What I would give to feel like my wardrobe was on target! Sometimes I look at my clothes and wonder which target I was firing at when I bought them! :P Any tips for wardrobe contentment?

Good luck with the surgery! How nice to know you have scarf mail coming while you’re recuperating!
No tips, but I just want to share. When I look at my closet I see a lot of white, black and blue tops. And I tell myself I want to inject some variety on the colors. And then I go shopping and a pretty blouse would have several beautiful color options. But what do I pick? Still any of white or blue or black!

I'm going to try & stay on the sidelines too. Nordstrom half-yearly sale starts on Wednesday, and I'm going to be recuperating from surgery (scheduled tomorrow) so I'm a little worried I'll be tempted to shop because I'll be feeling sorry for myself. :annoyed:

But honestly, there isn't anything I need. I'm bag content, I have all the shoes I need, and my clothing wardrobe is totally on target. I don't like to buy jewelry or coats on line. So instead I'll plan to distract myself with books... I've downloaded a few novels and mysteries on my iPad, and I'll try hard to keep away from the shopping sites.

Also, I'm expecting scarf mail by the end of the week... found something last night from a trusted seller that I've wanted for a long time, so it's not as though I'm being totally virtuous!
Sounds good, Elaine. Try to stay strong after the surgery - we are here for you if you really want distractions from shopping and encouragement to read!! And you can entertain us with your scarf mail reveal!

Sale season is approaching, earlier than ever it seems.

Anyone tempted by anything lately, sale or not on sale?

Or will you be watching from the sidelines??

Hoping to be as good as I can be from the sidelines. [emoji56]
I wanted to add, I have cut down my "online window shopping" list of stores and I only normally check the following sites: Yoox, TheOutnet, Farfetch (private sale is now on), Selfridges, Monnier Freres and Forzieri (not bought from them yet though). Plus my saved searches in ebay. And sometimes a peek at this or that store. So hopefully, temptation had been minimized?

LOL, this sounds exactly like me! Black, white, blue, maybe gray. To me, variety comes from different shades of blue! :P Today, I wore my one green shirt and had a heck of a time deciding which bag went with it!

Haha, thanks ladies!! Bags A and C are not stylish (at all) as Bag B. It really is the plainest of bag styles and I guess more on the functional side. [emoji2]

ETA: Bag C is nubuck and not suede. So I read about the difference. I thought nubuck is generally the cheaper leather of the 2. But I read it's the other way around?
I think nubuck has shorter "hair" than suade. Should be easy to clean? I'm not so sure, too.

I used to wear only white. I added blue and pink after graduation. Last year, since we were in national mourning for a year plus, now, my closet is full of black and gray. I don't like them. I actually hate them now, but they're still in good condition so I order some flat pack airtight storage bag for them yesterday. I need to put them away otherwise, it'll be easy for me to reach for them since they're becoming the majority of my closet now. (And are actually in my size!) I need to get back in shape and wear those light colors that I love again. I'm just sick of wearing them, but during a morning rush, it's just so easy to put them on.

Wish you all the best for the surgery!

I think books should be enough. Read something about sustainable fashion or how fashion ruin the world. It'll also help curve the urge to shop. [emoji16] Seriously. I recommend "to die for" and "the end of fashion". "How luxury lost its luster" is also a classic read in the category, I think. I'm sorry I couldn't remember the author's name.

It’s good to be bag content - I’m still working on that!

Terribly curious to know what books you’ll be reading and - uh - scarf mail? I’m all ears! [emoji4][emoji38][emoji4]

These neutral dark colors are really just convenient! Sometimes I am also hesitant to "retire" items of clothing that are still in good condition but I have tired of. But after some time and lack of closet space, I really have to be ruthless.

I sold a bag! I brought 3 bags to the office, and 1 has sold. There are interest for the other 2, but just that for the moment. I really did not want to attempt to sell in the office because I don't want to be the BI (bad influence ). But one friend/coworker asked to look at one specific bag so anyway I brought two more. (And this coworker has not made up her mind, it is a different coworker who instantly bought.)

The bag that sold is the Marc Jacobs Box bag. It is a small bag that I tried to use, but I feel like it's not age appropriate for me. And the one who bought it is a younger coworker who is vertically challenged, less than 5ft tall, so the bag looks good on her, even crossbody.
