My dad used to call them Roach Killers because he said you could get to a roach in the corner of. the house.
All of them aren’t horrible. And I just bought 2 pair that are comfy. But, again those are booties and boots. It’s the VERY rare high heeled pointy toes pump that I can stand to be in. So I was wondering. Is it just my feet? Or are women just willing to be miserable. Because they sell like hot cakes!
I just bought low suede kitten heels with pointy toes that are very comfortable. It could be because they are not high that they are good.

I don’t know if it’s too quick to recap my year, but since Egg has the new one up and running, I guess it’s time I look back and see what I’ve been doing this year.

My resolution at the beginning of the year

1. Allow one bag per month with a carry-over quota so basically, I allow myself to buy no more than 12 bags this year.

What happened: I bought 10. But this doesn’t include bags I order from MM closing down sale. If I include that, it’ll definitely exceed the quota of 12. I wonder if I should include those coz for me, it feels like a special order coz if it’s not for him closing his business, I won’t order them all now at the same time and will pace them out a bit.

2. Get rid of some old bags I don’t use anymore or repurpose those that I couldn’t let go.

What happened: I did get rid of some bags. I sold some and gave away some. Some are so new I basically just got them. Some have been sitting in my closet for too long I think it’s time for them to go. I don’t keep track of the number. Just know it happened.

3. Exercise a better self-control during trips.

What happened: I had 3 trips abroad this year. I bought quite a lot during the first one. (2 bags and some SLGs) No bag and SLG during the second one. I did get some brooches. [emoji28] That doesn’t count, right? And I got no bag and no SLG during my last trip. Again with a few brooches. But I plan to cull my craziness toward this brooches next year. Hope that Chanel will not release anything cute. [emoji28]

4. Have fun and enjoy my bags.

What happened: I enjoy my bags a lot. Of course, I didn’t get to use all of them. I simply have too many. But I love what I have and enjoy going back to some that I got long long time ago. For example, I was digging through my closet a couple weeks ago trying to find something else and found this tote which I think I bought more than 10 years ago. It’s been a long time since I wore it last time so I changed out of MM citrus Juliet into this bag and has been wearing it since. I find myself still like it and enjoy using it. Somehow it escapes my mind that I have something awesome hiding in my closet coz I have too many and even though I try to keep track, I think I didn’t do a good enough job with the non-premier category. But so far, I have fun and enjoy what I have a lot. Finding this tote again is quite a surprise and a fun thing for me, too. [emoji4]

Overall, I don’t think it’s a bad year for me goal-wise. I went overboard with MM closing sale, but aside from that, everything else is pretty much under the goal.

And this is the tote I’m using now. It has different pattern on the front and back.

Cute and cheerful! Do you have a list of all your bags? I have one by color and it is fun to look at but also helps me . The best part is you enjoyed your bags this year.

Am I the only one who hates pointy toed shoes? Raise your hand if you think they’re demonic!

I have an average American foot. Size 8.5 M. No bunions or other issues with shape (even my wound site from toe surgery is back to normal size after looking like a cartoon motorcycle side car for a few months). No especially slim heels or ankles. No fallen arches.

Yet most pointy toed heels KILL my feet!!!!!

It sounds goofy to some but, one reason I wanted us to move to a warm weather city was to be able to wear open toed shoes (and no coats, and no hats, and no long underwear and no tights and no scarves) most of the time. Boots are the only closed in pointy heels that I find to be reliably comfy. I think it’s because my leg is held in place so my toes don’t slide forward into a closed in prison. In any case, closed in, pointy toed heels are no go 90% of the time.

Almond toe is so much more reasonable. Round toe is a beautiful thing. Open toe? Hallelujah!

But pointed toe, closed in heels????
:whut: :panic::crybaby: :cursing:

So, I wanna know... I have zero problems wearing non pointy high heels. I walk, run and dance in them while some other people say “Heck no!” and can’t believe I can actually be comfy. (I am)

Well, I’m like that with pointed toe closed in heels. Do I just own feet that say HECK NO while some other angelically blesses souls find them perfectly comfy? I can’t see how. Blind spot + American feet? Or are they suffering for beauty?

Oh man, I love pointy-toed shoes. Part of it is just my aesthetic--I find them really ladylike and classic, and most round-toe shoes just make me feel a little too girlish. Also, I think my feet sometimes look too small relative to my height (5'7" with a size 7 shoe), so I appreciate how a pointy toe adds proportion.

And my toes don't go all the way to the end in a pointy-toe shoe or an almond-toe shoes, and I appreciate having a bit of a buffer rather than my toes just hitting up against the actual shoe all day.

Everyone's feet are different, though--I love wearing heels and am very comfortable in them, and just because of how my feet are shaped, I do better in a shoe with at least a very small heel rather than a totally flat shoe. But people whose feet aren't like mine think I've lost it.

And I see what you mean on shoes after googling senseless and creepers. Some of them are really cool. Out of curiosity, though, why wouldn't booties do the job?

Ooooh, YES! I don't live in a very cold-weather place... it only gets down to the 40s at night here, but the wind does blow off the ocean. But in the winter time I get really, really, REALLY cold. Especially my hands and feet. When I'm in the house, I wear knee socks and then shearling-lined Ugg slippers on top. Hey... it's a look!

These are the slippers... the style name is "Ansley" and they fit like a loafer, including a lightweight sole so they offer a bit of support.

Elaine, I have these EXACT same slippers! They are just a little short in the toe, but have broken in and fit great now. What I really like about them is the rubber sole, meaning I can wear them outside when I need to take the dog out to the backyard or take out the trash. Mine are starting to look a little icky, so now I want a pair in black.

Re. heels, I can’t do them at all. Years of hip pain and three hip surgeries have made high pointy shoes a no-no. Not that I was much of a heel-wearer before then! But a sturdy boot with a 2-inch heel is about as high as I can comfortably go. I figure it just frees me up to focus more on bags!

No. I keep list by brand. Kinda stupid me. [emoji28] I didn’t think that at the end I’ll have this many bags so I only keep the list of the premiere and some contemporary. So, definitely not all my bags. [emoji28] This tote is from a clothing brand, actually. I got it because I like how cheerful it look, but the way its compartments are designed is also functional and is a good size so I think it’s another good buy, too.

I now wish I keep a list of “every bag” that I own, but that can be too scary. [emoji37][emoji37][emoji37] I think I definitely own more than 50 bags. [emoji29][emoji29][emoji29] And even if I were to keep a list, probably it’d be according to the style and function such as tote (casual tote, dressy tote, business tote, traveling tote, foldable/grocery/backup tote) Not by the color since I mainly grab bag according to the event on that day. However, since my day to day life are kinda on a routine and I dress very simple and always use my bag as the accent of colors for my outfits, everything works if it can hold my stuff at the moment.

I can't do heels any more either. In my case, it was a low back surgery and then knee surgery. :yucky:

So if I need to be dressy, I've mostly standardized on AGL cap toe ballet flats. They get new styles every year at Nordstrom. Here's the link... you can see that they come in different colors, depending on the season.

They are pretty, but of course, they aren't nearly as dressy (or sexy!) as heels. But you gotta do what you gotta do. ;)

What ever works best for you. I have mine listed by color because that is how I store them. I also use that list for tick marks. I do have another list of my bags by style like tote, satchels, backpacks , Cross Body etc and a separate list for Sport and travel bags . I don’t like to admit it but I also have over 50 bags.

Thanks for the link! I like these a lot. I used to live in flats, now I live in boots and sneakers. But I could really use a couple of pairs of flats. Do you find they run true to size? I noticed Nordstrom says they run small.

it really depends on the shoe, i have pointy Prada pumps, they feel very comfy, i, too, prefer open toe shoes, and i have a pair of Loubis with open heel (and almond toe) they are my one and only Loubies/dressy pumps! in daily life i live in BV dodgers, or espadrilles, or TOD's mocs

I haven't found them to run small. I take a 6.5 in sneakers, but I take a 6 in pretty much all brands of flats. And I'm a size 6 in these AGL flats.

Im glad you’re enjoying your bags. That is the most important thing!

These are pretty and the look super comfy!
I have 60+ right now. I'm not actually 100% sure how many, because I also keep lists to track what I have, and I have different lists where I broke them out by color and then style/brand, and my numbers don't actually match ...
60+ pair of shoes or bags?
