And now I am on the mend, thanks to my great surgeon and most of all my wonderful DH, who has been keeping me well nourished and taking me on neighborhood walks to get my strength back.

No interesting bag news to report, since I haven't been going anyplace that requires a handbag! My first "real" outing will be back to the surgeon's office next Thursday. After he gives me his blessing, I'll be able to drive again and that will REALLY feel great.

In the meantime, I can recommend the book "The Last Painting of Sara de Vos" by Dominic Smith and, for David Balducci fans, the entire King & Maxwell series (but it's best to read them in order). Also "The Children Act" by Ian McEwan is quite a tense novel, but he's a great writer.
Best wishes for your speedy recovery, Elaine! Nice that DH is helpful. You have trained him well.

I love the Halzan, but you know what? The strap is just a little short for crossbody wear on me. I tried it on a few times and always wished the drop was just an inch or two longer. For that price, it was a compromise I wasn’t willing to make. Great bag, though!

When I was going between the DS and GP, the Hazlan was also another on the radar, total plus point that the newer ones are lined but I didn't like the flat handles, really felt disappointing and oddly proportioned and in the hand, I would worry they would stretch with any weight in the bag, would have never have used it. All the ways H promote the Hazlan to be carried, if I take away clutch and hand-held tote, the cross-body is a bit short on me too (not well endowed but I do wear proper coats and the bag's too big and high to wear under one) in the end the I was left with 'shoulder bag', DS 45 represented a better bet for a shoulder bag. A DS would still be nice.

I like to add to the shoe talk. All my online shoe shopping has helped me understand my feet. Well, not that I don't have questions anymore. But more like I am able to identify the issues. I had always been a perfect size 8M (though for boots I get 8.5). But starting mid 2014, I've started feeling discomfort in some of my shoes. I tried 8W but it was also not right. A bit loose and still not comfy. Since then, I get pains with 8 but 8.5 is too loose. Plus just this year, I learned about instep or vamp. I discovered my right foot has higher vamp than left and I understood why some shoes felt different between my right and left foot. And, I am now confused which of my left or right foot is longer. All the while I know left is longer, but then my right is more often the one feeling uncomfortable. So which is it really? I thought I knew my size in Tory Burch as most of its shoes fit large. But my last 2 online purchases were a bit on the tight side lengthwise. Is it the shoe or is it my foot? I've decided that henceforth, I will get 8.5 and just use insoles to tighten the fit if needed. But then there are some brands which don't carry half sizes.

I found a pair of inexpensive pointed kitten heels pump at Selfridges. Left feels right, but right gives me callus. How is that when I thought my right is my smaller foot.

Callus normally means rub rather than constriction.

All this talk about shoes...well, confession time. I must be having a mid-life crisis.
In the span of 10 days, I have bought 7 pairs of shoes..and they are all comfortable:shocked:

Confession #2 ..not another scarf! Yes I constipated it for days and finally pulled the trigger

Jardins de Sintra in the silvery colorway and shown here on @Croisette (who has the most sensational collection and is the worst enabler:hugs:)

I “rationalized” it as silver anniversary year and we honeymooned in Portugal and visited Sintra, and cuz it’s sold out everywhere and I have to travel to Canada to get it and since I’m headed there next week, and I like neutral colorways and, and, and...

Some things are so worth it. `It is a remarkably beautiful scarf design ad cw that bridges between classic H and contemporary.

I've never bought that many shoes at once but I think you'll feel less bad if I tell you I prob bought 6 scarves this season (new and new-to-me) when I resolved only 2 and slightly jewellery obsessed right now. Looking at AW18 scarves to come I'm not sorry. What I'm waiting for is a predominantly warm browns miel/rust/bric/ocre CSGM in an amazing design.

My stats for May:

Bags: 1 in, 1 out.

SLGs: 0 in, 0 out.

I also sold an Hermes belt I had totally stopped wearing. I have another couple of bags on the potential chopping block — one I’ll send to my sister if she still wants it, the other I may wait to consign as it’s an autumn color, not sure yet. Do certain colors sell more readily or for a higher price depending on the season?

There is a seasonal fashion slant with saleability of colours. I think good condition proper (non-salmon) pinks and reds always sell really well. mid-darker browns tend to hang around whatever the weather. I like brown, I think it's a fashion thing.

* I've put in for a quote(s) on a bespoke croc/semi-precious charm/key fob from Asprey. It depends on the varying prices of the stones. Total indulgence but I also figure I can wear one as a necklace (after all less precious fashion jewellery can be as expensive).

I am hoping we get some funny pictures!
not sure if they are funny, but i definitely had a great time, and hope, so did my Cabat, we visited BV exhibition in Dubai mall yesterday, where lots of iconic pieces from 2000 till today from Italian museum were shown

i tried to weave a Cabat myself!!! :yahoo:

Thanks, I see what you mean. If you are talking about your Rouge H beauty with the handles that are too short for your preference, then I would buy one of those at any time in the year, not just fall. Since you are talking about online consignment I’ll reference when I’ve sold items with online consignment. I actually like to see my darker items listed at the same time as more numerous lighter coloured items and vice versa because I think it made my items stand out more and they sold more quickly (ex. Poudre Mahina L vs 5-6 black or dark brown Mahinas and Bleu Nuit Alma Pm vs. 5-6 lighter coloured Almas). The pricing was comparable for the different colours and similar condition.
Hope it helps!

This is exactly the perspective I was looking for, thanks! :flowers:

And yes, it is the bag you’re thinking of. I know I should sell but also not sure I’m completely emotionally ready. I know that sounds silly!

That sounds really cool! Please post a pic if you get it.
