Thanks to all of you for the warm get well wishes. I just love my purse sisters. you are all so sweet!

Rest, books, TV. No online shopping is interesting me.

But, I’m bored silly. I have a second surgery on the 13th. I wanted to get everything out of the way so I can get back to life.

How are you feeling?

Wow, a second surgery! That’s a lot. Is this all to fix your knee? (if that question is too intrusive, just ignore me!)

Glad to hear you’re doing ok, except for the boredom!

I know, talk about first world problems. Can't bounce back from 7 course tasting menus with paired wines as well as I could in my twenties. Cue the violin! Hahahaha
LOL! This cracked me up! I’m glad you had fun!
Oh, and here's my travel bag!View attachment 4089237
LOOOOVE your travel case. So retro chic. Can you fit much since it’s round?
Rant coming up!!

So about 2 years ago, I offered many bags for sale at the office. These were mostly my RMs (Rebecca Minkoff). One co-worker got 2 MAMs (black and orange). A few days later though, she told me that her husband just gifted her with a bag so she is returning the black MAM. That was fine. What was not acceptable to me was the state of the bag. She folded the leather in storage, so the short time the bag was with her, it already developed a crease! Good thing another co-worker who was not too meticulous about bags bought that. (I think I ranted about this in the 2016 thread.)

Then, today, she was showing me the orange bag (after about 2 years!) - how there is an issue with the handle. That she was able to use it one time only. She mentioned before that there was an issue, but I didn't expect that she would return it to me!!! And again, the thing that irked me is how the bag has been handled! There is storage smell. The bag is folded in whatever way. But of course, I don't want conflicts so I just offered to give her money back in full. She did not hesitate to accept.

Rant over.
OMG! :cursing: What an awful person!!!! A cheat and likely a liar. I’m so sorry for you. I wish we could all go to work with you and give her a good bag slap. :bagslap:
Wow. That is just unbelievable! You’re a better person than I am — I would have told her I couldn’t accept the bag back in that condition. But I do understand not wanting conflicts at work.

Can you imagine how this person must be in her personal life? :yucky:

Be ready, though — I have no doubt she will try to pull this again, the next time you have bags for sale. You might want to be prepared to very sweetly tell her that you can’t sell to her — you’re no longer accepting returns and don’t want her to end up unhappy! :P
I agree, cats. I wouldn’t have accepted the return on the second bag. Msd is a sweetheart to have done so.

And I bet this person is horrible in all her life. I bet she drives her hubby and children nuts. Or maybe all of them are theives. Who knows? SMH!
Some people don't understand that people selling off their used bags for cheap are not stores with business insurance who can factor in these types of customers into their business plans. All sales final should be assumed.
Completely agree!! People are getting a deal when they buy preloved from an individual. If they want return policies, etc. then they need to purchase new.
I had a woman buy a watch off me. She told me she needed a new one because he son put hers in a vice and broke it. I told her to try it on and make sure everything is fine. A month later she tells me she wants to return it and said it's to small and that the spare links are bent. I stuck to my guns and said no. She was furious that I wouldn't take it back . The watch was in mint condition when I gave it to her. For me it was not about the money it was about the fact the she had it for a month and I didn't know what she did to it.
Exactly. I’m glad you stuck to your guns. Last year, someone purchase a diamond pendant from me on Tradesy. Two months after purchase she claimed that she had it inspected by a jewelry and they said some of the diamonds were real and some weren’t. (That makes zero sense) She also claimed the metal was silver and not white gold. :rolleyes:Given that I had purchased this new in store, I knew that wasn’t the case. She likely either changed out the diamonds and wanted to send junk back to me or she needed the money back. Luckily she was outside of Tradesy’s return window. Some sellers are such charlatans.

It’s been Murphy’s Law with me the past couple of months

I had a knee injury in Feb (left). I didn’t want surgery but finally had to give in. That’s what I had on Friday.

Meanwhile, I’ve developed a bone spur on my right foot which will be removed on the 13th. Again, I was dragging my feet (pun intended. LOL!) on getting that done. I’ve known I needed that surgery for a couple years.

Aaaaand, I broke my toe (left) a few weeks ago stumbling around in the dark and ran into the bathroom door. (typical clumsy Sagittarius. LOL!) So that bone is rumbling around in there. Hope it heals soon. LOL!
Mr. Sparkle said that if I injure anything else, he is going to wrap me in bubble wrap.

Happily, my surgeon and the physical therapist said I’m doing really well - much better than they could have expected. :yahoo:I chalk it up to working out regularly. I also did a lot of pre-hab before surgery to try to make sure specific muscles were strong and flexible. I hate, hate, HATE working out with the fiery flames of Hades. But it does have its benefits. So... :shrugs:

Didn’t you say you’ve been needing knee surgery as well?

that's awful  i am so sorry for you! :hugs:
P.S. if that was me, i'd never accept that after 2 years, but, since you are such a Sweet person, just give her back the money in the lowest possible coins (you can get them from the bank), or just take small notes, and mess them up, put some honey, chocolate paste on you fingers, and knead the notes to make them look bad and soiled, and then put them all onto her desk in front of all! I am just so angry for you!!!

Wow, I can’t believe that diamond pendant story! Some people! :cursing:

Yes, I have to have knee surgery, although probably less involved than yours — I just need to have a piece of torn cartilage removed from my left knee. Probably an old injury, but it’s gotten to the point where I can’t walk much without pain, so it’s time to take care of it. Surgery is scheduled for the end of July. I think the woman who does the scheduling mis-heard me when I said “anytime after the 4th,” and put me in for the 24th, but no matter — it will give me a chance to visit my parents before getting my knee fixed.

That is some run of injuries. I broke my little toe running into a doorway a few years ago, and I couldn’t believe how badly it hurt! I remember just howling for a few minutes before I could even move! It’s amazing how just a small thing can hurt that much! Anyway, I think you’ve had your set of three things happen and should be done for a while! :P

Yes. I read that news. May she Rest In Peace. I read her interview when she was at the top of her game a couple of time and she has admirable attitude. Her designs are cute and classy. I’m glad I have a few pieces from the year when she still designed for her own brand.

Sounds like we have / had similar injuries. Mine was cartilage removal too. Don’t worry. The surgery is quick and recovery has been super easy. Just keep it iced as much as possible. You’ll do fine. :flowers:

I just saw this. So very sad. I hate to think no one was there to help pull her out of her sadness and pain. She has a young daughter. I hope family will circle around her during this time.
