December Activities and Challenges - pick and choose as you please.

I. 2024 Year In Review Reflection
(Thanks @Vintage Leather)

Utilize these thought starters to evaluate your collection, your usage patterns and your lessons learned in 2024.
• What is your most useful purse?
• What is your best purchase of the year?
• We’ve all had a lot of lifestyle changes this year - how has it affected your style?
• What is the one thing we’ve learned this year that you want to take into the next?

II. Setting 2025 Goals
Take this month to consider what you want to do with your handbag collection, wardrobe or even your beautiful life in 2025. Share these thoughts in January when we start the 2026 Shopping Your Closet thread.

III. End of year optional challenges

• Holiday colors: December has many holidays celebrated across the world - red & green, brown & gold, blue & white and more! Pick the holiday that you want to honor and wear / show off your bags in those traditional colors.

• End with a bang: As we come to the last part of the year, wear the last bag you’ve purchased at least 3 times this month.

@Vlad please pin this to the top of our thread.

These are great and a lot of fun.

I count all bags as bags.

I live by the beach so it's slightly different. My mother also used to live in seaside place (she loved the sea). Unless I'm going to sunbathe or swim I just walk along the beach carrying whichever bag I fancy for the day. I have a folding nylon bag if I need to set it down on the sand
I’ve never lived by the beach so whenever I’m on one, it’s on vacation. For ocean or pool days, I want a bag that can get wet or potentially stained without any concern. I only have one premier bag that qualifies. All other beach bags are very inexpensive options like these two. I’m always floored when people take fabric Chanel, Dior, etc bags to sand and water. The bag would be dead to me oncenit go water logged, sandy and stained.

Good news for me - I tried on the metallic bag again and it may just work out.

The times I’m enjoying the resort / city / local events, etc on a beach vacation, I carry one of the 2-4 premier handbags I’ve packed to coordinate with my outfits.

All that to say - like @dcooney4, I count sport, luggage and single use bags in a separate “utility bags” list and try to keep these as limited in number and in cost as is practical to get the needs met.

I completed my challenge yesterday. I've worn my Bal Le City 3 tines. Last night even to the ballet. It's my newest new bag

I loved their upcycled Christmas tree too

I’m so glad you’re getting great use from this bag! It deserves the love.

I’m abandoning my attempt at the “End with a bang challenge”. I have zero desire to wear the brown Prada bowler bag again so I’m listing it tomorrow. :frown: Although it’s in very good condition, it still looks more “broken in” than I like. I just don’t do well with preowned unless they’re close to pristine. Also, the aesthetic just isn’t me for reasons I can’t quite pinpoint. Hmm… I need to think on this to help avoid future mistakes.

My MVP of my bags is the Just Campagne Confort 1.

A champion of totes (some of you may remember when I carried only 4 bags for a month as a challenge - this was one of the 4), it has saved my sanity recently.
We’ve been packing like crazy people, we closed on the new house, then had a very stressful closing on the old house Monday, we’ve moved to the new place, and I’ve unpacked the house (90%), put out the Christmas decor, wrapped all the presents, and I leave for Paris on Monday - I have not packed anything yet…
Through ALL of this craziness, I’ve carried the JC. If I didn’t want to lose it - in it went. All the keys, garage door openers, Coco’s collar, the checkbook, Euros, my passport, wallet - anything I was afraid of misplacing in the hullabaloo went in the JC.
It’s a fantastic purse.

I think you’re a champion of life right now. You have a LOT going on.

Did you move to a new city or just make a change in your current home town? All moves are so doggone stressful!

I don't have a beach bag. If we go to a beach, I don't carry a bag. I rarely go to any other pool than my own and I don't need a bag for it. I generally count all bags even if they serve a specific purpose. I have a kate spade tote that I use for yarn. I used to use it for library books but I don't go to the library anymore.

What do you carry your things in at the beach?

So the Black Friday purchases finally came in, in the past week.
Came out as I kind of expected with half of the items not working out.
I am terrible at online shopping lol.
One item didn’t fit so returned it.
One item fit but I felt it would look better oversized, so planning to do an exchange.

Remember when I said I’ve decided to invest in designer pumps and heeled sandals just don’t work for me? Well. I take that back. :facepalm:I was wrong. Maybe I just never took the effort to try lol.
About a week ago I was at YSL and I saw these strapping heeled sandals. And they intrigued me. What attracted me was the color, it was like a satin beige nude. In my head, they would be versatile and not look like they’re cutting off my legs. Bring heeled and nude it would help elongate my shorter legs.
But I wasn’t sure. YSL heeled sandals are known for having very small sole bases. I’ve tried on many before and even being a person with narrow feet, my toes would always hang off.
So I tried them on and wow. They were stunning. They felt surprisingly very secure. And all my toes fit on the sole!
However I was wearing tights at the time (look amazing with tights) and needed to know what it looked like with bare legs.
And I wanted time to think so I asked my SA to hold them.
Then yesterday I went in to try them on with bare legs. (Not fun on a chilly day, I wore a pretty short dress)
And they still felt just as secure and my toes fit all on the shoe.
Even my husband really liked them. And while he has good fashion sense and has his opinions, he rarely vocalizes his opinions in public (usually we talk about it before or after)
So they came home with me.
These would be my very first pair of luxury heeled sandals. (I have a hair of sandal wedges but that’s it.)

Very pretty! Concur that it’s elongating but my ankle twisted looking at them! I’ll just walk vicariously through you.

Fill them with toiletry and makeup samples, and donate to a shelter or Dress for Success type program?
@Vintage Leather this is a great suggestion!
There are various shops that I order from that always include tons of samples
& I bring them usually 2 or 3 times times a year to a local women's shelter
Once can't image the smiles that are on these gals faces.. a bag is on it's way soon
for Christmas/Hanukah & really it is such a feel good!
