Rant coming up!!

So about 2 years ago, I offered many bags for sale at the office. These were mostly my RMs (Rebecca Minkoff). One co-worker got 2 MAMs (black and orange). A few days later though, she told me that her husband just gifted her with a bag so she is returning the black MAM. That was fine. What was not acceptable to me was the state of the bag. She folded the leather in storage, so the short time the bag was with her, it already developed a crease! Good thing another co-worker who was not too meticulous about bags bought that. (I think I ranted about this in the 2016 thread.)

Then, today, she was showing me the orange bag (after about 2 years!) - how there is an issue with the handle. That she was able to use it one time only. She mentioned before that there was an issue, but I didn't expect that she would return it to me!!! And again, the thing that irked me is how the bag has been handled! There is storage smell. The bag is folded in whatever way. But of course, I don't want conflicts so I just offered to give her money back in full. She did not hesitate to accept.

Rant over.
Oh.... Wow.... Some people. I'd say you should never sell bags to her again. She's so full of herself. I'm sorry you have to go through this.

And you're too kind to accept return. It's been 2 years.

Wow. That is just unbelievable! You’re a better person than I am — I would have told her I couldn’t accept the bag back in that condition. But I do understand not wanting conflicts at work.

Can you imagine how this person must be in her personal life? :yucky:

Be ready, though — I have no doubt she will try to pull this again, the next time you have bags for sale. You might want to be prepared to very sweetly tell her that you can’t sell to her — you’re no longer accepting returns and don’t want her to end up unhappy! :P
I'd second this.

Thanks for your support ladies! Even if she would be interested next time around, I will not sell to her! I like the car analogy! She is from another department, but under the same Group as ours. There are just 2 of them there that take a look at my bags. I will just offer to my department next time. I almost told her that I couldn't accept the bag. But it is a difficult spot for me since I am an officer and then she is from the lower ranks. The amount involved is not huge so I swallowed it... And then I have to smile whenever I bump into her.
ETA: I hope it is just naivete on her part for thinking it is all right to return. Or am I the naive one? Lol.
No. She's selfish and taking advantage of you. I'd been in this kind of situation before. Just say no to her next time if she ask even just to look.

I wish you hadn't done that. Did you tell her at least the she ruined the bag. It is not fair and might give others the idea to do the same thing. What are you going to do with it now?

I think she knows perfectly well what she did. She probably needed some money and didn't want the bag anymore. I am so angry for you.

I had a woman buy a watch off me. She told me she needed a new one because he son put hers in a vice and broke it. I told her to try it on and make sure everything is fine. A month later she tells me she wants to return it and said it's to small and that the spare links are bent. I stuck to my guns and said no. She was furious that I wouldn't take it back . The watch was in mint condition when I gave it to her. For me it was not about the money it was about the fact the she had it for a month and I didn't know what she did to it.

I’m trying not to get too mad about the situation because last week I had an episode of high blood pressure and had to be brought to the E.R., first time it happened to me. So I’m trying to be calm, although I did complain to one co-worker/friend. And she said the same thing - that maybe this lady is in need of some money.

Oh now I remember another detail of our conversation, this lady was saying that if maybe there was a long strap, she could still use the bag since there is square hardware where the strap could be hooked. I was about to tell her that there are a lot of straps available in the market, but then I didn’t want to prolong my discussion with her, so I just offered the refund. I may give the bag to my house helper if she wants it.

Thanks to all of you for the warm get well wishes. I just love my purse sisters. you are all so sweet!

I hope you mend quickly! How are you keeping yourself entertained while you heal? Books? Movies? Plenty of rest, I hope??? :ghi5:
Rest, books, TV. No online shopping is interesting me.

But, I’m bored silly. I have a second surgery on the 13th. I wanted to get everything out of the way so I can get back to life.

How are you feeling?
