I went back to the mall and looked at Chanel jumbos in black lamb and black caviar. Black lamb wins hands down. No more questions on that.

But, honestly, after looking at both, I have to wonder if there isn’t a bag I’ll like more for my “special” black bag. I feel like I’m speaking heresy but, I wasn’t thrilled with either. :-s I have so many bags I like more than them.

So, it was a good exploration. Still on involuntary ban island.

Then, don’t get them. Hold on to your money. Let those merchants fight for them.

Aren't the current crop of Chanels all double-flaps? And I thought you didn't care for the double-flap design???
So maybe that's why you were left with a "meh" feeling.
I sometimes think about whether I'd like a black Chanel bag, but it would have to be (1) a reissue (I don't like the obvious double-C branding); (2) lambskin; (3) ruthenium hardware; and (4) single flap. Oh, and (5) in gorgeous nearly-new condition. Ain't gonna happen, is it?

Reissue always comes in double flap unless it’s a special seasonal design that’s based on the real reissue. Yeah... quite unlikely when combine with lamb and ruthenium hardware.

Btw, on the topic of matching items in our outfit. Yesterday I was a bit taken aback when a junior female staff, a millennial who is a member of the LGBT and who acts a bit masculine, told me, “you (she meant ‘your generation’) really coordinate your outfit!” I was wearing a pair of fuchsia pink sandals and an old rose cardigan over black slacks. (I’m trying to add a photo but the updated app does
not have the small size option as before; I’m having issues loading the optimized size.)

We joke around and have friendly banters now and then, so there’s nothing wrong with her letting out that statement. But what surprised me was the generation thing. Do younger people now not care about matching or at least coordinating? Or, could this be just because this girl has masculine taste and really do not care much about fashion?

I don’t think it’s the generation thing. I think it’s how we’re raised. The young these days are raised in more relax atmosphere and rarely care about that anymore. There’re times when jeans and big sneakers were considered appropriate for them to go anywhere and even with flip flop, although, no, it’s not. And look at the street style star these days, many of them go for extravaganza type which is clearly the most outrageous you can go, the better, which is opposite of the coordinating. I think it’s the environment and personal taste.

I think you just invented a new bag for Chanel to produce! I don’t know that the Reissue is ever made in lamb, but I love Reissues and I’d love to see one in lamb! Ditto the single flap. Maybe someday there will be a seasonal bag that fits those specs — a girl can dream, right? :P

Actually I have a single flap reissue (it’s a seasonal bag), but made in fabric which I seriously sad about it because the color of the fabric fade badly. It’d be nice if it’s made in lamb.

Dreaming is a whole lot cheaper than buying, for sure, and takes up less closet space!

What are the Reissues made of? Is it caviar? I thought I've seen photos on Instagram, and the leather looked quite soft.

It’s used to all made out of aged calf, but recently, there’re all kind of leather and material. Some season, it’d be cavier, velvet, jeans and jersey. And yes, come to think, about it, I think I remember one season when it’s made of lamb. [emoji848]

Two things:

@vink, when I was in Chanel, I looked at the flat wallets and loved them! I saw the salmon pink you have and black glazed caviar at my local Chanel. I can’t decide which color I want but, I’m leaning to black because it will work with just about all my bags and my Chanel card case is bubble gum pink. So, I’m super excited and want to go back to get one this week.

• I’m beginning to realize that no matter how much I like traditional pocketbook style satchels (top handle, more rigid form, medium to large size) that they are just not a fit for me outside of work. They are just too formal for my style, often to big in scale for my frame and a pain because they are hand / arm carry.

This is a big reason why the Celine Edge never worked for me and why my Prada bauletto rarely gets worn. :-s

So, given that I’m also not a tote fan, never have been big on hobos or non travel backpacks and fear I’ll forget a clutch if I carry one, I’m definitely seeing that I’m a small to medium shoulder bag or crossbody / messenger gal.

I’m not ruling out ever getting another non work satchel. It just will have to be either a convertible style with a shoulder strap or something really fun and not the traditional type.

It helps to know myself. Keeps down mistakes. LOL!

Get that wallet! Fast! [emoji16][emoji16][emoji16]

I really worry about selling more expensive bags online because while I don’t care about taking a $100 hit if I’m defrauded, I’ll have to take to my fainting couch if I lose thousands of dollars.

So, sent off photos of my LE black patent Chanel to 4 consignors. As usual, Yoogis & Rebag were the lowest and then Fashionphile with Ann’s Fabulous Finds being the highest. If I sell through AFF, I’ll get just about what I’d receive if I sold it myself online so off she goes on Monday! Yay! That’s one less worry. :amuse:

And, I have my last surgery today. Wish me luck!

I wish you the best of luck for the surgery on Monday! Good luck!

Unless I determine to buy something for sure, all boutique intimidate me. I feel like the SA are out for my money. But then again, I’m such a chicken. Even the BA at MAC intimidate me. [emoji28]

To kick off the month and kill off this month's quota, I received a box today and inside is something I've been looking for for a long time.

I love this bag since it came out, never get a chance to try one until it's gone, but somehow think this can be the right size (which lucky me it is), and finally, after years, I finally found one in the color that I love and the exact size that I like, and in a price that's too good to miss.

So, my addition for this month, a medium size Diorissimo in raspberry. [emoji4]

(isn't it funny we just discussed that they often discontinued bags too fast and too many? [emoji16]) IMG_20180706_220759.jpg

As much as I’m not a pink girl, this bag is sooo adorable!

Today was my pink Prada Mini double zip. Love!
Yes. All the classic flap jumbos are double flaps. But, it didn’t matter for trying them on. From the front, they look the same as a SF.
I’m not a millennial or LGBT but, I’m not big on a lot of matching. I am, however, very big in coordinating or harmonizing so my outfits look purposeful and finished.

LOL! I adore flaps. But I’m not sure about a black Chanel.
I’m not sure. It would likely be a feminine styled flap, in a great leather with shw / rhw / ghw or bhw.

I’ll go anywhere. The SA’s are there to help us. So, I figure as long as I’m pleasant, everything will be fine.

Of the brands, I find Dior SA’s to absolutely be the nicest no matter where I am across the globe. Chanel is a distant second. LV is hit or miss. I’ve only been in an Hermes twice and they seemed disinterested in engaging.

I used to find LV SAs to be very snobbish, but that’s changed over the years. I think they may have put some effort into changing their culture.

With Hermes, I think some of the SAs — especially in more touristy areas — just get tired of people walking in and asking for a Birkin right off the bat. If you approach them about a scarf, bracelet or non-Birkin or Kelly bag, they’ll probably loosen up right away. Although it also really depends on the store. Many H SAs really love it when they find you appreciate the history of the brand and the quality of the product, rather than just looking for the It Bag.
