now that Multicolore is back - do you think they will repair old Murakami items? specifically, my trouville in white had some red staining from the alcantra lining.

i heard awhile back they said “no” because multicolore was retired. so i’m wondering what they would do now? i dont mind a few - just curious of your thoughts.
LV never makes repairs that require replacing canvas. Leather trim, hardware, and sometimes linings, yes, but never canvas.

If something is deemed defective, they will replace or refund. However, in the case of an item thats 10+ years old, it is highly unlikely that they will offer that, even if the issue is the result of a known defect.

The amount of conflicting information about this launch is mind boggling.

Either its a major guerrilla marketing tactic to incite FOMO or SA’s just don’t know what’s really going on.
I think it might be several reasons for the disinformation. We all live in different regions, with different stock and policies. Individual stores might even have different policies within the same region. Additionally, SAs can be telling the truth or also be lying/giving us info they were told to give us.

I would be surprised if they have no additional stock come January across all regions or produce more. Selling all to VVVICs without also wanting to profit from the very interested general customers… why in their right mind? Then again, this from the same brand not giving us RTW for this collection…

Anyway, I already feel like this is more thought I want to give to this haha I refuse to get FOMO now, I’ll leave that (if any) to January when there’s no Christmas/NYE and the scenario is clearer. Vintage Murakami pieces are just as gorgeous to me.

Yeah, I’m a little put off at the moment. I know in the LV world $24k is nothing but I think I’m close enough to get a manager approval. Or not. I might not matter enough as a customer to this store. Or what I want to order isn’t enough? My original list had 6 items in it and none were available, so… :shrugs:

I’m going to try a different SA that I’ve worked with before to see if I have better luck.
I cannot believe how tough it is for the USA market…$24k is quite a bit to spend on LV to not be given priority and not like you are planning to get the slgs…I hope you can secure anything with another SA…having a manager to approve is just ridiculous!

I know, it seems so much easier in Australia! I haven't been a client of LV for years, yet I was able to secure items by contacting a customer service rep via online chat on the website!

Same here, I haven’t bought anything at Louis Vuitton for two years! I think it’s super easy in Australia at the moment (for whatever strange reason). Usually it’s impossible to get anything here!

US folks!
Do we have a confirmation of release date. I know January 1st has been floating around, but my CA texted me the other day and she mentioned January 3rd for the public (to be fair, sometimes Reddit knows more than her but adore her). 💛
I’m traveling that week so I need to be prepared. Thanks in advance!
My Florida SA said the collection is released on January 3rd too 🤷‍♀️

It is so interesting that we are getting different stories from our SA! I have been assured more will be available again before January. Hopefully that is true but I do think there will be returns as well.
Same, I am getting the feeling there are people who are really vested in making everyone feel like they've missed out. It's bad vibes.

And honestly, the vast majority of CAs know less than TPF about most things, it's just a job for them. I've had good relationships with all of the ones from my store for nearly 20 years and I can think of two that I'd know were really up on their current information but they still only know as much as they're told which is usually not a lot.

Corporate communications from LV has never been great and always especially falls flat with big launches. I've ordered things in pre-order and sat around for 6-7 months with everyone scratching their heads until something just randomly shows up one day.

what you said is very true. most don't know much and it's usually clients educating them (i've seen it happen many times). i can't count how many times i'll be talking to one of them and they go i didn't even know that. or how did you find that out? etc. corporate communication has been always marginal at best, multiple of them have expressed they are left in the dark up until the last minute.

I’m less than $1000 away from the threshold and also was denied.

I’ve basically been told good luck on Jan 1.

Hopefully we will all get something from our list of wants but I’m feeling like the magic and enchantment of this launch is dissipating and I’m not caring too much about it now.
My CA has been amazing, but I'm not happy with the company policy on this. She rang up a piece to get me over the limit (ironically I was over the limit but had to return a defective piece in late Nov) but the company has not approved the order. IF she can somehow get it approved, I'm sure the pieces I want will be gone. My time and energy are valuable to me and I get very soured on any process that wastes them!

I was $716 away from $25K and was denied. My CA rang up a piece to get me over the limit, but still no lift on the order hold. My CA is amazing but at this point it I'm tired of begging the company to take my money. I've been a good client for two decades and the launch has lost its magic for me. I will use my beautiful 20yr old originals!
