I have been dealing with DH stuff for two-weeks straight. One step forward and two steps back. I am so tired and numb if I am brutally honest. Having my stitches out hardly registered (I still need to buy supplements). My dear auntie and cousin have been great as well as my colleagues at work. I am very grateful for these amazing people around me (all of you too - and I know so many are going through such difficult times too) :hugs:

I tried on a pair of cotton navy trousers today - just Cos, not expensive, but I did NOT buy. They looked great, but I need to check what I have already. They would make a great addition for AW working wardrobe. I can't see them with a velvet jacket nor tweed. They are very 'Dramatic Classic' if you know what that is (I've been typed DC :blah: but I usually hate the recommended looks on me). All I can think of to go with the trousers is a blouse or shirt, maybe tank-top or waistcoat (vest) then something 'mad' as outerwear. Maybe a graphic tee worn with a fedora hat. I don't want to think I am stress shopping though, and as you know I already bought a McQueen dress this week so I need to cool off from the shopping fever :sweatdrop:.

OK, so today I went food shopping after work. I had to pass several mid-range and fast fashion brand stores - so because you put chocolate brown and bubble-hem I am see these treads everywhere, everywhere, everywhere.

I've never had anything bubble-hem but I am really intrigued. I think you did well with your tops (so long as they're the right size for you). It's a great take on the trend.

I didn't see anything in brown that I loved. I can confidently predict I will have a stash of brown already, I already remembered I have not one but two pairs of brown trousers already, plus a Loewe suede coat and other leather jackets. I need to check my closet before buying more brown for sure.
I recently bought and wore this top from H&M with simkhai jeans + my old pashli (mentioned up thread), cuz it's cotton.

I think it helps to preserve the look of an hourglass shape + hiding slight bloats

I need some new jeans, but I have such narrow hips(and I’m not as slim as I used to be), that I have trouble finding anything to fit.

I saw some Armani Exchange jeans which looked very narrow, but it was too late in the day to try them on-with vanity sizing I’m really going to struggle.

Good American 24(00) were too large, my Samurai Geisha jeans became too loose…

I used to wear 3sixteen+ from Self Edge but haven’t ordered those for years..
I'm wondering if Self Edge is a pun on selvedge...

Sorry I didn’t realise we had Abercrombie in the U.K.!

Levi’s generally don’t fit me very well-the rise is too high, and hips too wide in the ratio.

Firstly I’ll try my Diesels and see how many pairs I need..Momotaros ladies jeans have fitted me well in the past.

Thank you for the Uniqlo suggestion as well!
I think Abercrombie and Hollister are very similar. They are part of the same company.

Loving that, I can see it would pep-up a pencil skirt or black cigarette pants. I have a H&M near me but I will pause on RTW for at least a week because I have to remember the style(s) I had in mind,

Don't they make them in kid's sizes? When I was in high school, I wore men's 501s in a size 28. I wore them down on my hips.

I'm sure, they were/are the hardy perennial. I have a pair of very vintage Levis somewhere, I actually bought them preloved from a dealer for a shoot, I'm just not sure where I put them.

Levis (and later Japanese Evisu and the like) were all I could dream about when I was younger. Not just 501s. I was obsessed by that Levis' space advert with the Babylon Zoo song. My sister bought the 'starring' jeans for my birthday. I can't think what was so revolutionary about them now.

I worked for Levi's headquarters in San Francisco a very long time ago. We could buy jeans from sample sales for $5.

Levi's, especially those that are closest to the original 5 pocket design, have always been cool.

Wow, you had my dream job! I think original Levis designs hold their own completely, I just can't deal with the weird mix of fabrics now.

I haven't been into jeans for a while. I think, it's since I've needed to dress down jackets and bored of skirts. I like to break down suits and rework them. I have a pair of Dolce & Gabbana suit trousers on the rail at the end of my bed that need shortening right now (I put them there to remind me to do it). I've worn the jacket many times but never liked the whole beige pinstripe suit worn together. I'll wear the trousers with a vest (tank) a white shirt unbuttoned over and skinny scarf for trans-seasonal wear. It'll be hot next week here, but it can't be too long until the weather freshens.

Yes, high street stores and brands are where I am seeing these items.
It's good to check your closet before buying anything: sometimes we forget what we have tucked away in the recesses!

I began my shoe clear-out and was dismayed to discover that some pairs have not held up well to storage in the basement. Anyway, I had to dispose off some pairs and this has strengthened my resolve to have an even smaller footwear collection. I did identify some needs and so I now have some items on my wishlist including a pair of two-tone Chanel classic slingbacks and a pair of loafers, and planning to add both this year. I would also like pointed toe kitten heel (or slightly higher heel like maybe 2.5 inches) slingbacks in black and nude and will need to explore some options.

I'm sorry to hear this. I hope things get better soon.

Yes!It is!

If my Diesels are no good I will most likely try more 3sixteen+ jeans as they are not vanity sized at all, and have very long inside legs, and are “real jeans”..

I cannot believe that since January 2023(when I really was very minimalist), my closet has literally doubled, and is still increasing.

My boyfriend and I love lunching and shopping-I’m far more petite than his late wife, I think he enjoys it as much as I do, he also buys clothes..we are having a ball..

Next Saturday we have been invited to a party-I haven’t yet decided what to wear, although I think it will be quite warm.

So much for my New Year’s Resolution!(Not to buy clothes!)
