Sale season is approaching, earlier than ever it seems.

Anyone tempted by anything lately, sale or not on sale?

Or will you be watching from the sidelines??

Hoping to be as good as I can be from the sidelines. [emoji56]
Not tempted by any new (non)sale bags, but i found my year resolution dream bag, pre-loved, in great condition and at a very good price.
Mea culpa, i bought it.
But i don't want to break my ban, thus, i am not using it till September, i just couldn't miss the chance, as there might not be another. But i want to stay where i currently am and enjoy shopping my own closet.
I am really tempted to keep it hidden and let it be my bday pressie

Let’s do two challenges from now through June 1

@dcooney4 ‘s
Accessorizing our Bags challenge ;) - Spruce up a favorite bag with a scarf, charm or just a cute outfit

@ksuromax ‘s
“Anticipating Summer” Challenge :coolio: -
Showcase our straw, fabric, canvas, jute, and other non-leather bags. You can wear them or just show off pictures.
i'm in!! :yahoo:

Funny. We are just talking about colors and, today, I did the reverse of what I’ve been doing. I’m wearing pink so I wanted a neutral bag. That got me into my ivory Chanel.

I definitely need neutrals and colors in my bag wardrobe. I can’t be happy with just one or the other.

Question for everyone: if you had to pick only ONE color for your bag(s) in your wardrobe and it couldn’t be the safe choices of black or brown, what would it be?
i need variety, too, as i always do bright/neutral combos.
either silver, or bordeaux

I have red hair so for me I wouldn’t choose red.
for me and my red copper hair red/bordeaux is a very safe option :)
If I had to pick a color other than black, I’d pick silver. I could go quiet with a dark gunmetal shade of silver or blingy with a bright and shiny shade.

If I had to pick a colorful color, it would definitely be red. I’d get one dark bordeaux and a bright lipstick / cherry red.

But, while I could halfway live with just the silvers, the reds would exhaust me after a while and I’d crave the ability to carry any other color.
great minds think alike :graucho:

I haven’t seen any challenge pics. Anyone dressing up their bags or ready to show off their summer (straw, jute, etc.) bags?
here's mine - i got this dog last Friday, been wearing it since then!
this is that Bal i got in the end of Jan, and for now it's my most used bag, she is really i big success!

And my 2 other bags just sold!! Though on installment terms (that is normally how it is when selling in my office). Good enough for me! I just said bye bye to my red small Longchamp Cuir and blue medium Longchamp Cuir. I think these 2 bags have identity crisis in my collection. They are super nice leather bags, but the style is casual. They didn't normally get worn during office days (except maybe during casual wear Fridays). When I travel, I use the nylon Longchamps. So maybe they are better off with their new owners.
this is amazing!! Congrats!
CONGRATS on your sales. I know how hard it is for you sell in your market. So yay!!!

It’s interesting that you’ve made this switch (in bold) as I’ve been shifting a little bit from my adamant preference for preowned.

I’ve gotten some amazing preloved deals but slowly switched to buying new. I’m a little wearying of the hunting / authentication / refurb hassle. But, mostly it’s impatience. My collection is finally in a great place. So, when I add, it’s to fill a specific gap. If I want a purple feathered XYZ, I want the purple feathered XYZ now...not when someone else has decided to sell theirs. :-s

Also, when I was still figuring out my collection, I bought preloved to minimize losses on the highly likely chance I may flip the bag. Now, however, I am clear on what I want. 4 of my last 7 adds were brand new and (gasp!) full price. But they’re some of my best ever buys - I’ve worn them a LOT and still love them to pieces! Knowing what I want - and more importantly what I will keep - let’s me buy new because I’m not going to lose money from selling.

So, ideally, I’d buy everything new on sale. The problem is, most of the brands I’m most interested now in don’t have sales.

And, to add to the confusion, the only bags I really want from two of my favorite brands - Chanel and Dior - were made in previous seasons. So I still have to buy them preloved. :shrugs:

Anyone else changing their bag buying approach? Preloved to new? New to preloved? Big to small? Colorful to neutrals? Expensive to reasonably priced? Leather to vegan? Domestic brands to other sources? Change in preferred style? If so, what is the change and why?
i have changed slightly and lately, in the beginning of my collection building i was mainly buying p/l, solely due to affordability, but slowly i acquired enough to do some assessment and understand better what works for me and which way to go further, and then i started buying new, preferably with a promo, or on sale, some at full price. And now i prefer to buy new, but nothing at the moment is tempting, either they are not 'forever' bags to pay full price, or they don't 'click' :)
i have found finally what i was planning in the begining of the year, pre-loved, as it was discontinued a few years ago, so i'm open to any option if it ticks all the boxes :)

I asked about change and realized I’ve made some other changes over the past few years.

• Splurging is ok - I used to fall into a dead faint at the thought of spending $300 on a bag. But, I bought loooooooots of bags. So it’s not like I didn’t spend a lot on the category. I just didn’t spend wisely. :facepalm:I ended up having 150+ cheaper bags but none to love. I had to get comfortable with spending what I “needed” to spend to get the much smaller collection of 25ish bags I truly love.

• Materials are king! - I am so “over” saffiano, caviar, patent or any other material that doesn’t have a great hand feel. I want and demand great leathers: butter soft lamb, durable yet silky feeling goat, chewy calf leather, etc.

• Smaller but not small bags - I used to carry the kitchen sink. LOL! But, I don’t have little ones or even teens anymore. So I’ve downsized from huge satchels to preferring medium sized shoulder bags / cross bodies.

• Color, color, color - I used to have color in my bag collection but always wore black or dark pewter. Now I wear my colorful bags more than the neutrals. :happydance:
Yes to gorgeous leather!
Yes to smaller bags!
Yes to colourful bags!!!

Hello all, I am late to the conversation but wanted to share nevertheless. In my collection, I have two pairs of siblings and several LC LPs. First pair are the Mulberry Bayswaters. The mole grey one was my first premium bag - and then I could not resist the dusty rose one at Bicester Village. Second pair are the H GPs, which answers another question. They are under my most worn bags - always handheld or in the crook of my arm. Under the radar, easy to access, work stuff fits perfectly. And lightweight, which is a problem with the grey Bays, sadly. So I vote for the Garden Party! (And I am certainly the gold / caramel type.)

Gorgeous Bays. I feel like I really missed the boat on these before the brand change.
Thank you! That is actually what I am trying to do: buy timeless bags which work for me. These are my go to colours, too. Black, grey, caramel, blush/dark red. I would like to add a green and / or blue bag but the right shade is hard to find... Something to look forward to and keep the eyes open! And a multi-coloured bag, too!
i want a multi colored bag, too!!

I will do Bordeaux and a deep red but not an orange red or super bright red with the shade of red my hair is. Someone took a picture of me with a red bag they asked me to hold and it looked okay but not great.

I’d say use it and be banned for the remainder of months to fill your ban “term.”

Go enjoy the dream bag!

Haha, buying for others has its perils too!

She didn’t even want it in pink (her favorite color) but asked for it in blue. So I got her the blue one and it’s so gorgeous. She didn’t wait for Mother’s Day to use it, it was on her back the first work day after we got it [emoji23]

She said I should get the LV one and we can share [emoji23]
