Hi, everybody! As usual I was traveling late last week and all weekend. As is UNusual I was back in my home town and more busy than when I travel for work. LOL! I had a blast catching up with friends and family but I'm exhausted. It was non stop.

I did something really fun with some friends that I hadn't done before: indoor rock climbing. We went "bouldering" which means you climb without any harness / belaying. It was a little scary at first. You have to make it to the top or fall down onto the padded floor. All it took was one fall to the ground to let me know I wasn't too fond of the "pinwheeling through space onto my butt" option. So I got really good at climbing really fast. The funny thing is my forearms hurt the next day. Who ever notices their forearms???? LOL!
I never tried indoor rock climbing. But I think the gym that has that here still uses harness. I would be doubly scared to try it without harness! It requires strong upper body, I'm not sure I have that. Maybe better now than before due to some exercise routines. I remember when I fell off a banana boat into the water several years back, I could not get back into the boat even with several people helping me!

I'm leaving tomorrow morning (Tues) for the Star Trek convention :borg: in Las Vegas. :yahoo:

Since I'll be busy geeking out, I'll post my bags for the week. I don't have any Goyard or Longchamp. I do have Gucci.

This is my Gucci Teal Nubuck Shoulder Bag (it's really a cross between a shoulder bag and tote) View attachment 3781965
And my Gucci Cherry Gloss Stirrup BagView attachment 3781966
I'm in the midst of packing so I haven't been able to show any non bag items that I have from each brand unless I can pull an archived photo from TPF. And most things I'd never have had a reason to show since it's a purse forum. LOL!

I bought these Gucci horsebit YG drop hoops earlier this year View attachment 3781974
I love Gucci sunglasses and have a couple pair but only can find a photo of these with my black PS Sm. Courier View attachment 3781975
I remember you also attended the Star Trek convention last year!

I know we are to showcase our Gucci collection, love yours, but what truly caught my eye was the beautiful leather on your Proenza!!

Your LC collection is amazing. Such variety.

I need a cuir. I just haven't found the color, yet. Maybe I can get one this year. I always like fall colors, and they always seem to be the same colors for fall.
I can't wait to see your LCs too!! I use my medium Cuir (Blue) more than the small (cherry red), but I think the leather on the red is more beautiful. What particular colors are you interested in?

I'm a little upset.

A crack in my windshield has formed.

[emoji17] my car certainly knows when to have an issue. I have a car maintenance fund, but I suddenly get conservative in spending whenever something out of the ordinary happens.

Maybe I'll have August as a 0 in month now! Lol
Sorry to hear this. So a crack means the entire windshield needs to be replaced?

I'm not sure. :(
I'll have to spend time to research and get estimates. So not fun!
After car salespeople, repair people are the least nicest people. They always seem to be so condescending and come off like they're trying to pull a fast one.

I want a burgundy cuir. They usually have burgundy for fall.

But the cuir colors are always different compared to online so I have to wait and see in person. I thought the spring blue would've been a good bright blue bag but it wasn't bright enough.

Thanks for the compliment on the PS.

Oh no! On falling out of the boat. I can't swim so that would have terrified me. I'm glad you were ok.

And I thought the rock climbing would take more upper body strength than it did. But, I actually used my legs to push myself up more than my arms to drag myself up. It was definitely a challenge though.

Spending on car maintenance is no fun. I got my first renewal notice for my car insurance. I forgot all about the annual renewal! At least it will still be a few months, the broker is just efficient in issuing reminders.
Goodluck on the Cuir!

Thanks for the compliment on the PS.

Well, a banana boat ride is like an adventure ride in a theme park, but this time out in the open seas. You actually pay for the ride. This is an attraction offered in some beaches here. A speed boat pulls the banana boat (rubber boat that is elongated and shaped like a banana) with several people slumped on it just holding on to some handles. If the speed boat driver is crazy and wants you to have more fun, he would go zigzagging really fast!! The objective really is to make the riders fall. Riders need to be wearing life vests.

Hi! So nice to hear from you! I still check in on this thread but I feel like I'm so far behind that it's hard to catch up. It's one of my favorites, though--love the people and conversations in this group. My collection has been reduced after a few cycles of purchasing the wrong things/selling them, repeat, and I think I'm better about this now (not perfect). My favorite bags are my Longchamp, Proenza Schouler PS1, and Mansur Gabriel bucket bag. I sold many of my other bags, and while I'm sure I still have more than the average woman (who probably has no idea this forum even exists!), it's pretty scaled down for me. I have also had a thing for backpacks for a few years now--so practical when traveling and running around for the day, so my Rebecca Minkoff Julian and my Tory Burch leather backpack are two regulars in the rotation. I'm also moving toward smaller bags and hands free bags.

How about you? What are you go to bags these days? Any brand that you have returned to, left, etc?
Congratulations on having developed the self awareness to know what works for you! I admire your discipline around continuously improving your collection.
My collection continues to evolve. I am in mindful purchasing and thoughtful downsizing mode. My most used bags include Longchamp Le Pliage, Hermes Etain Bolide, Chanel black Reissue 226, Hermes Etoupe Evelyne and Celine black small Phantom Cabas. I am content that I have bags that work for my lifestyle, bags that I both love and use regularly. I still admire many beautiful bags from afar and no longer feel that I need to own all of them.

Congrats everyone on their monthly totals. It looks like most people are doing really well with their goals.

I, however, am going down in flames. :whut:

Bags (Total collection: 28 plus 10 carefree)
• July: 0 out / 2 in
• YTD: 10 out / 9 in (Really, how???)

SLG's (Total collection: 6)
• July: 0 out / 0in
• YTD: 1 out / 2 in

My two adds this month were
1) a temporary fix: the black Dior tote that we've talked about here.

... and...

2) an "I soooo don't need it. I can't possibly justify it. But I want it!" bag

I finally got a yellow bag after seeing all the pretty ones here during yellow week and then dithering over whether I could make it work with my wardrobe. The deciding factors for me in taking the plunge on yellow were I got it in a bag I know I love and I got the bag for a ridiculous steal. :yahoo:

And so, I got another Miss Dior Sliding chain!!
This one in bright yellow lambskin with soft gold hardware! :hbeat:

She joins my other two Miss Dior babies in hot pink and blu persan. View attachment 3781928
I love these bags because they are super functional. They are really roomy without looking too big when I wear them. And the sliding chain let's me wear it crossbody or shoulder. I love these bags!! But now I gotta stop. No more MD SC's! LOL!
Beautiful bright Dior trio! Congratulations on your bright yellow addition.

Your Gucci bags are lovely, the teal bag is especially gorgeous- you do great with colours!

I haven't heard of that. But it sounds like fun! I need to learn to swim. It's ridiculous that I never learned. And, it's on my list of to do's for next year. :-s I would so go on that ride if I could!!

You have a gorgeous, quality collection with good variety. So I can see how you'd easily be very content!!!
And thanks for the compliments on my bags. I do like vibrant color for my bags which is why my wardrobe has gotten more neutral colors over time. LOL! Maybe, I need to try more mixing colored bags with colored clothes.

I'm happy for you!! It's not easy to be where you are, at least for a lot of us in tpf! I think your top 5 bags cover a lot of styles!

It's never too late to learn. I know the basic swimming stroke but I normally swim only to get some exercise. Plus, I'm a bit scared of deep water. Beyond 5ft and my legs sort of freeze/start to have cramps. There is just such a psychological effect on me when I realize that I'm swimming in relatively deep waters.

Longchamp remains one of my favorite brands! I actually started scaling down my bags a couple of years ago because I realized that I carry Longchamp more than anything else. I still have a couple of other brands I adore but my go to is Longchamp. I was able to pick up a Big Ben edition at the Bond Street Store in London a couple of weeks ago. It's a short handle, which I've never owned before, but it is so functional and a great size for my laptop and some files. Love it!
I love the color.

Bought my first Longchamp in July. A Large Shopping Tote I found at Winners for 40% off retail. I LOVE it and it has become a near daily carry as my "second work bag". It also accompanied me on vacation this past weekend. I never understood the appeal of LC nylon bags until I actually got and used one. Amazing, and want more of them (but now officially as of August 1, 2017 on a ban!).

For Gucci I have some more sunnies! I have not even worn a couple of them yet. Time to change that in honour of this week.
