Awesome to see you here, I've enjoyed many of your comments in this thread and in previous years threads! Great looking Big Ben Longchamp bag. How's your collection these days?

Hi! So nice to hear from you! I still check in on this thread but I feel like I'm so far behind that it's hard to catch up. It's one of my favorites, though--love the people and conversations in this group. My collection has been reduced after a few cycles of purchasing the wrong things/selling them, repeat, and I think I'm better about this now (not perfect). My favorite bags are my Longchamp, Proenza Schouler PS1, and Mansur Gabriel bucket bag. I sold many of my other bags, and while I'm sure I still have more than the average woman (who probably has no idea this forum even exists!), it's pretty scaled down for me. I have also had a thing for backpacks for a few years now--so practical when traveling and running around for the day, so my Rebecca Minkoff Julian and my Tory Burch leather backpack are two regulars in the rotation. I'm also moving toward smaller bags and hands free bags.

How about you? What are you go to bags these days? Any brand that you have returned to, left, etc?

Hi, everybody! As usual I was traveling late last week and all weekend. As is UNusual I was back in my home town and more busy than when I travel for work. LOL! I had a blast catching up with friends and family but I'm exhausted. It was non stop.

I did something really fun with some friends that I hadn't done before: indoor rock climbing. We went "bouldering" which means you climb without any harness / belaying. It was a little scary at first. You have to make it to the top or fall down onto the padded floor. All it took was one fall to the ground to let me know I wasn't too fond of the "pinwheeling through space onto my butt" option. So I got really good at climbing really fast. The funny thing is my forearms hurt the next day. Who ever notices their forearms???? LOL!

@westvillage here is a photo of the Fendi bag from the front, and also a close-up of the corner. The leatherwork is quite wonderful, because it's patchwork. The colors are cream, brown, pink, and a teensy bit of purple.
I was nervous when I first got it because I wondered if it would hold up, but I've had it for nearly 2 years and it still looks brand new!

Elaine, this is quite the bag; it's really stunning and I think ranks among the most beautiful bags I've ever seen...playful, elegant, wearable and so interesting. I've never seen one like it before. Deep congrats for recognizing such a beauty then going for it!

Trying to catch up.

@msd_bags- I'm glad everything worked out well for you with the scarves!!

And woah! On your AMQ! Yay!!! I love it. I want this in cobalt!

Your MK strap was an amazing purchase. I love how it goes so well with many of your bags. I have got to get off my rump and get one.

@NikolRitchie - Welcome!!! Painting bags sounds like fun. I like @dcooney4's suggestion to practice on a cheap bag first. I wonder if stencils might also be an option. Let us know what you do!

@paculina - congrats on your haul!

I'm sorry your other bags aren't selling. I've hit a dry spell too. :hrmm: Summer is always a bad time for bag sales. It will pick up after back to school season. So don't lose hope!

@Hobbsy - Good luck on your clean out. I'm moving across country in about 6 weeks so I send you empathetic good cleaning energy. I'm trying to do the same here. I'm NOT enjoying packing. :annoyed:

@alice87 - Right! No pressure.

@elaine - Congrats on your 3 out for 1 in! Good job in continuing to actively curate your wardrobe.

And YES I've worn my Fendi BTW sooooo much. So far I have 16 wears in just 2 months of owning. I love this bag and know I'll get another. They are sooooo functional. And, the style is classic enough where it won't date easily.

I adore yours. I'd love to find a cute multi colored one. I don't have multi colored bags and want a couple one day.

@TejasMama - I don't really have a go to bag. I'm rotating pretty well right now. But, my most used bags are my Fendi BTW & Louis Vuitton Lock Me II BB.

Thank you! The kudos go to DH as much as to me. I liked it when I saw it in Saks, but he absolutely flipped for it! I left it behind, saying I wanted to think it over, and the next morning in our hotel room he was the one strongly suggesting that I go back for it. "This bag is like nothing else in your collection" he said... and he was right! :happydance:

Congrats everyone on their monthly totals. It looks like most people are doing really well with their goals.

I, however, am going down in flames. :whut:

Bags (Total collection: 28 plus 10 carefree)
• July: 0 out / 2 in
• YTD: 10 out / 9 in (Really, how???)

SLG's (Total collection: 6)
• July: 0 out / 0in
• YTD: 1 out / 2 in

My two adds this month were
1) a temporary fix: the black Dior tote that we've talked about here.

... and...

2) an "I soooo don't need it. I can't possibly justify it. But I want it!" bag

I finally got a yellow bag after seeing all the pretty ones here during yellow week and then dithering over whether I could make it work with my wardrobe. The deciding factors for me in taking the plunge on yellow were I got it in a bag I know I love and I got the bag for a ridiculous steal. :yahoo:

And so, I got another Miss Dior Sliding chain!!
This one in bright yellow lambskin with soft gold hardware! :hbeat:

I love these bags because they are super functional. They are really roomy without looking too big when I wear them. And the sliding chain let's me wear it crossbody or shoulder. I love these bags!! But now I gotta stop. No more MD SC's! LOL!

This sounds like so much fun! It's awesome that you jumped in and tried this--trying to imagine having sore forearms!

I think you did Marie Kondo, right? I'm glad you are where you want to be (more or less) in terms of maintaining your collection. Just a few hours ago I was thinking if I could manage with, say, only 5 daily bags. While I was able to identify what these 5 bags would be, I know I want to still retain some more. In my mind I think I will be happy if I could get my collection down to 15 daily bags, and then just a few occasion bags. But this is just a dream for now, not even a target yet.

Longchamp remains one of my favorite brands! I actually started scaling down my bags a couple of years ago because I realized that I carry Longchamp more than anything else. I still have a couple of other brands I adore but my go to is Longchamp. I was able to pick up a Big Ben edition at the Bond Street Store in London a couple of weeks ago. It's a short handle, which I've never owned before, but it is so functional and a great size for my laptop and some files. Love it!

Long time no see!

Glad to see you've figured what works for you!

Love your Big Ben LP!

For a bag lover, make sure you set a realistic to you goal. 15 sounds great but if it'll stress you out trying to get there, I wouldn't force it, you know what I mean?
