This bag is so luscious looking, like dark chocolate, in her shop right now. But no luxe leather lined bags in there right now, the one I was eyeing in nude leather sold, as well as the fur/nude combination bag. So I just keep watch on new bags as she adds them.

Lovely, thank you for sharing.

I need another bag right now like 'I need a hole in the head' (sounds finnier in German) but fantastic reference :hugs:

Agree about clothes. I put weight on my middle first and my waist bands act as an early warning system of imminent danger. Can't bear it. I'll do the 5:2 diet, it works so fast and effortlessly, it also gives me lots of energy and reminds me to appreciate my food (and not be such a piggy). I can't afford to replace my wardrobe which is basically one size ( 42 Italian/38 French/6 US/10 UK, not one size fits all LOL) and some pieces I invested far too much (effort as well as money) to 'grow out of'.

Heavy, more casual bags like my ol' Chloe Paddy and Large Bay, MJ Venetia etc make think I was mad to buy as I think about them. When I carry them I'm actually impressed by the leather, workmanship and details so I should do a dressed down day each week and wear them anyway.
I love it! "Early warning system of imminent danger". I'm going to borrow that phrase when I let my clothes help me stay healthy.

I hadn't heard of the 5:2 diet so I just took a peek. I do intermittent fasting too! There is so much science to support IF as super healthy for your body. The weight loss / maintenance is a great side benefit but I love that it also helps avoid disease and support healthy organ function. I've been doing daily IF for over a decade. It's sooo easy. I don't eat before 12pm and stop eating at 9pm. And, I agree - it definitely helps me enjoy my food. (My rule is I only eat foods I LOVE. No eating "ok" or "so-so" foods.)

IF has been a godsend for me maintaining vibrant health. I have a health condition that "causes weight gain". I never have to worry about it because of IM and my yummy plant based Paleo diet. Happy, happy, joy, joy. :happydance:

I like making caring for my body (and mind and spirit) a priority. And, I looooove helping my family and friends be at their physical (and mental and spiritual) best. It's so much fun for me to see people get happier and healthier. Life is too short to suboptimize on the important.

Regarding bags, yours idea of dressing down could work for the "never wear" days we plan to do. I always seem to naturally have a dressing down day when I work from home and only have errands to take me outside of the house. But, even then I find myself reaching for just about any of my bags. My metallics are the only ones I don't typically wear on those days.

I just realized - I don't have any heavy bags anymore. If anything, I could use a few bigger bags in my collection. I've been thinking I'll let my workhorses be a little bigger than my norm.

Anymore yellow / orange bags? We had many more this year than last.

Speaking of colors, what is the "it" color for bags this year. I know Greenery is the Pantone color of the year - which is great for next week. But I haven't seen any particular color represented more than others in handbags.

I think it depends on what brand you are looking for and what you want to spend. Lots of online vintage H, LV and Chanel, others not so consistent.

Not sure. Probably one of the big three because they have some longevity in terms of style.

You mean "vintage" or "pre-loved"? For both, I just check out my own local trusted source. Nothing special. I'm not big on vintage style unless it's antique furniture and decoration or jewelry. For that, I go through dealers.

Vintage. According to fashionphile 30 years old is vintage.
I guess I should move on from bags and look into items that hold more value.

I think it's great that you and your partner live your life and embrace all the joy and leave the shame out of the equation! Life is so short to do it otherwise.

I figured I'd stand up against the fat shaming. Just because I'm a two digit size doesn't mean I can be looked down upon. And what's worse? Me trying to fit into my old size, or feeling comfortable in my current size? Looks like there's scorn either way.

Didn't think I'd see comments on size here. But oh well, the downside of being the fattest one here. Someone always wants to use you to feel better about themselves.

Don't think that. ;) I'm a 2-digit size, too and I love my Baskin Robbin's mint chocolate chip ice cream. [emoji39][emoji39][emoji39][emoji39] I buy what I like and make me look good, too. ;) (although hubby is been pestering me to lose weight for quite some time already. [emoji28][emoji28][emoji28]. Your DBF is definitely a keeper. [emoji4])

Lol, it just seemed like since I bought my current size, it was made to seem like I let my self go since I didn't drop the weight quickly.

I didn't think that assumptions should be made about anyone regardless of size.

Our focus is to try and keep healthy. I do like my food, and there's a lot to enjoy here. He helps keep my portions in check, and I've been pushing to make better choices to be healthier.

But even if I lose a ton of weight, my hips will keep me in double digit sizes (and the forever scorn of being that size). Oh well.

Somewhere I have a yellow Sergio Rossi Python convertible clutch and my 'orange' nubuck Soho Disco (photo not of mine but BG stock photo) It's more tan than orange and another thing I've hidden from myself. I did find some 'shy' H scarves while digging for it though

I see Etoupe/taupe has filtered down to the high-street more recently and I've seen more greys generally. I also notice orangey-pink 'dynorod' flouros around too, but then these colours were made to be noticed LOL

Back to handbags, I like the idea of a vintage bag, but what would I use it for? Does anyone carry really old bags on a daily basis? Are they as carefree as I think they should be?

Two more weeks till my ban ends.
I'll probably get a charm lol.

I didn't see any 'fat-shaming'. Sorry if I upset anyone, I was saying how it is for me and I am hardly a size 00. Having spent a lot of time and money on my wardrobe I'm not going to leave it to waste or give it way end of story. I can't afford to replace the classic McQueen and Gucci I have with larger sizes so I will make sure I fit what I have, end of discussion from me. People go on diets for many reasons, I don't think people should shame those that feel happy with the way they are, When I was a child I would have been kicked out my (ballet) school for putting on weight I don't think that's right either. People can speak for and about themselves without it being a comment aimed at anyone else.

Not sure but I'd love a green bag :-) and green is one of my favourite colours for walls!
