I left the gym tonight and my car wouldn't start. This is the second time in about 4 months that this happened. So it seems I need a new battery for my car. :annoyed:

The battery + installation will cost far less than any one wardrobe item I've purchased over the last month. So why does it feel like a tortuous financial burden / pure highway robbery for me to spend the money on it? I just don't care even a little bit about cars. I would drive a rusty 1940's school bus if it weren't for the fact that my DH insisted I get a "nice" car. I just want a box on wheels that simply GOES!

Anyone else feel no qualms about buying a handbag that costs 3 - 5 figures yet squawk loud and long at teeny bills for other stuff? :amuse:
Oh yes, I'm just the same. The car for me is something that gets me to A-B and I like to do so as cheaply as possible. I hate having to pay out money to maintain it .........,and the same goes for the house. I guess it's because you don't actually see any difference. It's a lot to spend when it still looks the same, whereas a bag, well Nough said, a new bag looks totally different than a new battery that you don't see anyway :giggle:

I'm enjoying a lovely relaxing sunshine holiday in Tenerife at the moment. I've cut down to bringing 3 bags & my GM Neverfull which doubles up as flight / beach bag this time even though we have 16 days here. I also decided to risk one in my suitcase/ hold luggage as I just couldn't be fagged with carrying them all:girlsigh:

I just wondered how many bags others take on holiday and do you put them in your hold luggage? I know mine are insured on my household policy but it would be an ordeal I'm sure to have to claim. It seems a shame though as it's an opportunity to use different bags

Usually 1 or 2, one travels with me, another (usually canvas, or cheaper one) in the luggage
this summer i plan to take my BV Cabat handleld and BV Pillow (both bright red) worn cross body, and black wristlet inside Cabat (for the nights out), all will travel with me,
and one nylon beach bag in the luggage, and MAYBE a small (black or white) woc style canvas one
Red ones will work as neutrals, nylon beach tote is coordinated with flip flops and swim suit, pareo, etc

I'm very busy lately. Too busy, I think. I broke down yesterday and bought 2 blushes. I haven't bought any makeup in ages. It's another thing I'm trying to finish my stash. Well, it does well in the area of skin care, but not much for make up. I have enough to last my life time plus some more. [emoji29]

Anyway, I didn't shop my closet lately. I ordered some bags. It's a tone I'd normally wouldn't pay attention to, but this color just catch my eyes and pull, and I surrender. [emoji28]

My MM Calista in deep fuchsia. [emoji4]

I haven't been home yet, so the last year photo will have to do. But I have more adding left at the condo which I'll take photo tonight. So, I'll submit my lot later. ;)
Beautiful color bag, vink! The leather looks deliciously, smooshy!
My one metallic bag: YSL Small Muse in bronze.

My other bag updates: the good, the bad and the ugly :crybaby:

1) Good: I returned the green Chanel for an easy refund.

2) Bad(ish): I'm still waiting on my serendipity bag to get here. I'm having a tad bit of buyer's remorse since it wasn't planned.

3) Ugly: my red Gucci Soho.

This accursed bag attracts scammers!!! I bought it new on sale. But, for selling purposes since so many Sohos are faked, I also I had it authenticated by Castira.

• After having the bag for 3 weeks, the first buyer claimed it wasn't the same color as described. It obviously was. But eBay sided with the buyer. I got the bag back with food crusted on the front and a parking receipt inside.

• I cleaned and conditioned the bag and sold it to a second buyer. Almost a month later she said it was a different size than described. It obviously wasn't but I didn't want to deal with issues so I immediately accepted the return. She shoved it unstuffed into a too small box. :annoyed:

• Now this third buyer has been Hell during the buying process. I should have followed my first mind and declined to sell as I've done with other squirrelly buyers. She contacted me across all the platforms on which I was selling the bag with a wacky lowball offer. I declined. When we eventually agreed on a price via the listing on FB, she sent me the wrong amount. I contacted her to get the remaining amount which she called "whining about nothing". Then she accused me of "selling the bag out from under her" because I removed the listings on other sites. (Why would she think it would stay listed as available?) I assured her the bag was being sent to her. When I mailed the bag, I emailed the tracking number to her. She sent me three emails claiming she didn't receive the tracking info. I responded to each of them with the tracking number and then just gave up and ignored the additional emails she sent.

Now, she claims her sister "knows" Gucci and declared it a fake. (What the heck?) I called her to discuss. As soon as I identified myself, she cursed me out and hung up. I offered my receipt and the Castira authentication to PayPal as proof. They sided with the buyer. :cursing: Really??? Why say you have an investigation process if you will always just side with the buyer? So the bag is headed back to me. Well... I hope it's the bag and not a fake she swapped it with.

I have no idea why this bag is cursed. I have never had issues like this selling anything. This is a beautiful bag. I'm only selling it because I have two other red bags I wear and I just never wore this one. I've sold cheaper bags and more expensive bags. But, honestly, I'm sick of this bag. I'm thinking I'll give it to DD. Or maybe I should just burn it at midnight under a full moon while dancing naked and praying for protection from the handbag gods.:panic: Ok...soooo...nix the naked dancing part.

I'm a huge advocate of people selling their own bags to avoid commissions. It's always worked out well for me. But this has put a really bad taste in my mouth. Is it so hard for people to be honest??? Sheesh.

I haven't put anything on ebay for the last 4 months because of their craziness. All my friends have left and gone to etsy/VC/etc. It's become so much of a public joke a couple of weeks ago there was an article in the Sunday Times Magazine.

PP and th-Ebay both side with the buyer automatically (that's the automated system). I called PP when the stupid woman who bought my fox hat couldn't be asked to read the description. Happily, she was too lazy to send it back so PP found for me. Call PP or EB to stand any chance. Now taking pics showing the tape measure as well the dimensions.

Additionally, ebay are breaking (at least) UK law's concerning auctions. One guy got so PO with non-payers he took the next 'buyer' to UK court and won. Ebay should black-list non-payers (or people who send the wrong amount purposely).

Don't blame your lovely bag, fleEbay has now become too well known for 'free' stuff.

So, here're my metallic.

These are the last year lot.

I still have them. Plus these two. [emoji4]

Love your metallics! Especially the copper Chanel and the cute little Jaspal box.

I'm usually take quite a few. For 10-14 days I'll take 6-7 because I need day, evening & beach bags as we almost always go somewhere with nice activities and water. I like to look my best on vacay so I need my best bags (which of course change with my mood) LOL! That's why my upcoming trip is hard. I am limiting myself to 2 bags for 3 weeks. :panic:

I keep my bags in my carryons. I'd go crazy thinking of them potentially getting stolen in checked luggage. :whut: I have to arrive with my bags and my bras LOL! I can buy anything else when I get to my destination if need be.;)

I'm late for the browns week. Sorry a collage is all I can manage now. As you can see, my browns are really mostly taupe. Though I get attracted to brown bags, it is hard for me to incorporate them into my wardrobe. So I try to stay away.

Clockwise: LV Stresa, Fendi Pequin hobo, MZW Paige, Marc Jacobs The Box bag, AMQueen small Padlock and Christian Dior Panarea.

Actually the Fendi has been up for sale since late last year. I'm trying to decide if I shoukd take down the listing and just use the bag. I have difficulty with the hobo style.

Lovin' the Dior!!!

Have you tried different colour pouches in the Fendi. Organisation is top-priority for hobos (for me worth it)

Those two along with the pewter Miu Miu and silver PS will have to wait til 2018 to get replaced because I don't see any options I love in the market right now. I'd also love to have another RG bag one day.

These are stunning ( about your Dior but you know what's best for you)

Re: my cursed bag. I'm not sure what I'm going to do when it gets here, I'll let it sit in the purgatory box for a while. I'm just sick of thinking about it. But I am disgusted with humanity.

Re: travel bag. I decided I'm taking my LV & grey/silvery Jimmy Choo. The JC is neutral and fits a lot. And I figured that like with shoes I should take bags I'm used to. The JC has a nice wide strap, is extremely light weight and will pack flat. It definitely can be a bit of a black hole but nobody's perfect. LOL! I just can't bear buying a rush decision "almost" bag.

And, maybe I'll find a great bag at Chanel or with one of the leather goods craftsman in Italy.

I can't believe I was actually on-theme yesterday and totally by coincidence too as I hadn't looked first.

Silver is my middle name (actually a family name) so I count it as a neutral.

Silver Cambridge satchel. The finish is rubbing off a little on the top but these satchels look better worn-in and let's face it, it was always a bit of a beater bag even when new, I wear it when I don't care. More metallics to follow...

I know. [emoji4] There's also a similar thread in the financial section of the forum regarding this issue. Well, I don't like paying for a big car maintenance, but I know for a clueless like me, it's easier than to have it break on me. Plus, I drive a long way very often (twice a week) so I have to suck it up. Yeah... I know I'd love to spend it on stuff I like, yeah... but sometimes, I have to suck it up, too. [emoji20]

I agree with you, vink. I have a long commute twice weekly, and don't want to worry about having a problem, so I suck it up. I'm not necessarily happy about it though.

@Sparkletastic Even though I really don't know what you look like, I have a pretty good idea of your great sense of style. Picturing you driving a 1940's school bus made me chuckle a bit.

@ksuromax I also agree with you on DH's car related expenses. Mine doesn't understand my fascination with bags, but he doesn't criticize it either. He currently has 2 cars, and is looking at a 3rd. We can fit 3 cars in our garage but not 4. I assumed he was going to sell one of his others; but no, he found a place that he can store one of them at, "a car closet"! [emoji23]

I don't like spending money on routine home repairs, but I do like keeping our house updated and don't mind spending money on appliances, furniture and home decor when needed.

I get the most pleasure from buying a new handbag though! [emoji162]
