’t the pink a Dior? Which one?

It is Ferragamo - a Trifolio! It is one of my favorite bags - even the inside is a lovely yellow leather.

I'm looking for another in the smooth Cognac color - but it is as rare as hen's teeth.

I don't have an Ferragamo bags alas. I would love one. Yours is such a beautiful colour. That's really the kind of :sunshine: yellow I would like. I would go green-undertone acid yellow or amber, but my preference would definitely be for a brilliant sunshine yellow, structured (day-eve) little bag.

I hope you find the Cognac (another one of my favourite colours).

Yes! It's a Be Dior - it's a great size and I like that it's an under the radar bag. It has some delightful features too - the back pocket fits my phone, the interior is a royal blue smooth leather, and it has a hidden 'pocket' under a small flap in the front (that is hard to describe though - a picture would be better but I am still at the office), much like Chanel has that small hidden pocket. It's a darling purse.
I also have it in Navy/Silver but it is a medium and considerably larger ... and I don't carry it as much.

I have 2 Ferragamo's - the red Studio (love!) and the Trifolio (also love). I think Ferragamo is really underrated - these two truly have gorgeous leather and are very well made.

You are so right. I like there to be thought and care in every aspect of the bag I'm buying.

If it didn't have a strap, I wouldn't be thinking of it. The fact that it does, and is just loosely knotted leather on the reverse of the holes that holds the body of the bag really bugs me. I could take the strap off and only use it that way, but why shouldn't someone be able to use it well both ways? So ill-considered.

A few updates on my end:

- Luckily, the mold has not spread so much that it will require a shut down of the construction. They can do remediation “fairly easily” and at a cost that won’t force me to cut back on other elements of the remodel. So HUGE sigh of relief. :happydance:

- Leather Surgeons sent my Bvlgari bag back AND I MISSED THE DELIVERY! :panic: I can’t be home all day tomorrow and I hope it’s not sent back to LS given I’ll be out of the country starting Saturday. I can’t WAIT to see it!

- I seem to have bought a bag. (This was pre mold. So not a self soothing bag. Lol!) I put in a VERY low bid (50%) on a beautiful bag I’ve wanted for a long time. It will be here the week I return and I can’t wait to share it with everyone.

Meanwhile, DD’s BF proposed to her…and she said no. I fully support her decision and am proud that she knows her own mind and speaks in her own voice.

@whateve, @dcooney4 I want to give the two of you credit for my favorite new thing! I’d been wondering what to do with my Max Mara Whitney and you both suggested I use it to hold papers, etc.

Ultimately, I decided to keep the bag for its original purpose (business meetings.) BUT! I liked the idea of having a receptacle to keep all of the various non business items I use at different times at home.

Et, voila! I bought this from Amazon and it’s amazing. I can keep everything together and easily bring them from room to room. It holds my laptop, books, journals, sketch pads, pencils, pens, lotion…. The handles and pockets make it so easy to use. And it keeps my things from looking messy in the room.

So thanks for the inspiration! I love how we support each other in the most unexpected ways. IMG_3292.jpegIMG_3293.jpeg

That's great! It feels so good for everything to have a purpose and to corral all those necessary things in something that looks nice and keeps you organized.

I was proud of myself when I hit on the idea of keeping a decorative basket on the coffee table to hold a bunch of miscellaneous things I like to have nearby. I was even prouder of myself when I decided to use decorative bowl I already owned for other things I wanted to keep close.
