The thing with Barenia is that even if you think your hands are dry, they can definitely cause a very minor smudge on the bag. I am assuming that once I or H spa go over the whole bag with any kind of baume those types of smudges will even out. When Barenia really stains I think it is from oily spills.
The "edgy fashion" thread is mine and yep, I was super worried that in my lots-of-black lots-of-edge wardrobe Gold might not be the best choice (especially having both B and K in gold), but I've seen people all in black with a gold bag look amazing. Personally I love Gold because it is the BEST with jeans. So, yes - one of my uniforms is T-shirt/jeans/scarf/boots and another is silk blouse/jeans/heels or boots - and Gold works PERFECTLY with both outfits. If I wear all black, personally I will carry a darker bag, preferably black, but that's not a rule at all. @arabesques shows gold with black on her blog a few times, I think (Aesthetic Alterations) and naturally it looks fabulous.
I also agree that with a 14-month-old you are going to be gravitating to different bags and IF (if) the K isn't your favorite right now that may not always be the case.

I totally agree! I love Etoupe on others or by itself and do NOT like it on me at all. Gold for day, black for night, and you're covered :) I wear Gold year-round, for instance if I am wearing a camel coat it's fantastic.

Interesting info about the Barenia. Of course this is a leather that many of us start out intimidated by and then get obsessed with. I wish that the olive looking or navy looking Barenia was still available. Maybe someday, you never know!
How funny, I forgot that edgy/Hermes thread was yours! Well I guess I don't have to remind you about it then. That thread gives me a lot of inspiration. I think that is where I first saw your toolbox?
I really never wear jeans, maybe once every 5 years. I think that is part of the problem because I can easily see Kelly gold with jeans. I will check out Arabesque's blog for black outfit with gold Hermes for some ideas.
I was tooling around the Internet earlier and I saw this:

I could do something like this with dark pants, dark top and gold Kelly. Nice casual look.
On the other end of the spectrum is a casual dress with a gold Kelly.

Maybe the point with the large gold Kelly is that it works best with looks that are really effortless.

I'm just supposing you've looked at the H Garden Party and Double Sens already?

I've always liked simple totes but no one would have ever predicted I would love my GP the way I do. The flat bottom keeps everything organised with/without an organiser. I know some people can put the handles over their shoulders too, I do for a second if I need to be hands free temporarily but I have no idea how they keep it on their shoulder (without holding it there which rather defeats the purpose). I guess it could be heavy for your purposes in the all-leather but there are some lovely canvas/leather versions around too.

I do have a GP 36 but I really do prefer shoulder carry. Like you, it slips off my shoulder. It don't find it heavy at all, but I do find it awkward/bulbous when I try to carry it on my shoulder. I have thought about the Double Sens but I have to admit that the price seems steep for a shape that is not really iconic Hermes and I really like bottom feet also, like you.

@Sparkletastic I'm also sorry about that anti-social buyer. You have my total sympathy.

My last 2 experiences as a seller seem to have put me off (unconsciously) I find it really difficult to get my 'stuff' together and list more items. Firstly, Ebay refused to help the police by ending a listing of stolen property then someone bought an amazing silver fox hat for next to nothing but couldn't be asked to read the description and wanted a return/refund after 5 weeks (including over Christmas) because it didn't fit her huge head (and then went on to explain "when I wore the hat..blah blah") classic de-shop. Ebay (automated) sided with her (happily she couldn't be bothered to send the hat back so paypal sided with me (phone)). Who needs it?

That is awful ☹️

 fantastic, definitely thinking along the right lines. Love the flippy red dress with it especially.

Just don't forget leaving the straps undone in this rather 'trying too hard' way, all the weight is on the turnlock which will soon need replacing. Worse still, those that leave the Kelly totally open pulling the handle out of joint. I know some people must have to have the Hermes stamp showing at all times and it's their bag, but really it makes me wince (I'd hate to buy one of these fashionably carried ones after use for a while) Sorry for the rant, totally NOT aimed at you, it's just the pics remind me.

My modest collection of pinks and a purple.

From back to front.

Alex and Ani clutch in amethyst. Really lovely embossed leather. They only made bags for a year or two; obviously not very popular. [emoji6] I just love occasionally carrying a clutch tucked under my arm though!

Burberry pochette in pink, Nova check.

Longchamp Le Pliage in fuchsia.

My belated, March tally.

0 in and 0 out.
Great stats and another beautiful picture. I had seen the alex and ani leather goods last year in NYC and they were very nice.
