I'm looking at a number of bags as potential workhorses (for me meaning bags dedicated to work / professional life) and think I need to consider weight. In the past I've carried separate computer bags and handbags. But with computers now being so tiny, I'm thinking of just having 3 bags (black, burgundy, cream) set aside for work that will function as both.

I found this article on handbags and healthy weight. I thought some of you may also want the information.

This is really good info, spark! Thanks for the link!

Here's my travel set.

Longchamp is just so easy to travel with. I can definitely wash my tote when I go home and that makes it sooo much better lol. And no guilt when I accidentally kick the bag when I stretch out.

Just picked up malasadas at Leonard's and a mix plate at Rainbow drive in. Relaxing on the balcony of the hotel now. I see why people come here lol.

Great luggage! Which island are you visiting?

I'm curious. It's seems most of us tend to buy certain color bags (and avoid others). Do you favorite bag colors correspond to your favorite colors in general?

For me they don't - which I find really odd. My favorite colors are pink and green. My favorite bag colors, however, are black, pink, blue and metallics. I wonder why there is a difference.
Have you ever found you like a bag in a color you thought you didn't generally like?

All the time! LOL! I love pretty handbags. So I can easily ike a bag in a color or even a style I typically don't like.

But, I've had to be really clear with myself. I can't buy bags that don't go with my wardrobe or style.
Have you found that you can like a bag in a color or style you don't typically like?

Sooo...I checked on the Max Mara bag and the info my BFF looked up for me was in error. (Never send a non purse lover to do a purse lovers job. LOL!) If I buy the bag in the states it will be almost $600 more expensive. That's 40% higher. :whut: Sooooo...since MM is an Italian brand, I'm going to hope that I can get it during our last stop in Rome. That way I only have to drag it on my non stop back to the US. Dragging it from city to city would be a pain. The "good" thing is that if this bag comes with a box I won't want / need to take it with me. That will save space.

I'm curious do you tend to keep your boxes for bags, jewelry, etc or discard them? I tend to keep boxes.

Keeping the boxes is new for me as well. I started keeping them after I started selling some of the Tiffany's jewelry I no longer wanted. I wished that I had kept the boxes as it helps items sell faster.
Now I keep boxes for that reason and it helps to have them when I have to move.

Hi Hi.. I'm in Paris since Thursday. Went to do my shopping the moment I drop off my luggages at home. Went to Chanel and FLP at Rue Cambon, Goyard at Saint Honore and LV at Champs Elysees. Just want to share my experience with TPFers here as this is the 1st time that I wanted to spend on Luxury bags. Sorry for the lengthy post too.

My experience at Chanel Boutique was bad, too crowded and SA was not really focusing on what I'm looking for. I wanted a Coco Handle but it was out of stock and I said to her, I have no other ideas but I can look at similar style of bags like Coco Handle. She went away for 5-10mins, came back with 3 bags and said that's all left and she walked off, no explanation or whatsoever. I was shocked at the attitude literally puts me off in buying anything from Chanel! :annoyed: After she walked off, I decided not to get anything from her or Chanel at all but she never came back! We are not rude people, so I told her colleague whom is serving another customer that I do not like the bags and I will not buy from here! The worse is probably Me and my boyfriend were in jeans, t-shirt and sneakers that do not scream any brand, the security was lurking around us as if we will run away with a few bags!!! :yucky::yucky:

Luckily after walking out of Chanel, I went to FLP which is a few doors down, the service was beyond excellent and it was quiet and pleasant to shop. There was no crazy crowd. I had liaise with a SA on email before I arrived in Paris and when I asked for her she immediately went to take out the bag that I had reserved. She was pleasant and explained to me the difference of the bag and sizes even tho I knew what I wanted. De-tax form was a breeze too as the SA prepared everything without any fuss. The Service was tremendously fantastic that I forgotten the treatment we had at Chanel.

After FLP, I went to Goyard. Altho I have to wait about 5 minutes in a queue but when it was my turn, there was a SA in line to asked me what would I like to see. I was going there to buy something on behalf of my sister in-law, so I gave him the model and he showed me what he have in stock immediately. After confirming the item, I was showed to the payment area where they called out my name to assist me with the payment. After payment was done, and the de-tax form, the SA came with the item in the package. What great customer service it was.

We walked all the way from Goyard to LV at Champs Elysees, however, when we were across the street of LV I changed my mind as I saw the long queue. Immediately, I told my boyfriend to jump in the taxi and head back home as we just took a long 13-hour flight and I was too tired by then to shop. I was happy with the FLP bag and pochette I got for the day.

The next day, my boyfriend knowing that I really wanted the Chanel bag told me that we could go to another outlet to get it if it makes me happy. I was happy that he offered so I told him sure we shall do another shopping day. This time around, we went to the Avenue Montaigne store. The store was less crowded too. I was waiting for a SA but managed to steal one whom is sending her client off at the door. I told the SA that I wanted to get a Coco Handle and she told me that it is out of stock thru out Paris and will only come in October. So I told her that I would like to look at the CC Filigree Flap that I saw one of the TPFer recently got. She checked her stock and went around to search the whole store for it. They were in panic when they could not find it and it was in their infantry. After about 10mins, they finally found it. I saw the bag and it was not really nice immediately she asked me why do I like the bag. Seeing my reaction, she burst out laughing and tell me that she know I don't like the bag. So she asked me what is the style that I am looking for and took a few for me to see. I was going to decide on 1 of the bag when she suddenly took out the CC Filigree Flap in red! The moment she took it out, I love it! She can see it in my face and told me that this is not in their infantry and she does not know why they have it. She was very pleasant to speak with and I decided to get the Filigree Flap from her. So I finally score my 1st Chanel bag!!

After we went to LV at 22 Avenue Montaigne. Again, there is no queue at all and the place is huge. There is no many people around and it is nice and pleasant to shop. I wanted a PM or a NoeNoe but again it was out of stock. I was not really devastated, as I know these are the 2 bags that are in high demand. The SA showed me a few bags and I finally decide on a Cluny.

Overall, I would say I have a pleasant shopping experience and I love that I found nicer SA for Chanel and nice SA in LV at Avenue Montigue. For those who want to avoid the crazies, it is better to go to Avenue Montigue for a better shopping experience. :p:p
