Thank you!
Doing my best. Lots of rest and meds.

Been meaning to ask, what was your necklace made of? It's really unique.
The necklace is a native product of the Philippines and if I'm not mistaken, I got it in Cebu (an island/province south of the capital). The colored stuff inside the round pendant are actually portions of capiz shells which are then laminated to that round thing (maybe plastic or something?). Initially I thought that round pendant was capiz, but I asked my coworkers who know more about crafts and they said it's the design inside that are capiz. The 'chain' is a mix of wooden beads and I don't know (haha), I'm really clueless about these things sometimes. Btw, I think capiz made products are part of our export basket.

I wish I knew of that stuff when I was younger, that would've been nice to see them make them. I have some family in Cebu!

I used to go a lot to Cebu for work related assignments. But now, I delegate some. One provincial leg of the regulatory hearing will be in Cebu in fact. The other in Davao.

I learned to accessorize only in the last couple of years. I am discovering that we have wonderful indigenous materials here, which partnered with good craftmanship can result in really beautiful pieces. Btw, I discovered through a friend a very cheap place there in Cebu for these kinds of products, although some are not designed or crafted very well so you really have to sift through.

That's a fun idea! I'll have to sit this one out because other than sometimes swapping out a strap, I don't like to put things on bags. I think my bags are beautiful as is. :hbeat:

Speaking of colors. I was busy with Mother's Day (it was Sunday in the US) that I forgot to post.

This is Jewelled and Embellished week!

So post all your beautiful jeweled, embroidered, strassed, hand painted and otherwise bedecked and bedazzled bags. View attachment 3700957
Next week is our last color week: Multicolored bags.
I am admiring from afar this week, i have only 2 small and cheap clutches with hand-made embroidery, i don't even remember where they are.... :confused1:

Finding those great craftspeople is part of the fun! We liked getting those bamboo? decorations that's like a staple in every Filipino home lol. I have engraved shells from my travels as a kid.

There's so many materials that are found in the Philippines with lots of talent! Would love to go find some artwork once we get our house. [emoji4]

I also don't think I have bags for this week.
Embellishment has been big in handbags the past couple of years. So maybe others have some great bags to show.

I have 2 bags but they aren't great. LOL! As much as I love "sparkle", I'm hesitant to invest in embellished bags because they can get dated quickly or my taste will change.

I only have two embellished bags and they hold up the "low rent" part of my collection.

• No name pewter leather studded crossbody
I keep this bag for going to semi dodgy neighborhood type places. For example, in my hometown there is a very popular place people like to go to for watching ball games etc. It's not in the best area, so if I go, I take this bag. lol!

• Aldo beaded clutch
I don't like spending money on evening bags but I go to a lot of formal events. This bag goes with almost everything at a teeny price.

I especially like the bottom clutch, it's pretty.

I don't have any bags embellished or bedazzled. I have a Coach tea rose pouch and I have a small clutch that came from the collaboration Coach and Rodarte.
