I have a bad case of the "wants" today. I've been puttering around my usual online shopping haunts with nothing resembling good intentions. :-s This is pretty stupid. I adore my collection and have a plan to carefully add bags to fill my few remaining gaps.

What makes it even kookier for me to have bag cravings is that this year isn't about handbags for me. My 2017 wardrobe focuses are 1) adding to and upgrading my clothing 2) adding three more pieces of fine jewelry to my collection. This is not the year of handbags.:doh:

So I'm fighting the craving. I dragged myself off the shopping sites and touched / looked at my bags to remind myself how happy I am with what I have. Then I rooted around in my closet and storage area for more things to list and sell. :sad: I'm hoping this will cool my jets a bit.

Have any of you ever awakened with an out of the blue "I wanna buy something pretty for me" mood? Please help me stay on hard pause. :panic:I welcome all thoughts and suggestions!

Have you ever tried fashion sketching or designing your own bag on paper. Just for fun not for anyone else's eyes.

Spark,

I struggle with this once about once per week. I always have wardrobe and shoe fillers so I easily turn to these. This is less expensive than a bag , sometimes it does cost about the same though. Write down your other needs so when the urge comes you can shift energy there.

Your whole outfit is killer!

Bought a tassel without the bag with me. I would say epic fail. I thought the bag was bigger. Good thing I listened to bake and didn't spend to much.

Thanks ! I decided to leave it on the bag. When bag is on the shoulder it actually looked cute and not so big.

I actually like the look with the tassel even in your first picture, so I'm glad you do, too.

Here she is, my ban breaker! 2012 in Lagoon, in mint condition with all cards and tags :smile:
Wow! I can see why you'd break your ban for this beauty.

I've been having this issue, too, though I didn't buy anything. Funny--this is also my year for adding fine jewelry.

I keep a Pinterest board set to secret where I store the things I think I want. When I'm tempted by something, I just save it there. It actually really helps, because if I pin five things, it usually becomes pretty clear when I come back to that board that I don't reeeaallly want at least four of those.

Thanks for the support. The "wants" have subsided...for now.

That's a fun idea. But I have zero art skills. Anything I drew would look like a box with tentacles for a handle. :lol:

I like those ideas. I can do the same thing I did when I was doing a lot of bag hunting. When I (finally) followed my list, it really helped me properly curate my collection.

I have the list of jewelry I want to add. But I do need to make a specific list of clothes. I just hate actually going shopping and trying clothes on. I like clicking and shopping.:biggrin: But I plan to hit the mall on Wednesday so I'll hold off my "wants" til then.

But even if I come back with a bag full of cute clothes, I'll be super happy to wear them but they won't scratch that "I want" itch. I only get excited from jewelry, bags, furs and shoes. Sweaters and slacks should just appear magically in my closet. :sad:

He is stunning!!!!
Wow! Just crazy about this bag! He is indeed a "bad boy" (but I mean that as a compliment, LOL!).
Is this a small bag, for evenings only, or is it also for daytime use?
Wow! I have a weak spot for gold leather bags done well. This one is superb.
He's a sexy bad boy.
YES! I've been right there with you but you know what, it was worth the wait to get the perfect one. Gold prize to you, it's the gold bag of gold bags :ps: :ps: :ps:
It's worth every wait Sparkle!! What a lovely Boy!

Not totally related but this made me remember my sister's warning about packing a "balikbayan" box for me. She said she gets stressed making stuff fit and she has to be careful to make sure nothing breaks or gets deformed. So she said she doesn't want to do it anymore, lol.
Grab the opportunity to clean out your closet. :idea:
What a stunner! Congrats.
THANKS for celebrating my new gold Chanel with me. :smile: I worked from home today and have to admit I kept going back in to look and pet him all day. :lol:

Here's the pic with the purse and my passport, card case and Epi pen. My phone can't fit
Missie, the bag is adorable. But I really think it needs to go back. My rule is a bag has to be able to fit what I consider my baseline essentials. This bag isn't holding your essentials. And t the end of the day isn't that is what a bag is supposed to do? I think something this small would be very frustrating over time.
Ladies,I am wondering if we can start back our weekly themes along with these challenges. I miss seeing everyone collections and our various bags.
Plus one to this! :tup:

It may help if you had actual clothes/jewels on your wish-list, perhaps you do. If you have the actual items in mind, know how much they cost and keep focused on those...

Maybe you've been searching so long for your gold bag, you've got in a habit of searching the same online stores and resources. Tell yourself you HAVE that bag, say it out loud. You have the best so what could you possibly be handbag-surfing for? Switch to the clothes and jewellery sites instead and give your existing bags a non-needed but admiring flick with a clean duster.

I took my Chloe Bay shopping as planned today (Photo tomorrow I hope when PhotoBucket may be working again).

Thoughts I had:
1. Not as heavy as I remember;
2. Wow, I used to carry big bags;
3. Though a Winter bag I remember why I used to carry it in Summer. It's too wide with things in it to carry on over a thick coat and keep on my shoulder;
4. Ridiculous to carry to the supermarket, I had to carry another 2 shopping bags and the Bay home again (I walk coz it's only round the corner). However, I knew I was doing it as an exercise.
5. Lovely colour, very dark brown bhw, fine with black but it'd be better with casual.
