No real changes in my earlier post about my stats - I did manage to wear 3 of my 4 less expensive purses after all. So - yay!
I also took a look at my yearly stats due to @dcooney4 - I've had a lot of movement this year too. Mostly I said goodbye to some purses I'd had for years and were starting to look that way too… I still have one (a small black Coach) but it's really versatile.
YTD purses in - 16
YTD purses out - 12
4 of the purses that came In are special use/ travel related.
Some of the Outs were purses I purchased this year (and counted in my In list) that didn't work and I immediately turned around and sold (though one was a flat out donation because while I really liked the purse, it smelled terrible ).
I did more donating than selling though - oh well. :flowers:
Good job looking at your bags with a critical eye and moving the non winners out the door!

My month end stats.

7 slgs out
4 slgs in
1 bag out
0 bags in
Great work!

I am surprised you have that many!

So my mom has been receiving my eBay bag returns . The red Dior I sold myself on auction and ended up getting more that way than with eBay Authenticate (so I've tested that thoroughly and $1 auction trumps eBay Authenticate, so take note ladies!), But two other bags my mom received she said she LOVES and insisted she buy them from me for what I would hope to get for them from eBay. I can't figure out if she's just trying to be nice, wants to never go to the post office again, or genuinely fell in love with the bags. But she wouldn't take no for an answer so they are hers now! Hahahaha
Good to know on the auctions. I’m trying it on Sunday.

And, I’m so jealous of all of you who have nice moms. I wish I had one. Unfortunately, mine is not fit for a relationship with anyone. :hrmm: I had an amazing dad and wonderful grandparents. Not so lucky with the monster... I mean momster.
My Dad gave me a hundred dollars to buy myself a Christmas gift. Yesterday I came across an Mk bag the mercer pebbled leather crossbody. I was eyeing it for a while but I had gone away from this brand. Then I saw it on a crazy sale and they had one left with silver hardware so I was bad and jumped on it. It is wrapped and ready but kind of wish I could use it to go to the dentist today. I won't bring any of my other bags there.
Why do you avoid bringing bags to the dentist?
True it is just a massive amount of movement this year. I finally am letting many things go that are not holding their value but no longer work for me and have replaced them with things that do. Some bags were over ten years old and barely worn or some were gifts that were expensive but did not work for me but I felt guilty getting rid of them. It is painful sometimes watching how cheaply they are being sold but at the same time a relief. Knowing they will finally get some love makes it easier though.
I totally get this! Lots of movement for me too, but I think for the better. [emoji3]

I think that massive movement often comes before a settler state of happy. I think it means you finally know what isn’t working and have the insight and guts to clear that out. But you also know what does work so you have a hunger to get that in. I know that’s how it worked for me.

Since I joined this thread in 2015 through 2017 I bought something like 45 bags and sold 35. (Yeah I just counted.) That is cuckoo.

But, in the last year, I haven’t bought anything (thanks for the couple of surprises from Mr. S) and haven’t sold anything that I purchased in the 2 years prior.

I think the flurry is the last cleansing. Then you can settle into your norm whether it be no new purchases or 5 or 15 new additions a year. But since we on this thread don’t want to be flippers, the selling will really back off.

So, kudos ladies on getting your collection where it needs to go.
Oh, there's an entire "science" of bagels! What it all boils down to, though, is... um... boiling. Really. :graucho:

Thanks! Now I want to try a REAL bagel...with lox!!!

Thank you @Pessie and @catsinthebag for your input about aging of Negonda leather. I believe it'd work on gold or on other more vivid colour better because it looks now too greyish, too dull. How do you protect the corners? Can you estimate after how many months the corners would show signs of wear and tear?

These are bags. Not kidneys. So it’s not like we are withholding something people actually need.

I absolutely expect to get what I pay for and will demand that a new bag from a premier designer be “up to snuff”. But, I don’t expect superhuman perfection.
Thanks for your sympathy, Spark! Exactly! These are just bags. I almost wanted to tell her she should stop shopping if she had no extra money to spend but I am not sure if her "fun money" has been spent on clubbing or on others secondary things.

I hope you can get your Celine sold eventually. I've the same difficulties selling my Whitney but my main reason to sell is that we have a flagship store next to my office so it's too obvious how much my bag is worth, therefore, I cannot use it as a workhorse as I initially planned. I don't hate my bag so it doesn't feel a burden to sell.

I don't expect absolute perfection either if I'm going to use the bag till it breaks apart but it's different story if I've reselling in my mind at some point. You know how picky buyers can be... Sloppy finnish increases the changes of a buyer thinking the bag she bought is fake or she sees her chance of asking for a huge discount.

Still carrying my Burberry Hernville (crazy that I hadn’t carried this for ages and now I can’t stop!) during the week. Carefree PA for the weekend. (I don’t have a current picture of the PA so here’s one from holidays in October :sunshine:)

I’ll probably switch to another bag for next week.
