I also view certain metallics as neutral. In fact I have a pair of silver metallic flats that I wear as a neutral color.
Ooooh! Me too. I have some silver pointed toe flats. I was inspired to buy flats after we talked about my grandma saying flats = "scootums" last year. I love them. They are a nice alternative to dress up pants and jeans when I want to be casual.
Anyway, I have metallic everything. If something is metallic or sparkly but not gaudy (Yea I know - gaudy is soooo in the eye of the beholder. HA!) it runs a high risk of getting me to buy it.
The trench coat is absolutely gorgeous, spark. You say that it's lamb? So it's for winter, then? How will it do in sloppy weather???
Yep, it's lamb. And it feels amazing!!! This is the first lambskin coat I've bought. Completely indulgent and luxe!

But this is sooooooo not a working coat. This is an "I wanna look cute in perfect weather" coat. I don't know if it's "supposed" to function as a true trench coat but I wouldn't take this out in any kind of inclement weather.

I think it's fine. Tie an inexpensive black & white scarf on the handle, and it will look sharp. And b & w will go with everything.
Great idea! I was eyeballing a pretty black and white Chanel scarf on one of the online stores.

But, honestly, I'm still waffling on this bag situation for my trip and I'm less than 2 weeks out. I hadn't realized how much I spoil myself on vacations by taking a ton of bags. I really like having the right bag for the right outfit. So this idea of just taking two bags for three weeks is truly K-I-L-L-I-N-G me!

But, what really made me start reversing course is I wore my Chanel tote today. I was walking and moving about most of the day - meetings then a marathon shopping session at the mall  (Gawd, I hate in person shopping!!!!) Anyway, the tote isn't heavy in the least. So I don't know that I need a nylon one when sightseeing all day. I could take a regular one fully loaded and be just fine. But, since I don't want to buy anything on a humbug, I'm tempted to try to figure out a way to take this tote with me.

Sigh, I dunno. I probably won't know what I'm taking til I actually pack.
I knew i had to get it!!!!
it feels soooo soft and SILKY, unlike my H scarves, you what they are like, a bit stiff and thick in fabric, this one is sooo sleek....
Wait..what?!? :whut:

<she says in alarm with an Hermes scarf somehow back in her online shopping cart>

Hermes scarves are stiff?? I assumed they were silky and light.

See, this is how crazy my relationship with this thread and TPF has gotten. I hate shopping in person so I think of all of you as my trusted and knowledgeable scouts. You buy pretty things and tell me which are nice and which aren't. Then I follow and get the nice things. This works for me.

So c'mon people. Let's get it together. Sparkle needs to know what kind of scarf to buy. And for goodness sakes she doesn't want to have to go into a store and figure it out herself!!!

well, depends on what you compare :D
H scarves are soft.
but this one with houses (and more yet to be revealed) are even softer, they are like liquid silk...
if you tie a new H scarf the tips will be standing 'stiff'
this one will hang down
i will do comparison shot for you once i am back to my Treasure Cave ;)

[emoji23] [emoji23] your narrative on the hermes scarf scenario cracked me up Sparkletastic.
And i totally agree with you on shopping through others. I've saved a ton of money and time just from peoples experiences, advice and intel on items and i'm sure its the same for all across TPF platform. Its amazing how you ladies even have more knowledge on certain items than SA's!
Thanks alot ladies [emoji8] really glad to be part of this platform [emoji106]

I know we've chatted about this but, I wanted to say I really appreciate this thread and what it's done for me and my handbag collection. I know that without it, I would have had many more painful regret purchases. And, I'd never have felt challenged to "curate" my collection so that it's (relative to TPF standards lol!) tight yet versatile.

The specific example that made me want to say this is this --> I was feeling "down" on my pewter Miu Miu and silver Proenza Schouler despite them being relatively recent purchases that I loved at the time I bought. This malaise was caused by the fact I started loving the Dior silver Micronnage Diorama. However, I can't buy that bag :crybaby:because people report that it peels. So, I was feelinh grumpy and "stuck".

But, getting warm feedback from our group on these two bags helped me see them in a new light. Now, I appreciate them much more.

So, thanks. Truly. This thread is really, so very helpful. :flowers:

Thanks! I appreciate it. :flowers: I tried on random scarves today and looked like I was being eaten by a wooly yet colorful boa constrictor. I'm trusting that when I buy a decent scarf this won't happen. LOL!

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who seriously relies on tpf. :ghi5:

You make me jealous of coat culture. [emoji16] Even though it rains so hard here, wearing coat will get you stared at so hard it hurts. I had to let go of a very cute semi-transparent lavender coat on sale a couple years ago despite liking it so much (see how I still remember it after all these years?) I know I just don't have a use for it. [emoji20]

Thank you :ty:

Thank you :ty:
that was a coincidence, i did my nails on Sunday before the scarf arrived, bingo! :D

Thank you, Elaine :ty:
I have had these silver pieces for a while, and i was shopping for wool scarves from Russian famous manufacturer and i stumbled at a small section 100%Silk... i clicked the link and voila! There were a few scarves and this one was among them! Immediately i clicked "add to cart"! I knew i had to get it!!!! :D

You have the same thought as I did years ago when I touched H and Chanel scarf for the first time. Totally thicker than any silk scarf I got from China. And I mean for the higher quality that can seriously slip through my ring just like fairy tales. [emoji848]
