December Activities and Challenges - pick and choose as you please.

I. 2024 Year In Review Reflection
(Thanks @Vintage Leather)

Utilize these thought starters to evaluate your collection, your usage patterns and your lessons learned in 2024.
• What is your most useful purse?
• What is your best purchase of the year?
• We’ve all had a lot of lifestyle changes this year - how has it affected your style?
• What is the one thing we’ve learned this year that you want to take into the next?

II. Setting 2025 Goals
Take this month to consider what you want to do with your handbag collection, wardrobe or even your beautiful life in 2025. Share these thoughts in January when we start the 2026 Shopping Your Closet thread.

III. End of year optional challenges

• Holiday colors: December has many holidays celebrated across the world - red & green, brown & gold, blue & white and more! Pick the holiday that you want to honor and wear / show off your bags in those traditional colors.

• End with a bang: As we come to the last part of the year, wear the last bag you’ve purchased at least 3 times this month.

@Vlad please pin this to the top of our thread.

Thank GOODNESS the vet called and the “mass” turned out to be a solid imp action.

He’s been given IV fluids, appetite stimulants, pain relief, blood tests and other meds.

He’s coming home this evening , and needs to go for a check up next week.

I’ve never been so relieved in my life, and will never tell him off again (he has 3 left feet, unlike the real Baryshnikov).
I’m so glad that everything worked out for you and your kitty.
No good deed goes unpunished they say. Several days ago I awoke with severe pain in my leg. When it didn't go away after many days I went to the doctor. Apparently when you have a hip replacement you aren't supposed to ever sit crosslegged or do plies with the feet turned out or anything that bends your leg in that position. No one ever told me that. I was just told no high impact. So I shouldn't have been doing a lot of that yoga. In fact I can't think of a single yoga video I did that didn't have at least one position that is a no no. Anyway I'm still in terrible pain. They couldn't get me into physical therapy for over a week. DH won't walk without me so I feel I'm impacting his health too.
Oh no! This has to be so frustrating for you. :hugs:I hate that you’re in pain. Will the PT be able to prevent / help gently repair any injury? I absolutely hate PT but they are the best thing for helping you learn how to exercise properly post an injury or surgery. So I hope you get a lot lf relief and insight from your visits.

Oh No! So sorry to hear.

I can't believe no one told you what exercise ou could and couldn't do. That's so negligent.

Best of recovery for your poor hips.

I gave up stringent yoga classes about a year ago when I felt it was impacting my knee. I will do the odd downward dog and light stretches, but I am much happier now mostly just dancing.

OK, so it’s not just me! I’ve been saying that about the Cover Girl logo since Gucci moved to this design. It’s the thing that keeps me from buying a Gucci bag every single time. I believe this is a logo from the archives, which means it probably predates the Cover Girl logo (@papertiger, any idea?), but I feel like for at least American women our age, it just reads Cover Girl.

FWIW, I have the opposite problem as you when it comes to style of earrings: My hair is very short, so studs and very small hoops are the most I can handle. I also have a smaller head in proportion to my shoulders, which doesn’t help. I admire women with short hair who can pull off bigger, danglier earrings, but I just look silly any time I try.
Cover Girl switched from script to font in the mid 70s

I'm so so sorry.

ETA: I read further and see that there's good news! I'm so relieved for you.
Thank you-it was literally the worst day of the year-I’d come home in the morning and bauled my eyes out..

Since he’s been home he hasn’t stopped eating , and has a check up next week.

But I didn’t have a very good night afterwards, I’m so relieved too!❤️

Holiday Colors Challenge!

I’ve chosen red, green, silver and gold for my holiday colors challenge (i should have added black but I wear my black bags all the time.) We’re going to Scottsdale for 10 days this month so I don’t know that I’ll get all 13 bags I have in these colors worn but I’m going to try!

Today is my first entry which is my red lamb Chanel jumbo. I haven’t worn this bag in over a year and seriously considered selling. Oh my GAWD! What a HUGE mistake that would have been. I loved e-ver-y minute of carrying this luscious bag! I had on a red Santa hat too which made my shopping day with the bag all the more FUN!

It even started raining cats and dogs around 2pm and I didn’t care because the jumbo fits my compact umbrella along with the few other things I carry. And I’ve never had an issue with lambskin bags in the rain.

Red Candy Chanel was a good luck charm because I got a lot of Christmas shopping done including finding these surprise poinsettia plates for my dinette table.

This is why I need to stop overthinking my bags and just shop my closet to wear them. I thought I’d love yesterday’s brown Prada bag but hated wearing it. Then I thought I might need to sell this C jumbo and had so much fun with it.

I’m happy to eat my words and stop dithering when it gets me to a great place of bag truth.

Last week was a good handbag week

Balmain and Bal Bowler Tuesday
Bal le City Weds
Hermes Rouge H Bolide Friday.

What a weekend :sweatdrop: though.

Started Saturday with a migraine and vomiting (I think I didn't drink enough water on Friday) as a huge storm decided to launch a tree into my garden from next door. My poor shed. My poor pear tree. It cost me, but a tree surgeon managed to put almost everything is put to rights this afternoon. I still have a lot of clearing-up to do. I knew that tree needed pollarding, it was top heavy. The sad thing is the birds loved it in the Spring and Summer, so I will miss it too.

I can't believe that was my weekend. I managed to see a friend as her husband spent all night at the A&E after having an accident at work, but she lives down the road so I just threw on a Loewe leather duffle coat and used my pockets.

How is everyone else?

Goodness! Here’s to hoping the coming week is a lot less eventful for you!

What a weekend :sweatdrop: No handbag news. I did do some boot polishing though.

OMG, I am so sorry. I hope you are feeling better. And, I hope your friends husband is okay.

Poor pear tree. We have black gum trees in planters on our terraces, but it’s a lot of work when they fall over.
Previously we had apple trees, but they couldn’t withstand the wind.

@cecchetti , happy birthday to Miss Bianca.

@Sparkletastic , love your jumbo. It’s wonderful when you rediscover a treasure

The closest to a holiday red or green (from shopping the closet)
