And!!!! I got a red lamb Chanel as a possible replacement for my red caviar! (Funny how I'm jumping up and down about a bag and I'm like a dead eyed cod fish about a car.)

My current bag is a single flap but I haven't been able to find that particular red color in lamb. So, I researched other red shades and found a double flap that is the same color.

So now I have a dilemma: what's more important: lambskin or keeping the roominess of my single flap?

HELP!!! What do you think???
(Here are pictures. Unfortunately my iPhone isn't picking up the true perfection of the red from these bags. It's a deep true red with just a hint of a blue undertone. Gosh these bags are sooooo gorgeous! I wish I could make myself keep both. Lol!)

Wow, this is like the duel of the red flaps!

Not sure how to advise you on this one, Sparkle, because both bags are drop dead gorgeous. All I can say is that you know you don’t like caviar. So I thought, based on that, that the caviar flap was only staying until you found a suitable replacement. So the question is, is this lamb double-flap the right replacement?

I’ve never had a jumbo, only reissues, so I don’t know how different the capacity is between a single flap and a double. I know capacity is one of the things you don’t want to compromise on, so I think you need to put all the stuff you’d carry in the single flap bag into the double flap and see if it works. If this lamb jumbo is the right material, size, and most important, shade of red, then capacity is the only question left, right?

Oh, and your dead-eyed fish comment cracked me up. I’m the same way with bags vs. cars. The heart wants what the heart wants!

A necklace??
i thought of it, but i like mine both, and i don't rotate them often enough to justify another one...

Do tell! Or rather, show!
slippers, BV signature intrecciato, boring black, classy look for casual outfit or for easy pairing with bags/outfits that are 'loud' on their own.
I had 30% private sale offer and there was my size available, so i got a pair
not yet taken any pics to share, but will do when i have time

To my unprofessional eye lamb looks more appealing, it's soft, and red is more popping

Great advice. I put everything I usually carry plus som extra in the double flap and it all fits. Hmmm...

OMG! It's so stunning in person.

IDK. I'm still thinking. :panic:

But this has definitely sealed the deal on the black patent.

I have no experience with Chanel flaps at all. I’ve had one Chanel and it wasn’t a flap so obviously I shouldn’t even be writing this. BUT ... I’m a veteran now of a bajillion Youtube videos showing many Chanel flaps. Those ladies LOVE the double flap because it holds its structure over time and they convinced me that it really does, a few by showing comparisons with the single. If that matters in your decision, there you go. Visually, that double red is so gorgeous.

110% lambskin. I feel that if you pass it up you'll always look at the caviar with regret:sad: even though it's also stunning.

So today was a busy day!!! I had to work a LOT today but, I also had some shopping moments.

First, I have to stop being in denial that I need a car. So, I went to the Lexus dealer to look at the RX350. I took my trusty Max Mara with me today so she went along for the trip. This is so an on-the-body bag. It just looks like a box sitting here. But I get a TON of compliments when I carry her. Makes me think of getting a different color but I do want different styles for work and I never carry this for play. View attachment 3907214
The Lexus reminds me of the Max Mara. Elegant, serviceable, high quality but doesn't get my goofy happy points going. I still like the Cadillac SRX. Argh! But, I think I'm going to get the Lexus because 1) it's a better car 2) the 2015 I was looking at is deeeply discounted and 3) I don't care about cars Lol! So I should get the one that is most practical. I need a car that can last another 10+ years because I just don't ever want to buy a car.

[emoji106] goodluck with your decision! I’m like you when it comes to car shopping, sooo not my thing, lol. As long as its low maintenance, not a fuel guzzler, looks presentable i’m good to go [emoji23].

They are both gorgeous [emoji7][emoji7][emoji7][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

I can only advise you from my own perspective.

The red lambskin is more lush because it has a lovely shine to it that makes the red pop more.

The caviar red is more low-key elegant and has a more classic look; whilst the red lambskin is more in your face with that phoww factor.

On single versus double flap issue; my jumbo and reissue are both double flaps (caviar and aged calfskin) while my seasonal city rock (goatskin) is a single flap . Both styles work for me and i can’t honestly say i prefer one over the other.

I love that I don’t really have to baby my caviar bags so that’s a plus.
If this was me choosing i would go for the red lambskin solely on the basis of diversity; i have caviar already so i would get lambskin; but I prefer the understated red of the caviar.

I think you love the roominess of the single flap and i’ve heard its lighter than double flaps. Some people complain of jumbo double flaps being heavy but I don’t have that issue.

Both reds are seriously gorgeous and you really can’t go wrong with either.

Stick with what works for you if you’re having a hard time deciding; your single flap.
