And now I am on the mend, thanks to my great surgeon and most of all my wonderful DH, who has been keeping me well nourished and taking me on neighborhood walks to get my strength back.

No interesting bag news to report, since I haven't been going anyplace that requires a handbag! My first "real" outing will be back to the surgeon's office next Thursday. After he gives me his blessing, I'll be able to drive again and that will REALLY feel great.

In the meantime, I can recommend the book "The Last Painting of Sara de Vos" by Dominic Smith and, for David Balducci fans, the entire King & Maxwell series (but it's best to read them in order). Also "The Children Act" by Ian McEwan is quite a tense novel, but he's a great writer.

So glad you’re back, Elaine! Hope you continue to have a speedy recovery.

My stats for May:

Bags: 1 in, 1 out.

SLGs: 0 in, 0 out.

I also sold an Hermes belt I had totally stopped wearing. I have another couple of bags on the potential chopping block — one I’ll send to my sister if she still wants it, the other I may wait to consign as it’s an autumn color, not sure yet. Do certain colors sell more readily or for a higher price depending on the season?

Best wishes for a smooth and speedy recovery Elaine! And great stats, you made me chuckle, 1 gallbladder out!

Kept my Balenciaga Velo AJ in Black and Prada Corsaire in Olive. I sold my LV Iena MM in DA. I think I can not have a bag bigger than the Velo unless it is nylon. Leather bags with any dimension more than 13 inches are too heavy for me. The direction I may go in from here will be smaller bags.
Great insight on the size/weight analysis. I admire your tight curating skills! I love the Velo!

I was browsing MZ Wallace bags last night, I liked their backpacks, too. Here's mine along with my backpack/diaper bag.

Great stats catsinthebag. I don’t know about colours selling for a higher price, except for maybe black and hot seasonal colours. I do know my consignment store likes to stick to selling what is in season, probably so they don’t have to store it. I would imagine in season colours sell better unless there’s a good discount on an off season colour. Again it would depend on your audience and selling platform. Sorry, rereading this I don’t think it is a particularly helpful answer.

I think it was my post that wasn’t clear. I didn’t mean colors in season like a particular color that is that brand’s Blue for this particular season that you’ll never see again. I meant it more like, does it make sense to wait until fall to sell a burgundy or forest green bag, or to sell, say, a bright yellow bag in the summertime?

There’s so much I don’t know about the market, which is part of why I go through online consignment. When I sold my Fendi Petite 2Jours, which had a monogrammed tag, I wrote to them asking if the price would be different if I went and bought a new blank tag rather than sending the monogrammed one. To my surprise, they said they would price the bag the same way, regardless of whether the tag was monogrammed or not. That’s when I realized I was making assumptions about consignment pricing that may not be based in reality!

Thanks, I see what you mean. If you are talking about your Rouge H beauty with the handles that are too short for your preference, then I would buy one of those at any time in the year, not just fall. Since you are talking about online consignment I’ll reference when I’ve sold items with online consignment. I actually like to see my darker items listed at the same time as more numerous lighter coloured items and vice versa because I think it made my items stand out more and they sold more quickly (ex. Poudre Mahina L vs 5-6 black or dark brown Mahinas and Bleu Nuit Alma Pm vs. 5-6 lighter coloured Almas). The pricing was comparable for the different colours and similar condition.
Hope it helps!

Congratulations!!! This is much better than any bags and accessories. [emoji16]
