@Sparkletastic @HopelessBagGirl @dcooney4 I really find reading everyone’s handbag goals and analyses very interesting and helpful. Thank you for the details.
@dcooney4 I think that you have done well! Getting rid of 18 bags, and more to go is amazing to me, even if you did bring in 18. It is very hard to check all the details if your DH is waiting for you.
I live quite a distance from a lot of the boutiques too. My DH shops, but his idea of shopping is: need it, find it, buy it. With clothing and shoes this is his approach. Now interestingly enough, it took him forever to pick out a pair of glasses frames. I was ready to jump out of my skin; I guess this is how he feels when I look at bags. So I either drive the distance by myself or sit him down somewhere with an espresso and a cookie, while I go browse. [emoji6]
My 2017 goals were very simple. Buy 1 to 2 bags that were carefully thought out. I thought one of them might be an H bag, but the right one never found me.
I bought 2 bags that I love; success! I have a 3rd one on it’s way to me. So I guess that this might be considered a fail. I will reveal it, and I suppose try to justify it, when it arrives.
I bought 2 slg’s and planned to only buy 1, but I let go of 6, so I consider this a success.
I did a lot more selling and gifting than I expected. I got over keeping things for sentimental reasons, and realized that I could hold onto the memories, without keeping the bag. I sold my Burberry and
Prada pochettes. I sold one vintage
Coach bag; I had 2 of the same style in different colors. I kept the color that I think is more rare. I sold a Loeffler Randall bag, that I liked, but was unlined and shed little leather particles. I gifted a
Fendi clutch to a friend. I gave my DH a card case to use. I sold or donated 2 other wristlets. I have an MJ wallet for sale; that I plan to donate if it doesn’t sell.
So 3 bags, and 6 slg’s out!
I have not yet finalized my 2018 goals.
