So far it is still on and we got a small write up so they are hesitant to cancel.Omg snow.

Yep! This happens to me. Especially when I'm purchasing full price. So, I am off to BV today to see the Chain Tote again ... I went back a few days ago to try my stuff in it and everything fits perfectly. They are getting in a gray color so I can compare to the black. Of course, now that the process has gone this far, I find myself balking a bit. Anyone else do this? Find a great bag and then question if it’s worth the money and if you’ll still love it in a month or a year? How do you know for sure?
Exactly!!! There are only so many days. If I have "too many", some are going to go unworn / rarely worn.I consider this idea often. There are only so many days in a year to use what we’ve already invested in, whether that investment is monetary, emotional, aesthetic or something else, so whatever we add has to interfere with what we’ve already chosen. Did anyone learn the concept of opportunity costs in economics? I’d hate to have to explain it, but this seems similar. If the goal is to be a true collector, such as to acquire all or most LV’s in canvas patterns, then additions can build that collection, and adding the same type of bag supports the goal. But if the goal is different ... if it is to USE the bags, then any addition will have a negative impact ... bringing in a new bag will have a definite cost to the remainder of the “collection.”
Personally, I experience a fair amount of stress at not using my bags. While buying a bag gives me a quick happy jolt, it will also increase my stress as the jolt goes away. So I too have to be very careful what comes in from here on. I’m not at all sure how to proceed in 2018. Pondering...

Hope you have a great time!
The smallest bag in my collection is the Jaspal.

That’s the comparison with 227 reissue. I skimp on getting the LV version and I’m happy I did. No offense coz the LV is gorgeous and I still love to look at them, but the capacity is too small. I will never use it enough to feel justified. This fits the bill for me. [emoji4]
The biggest one is the teal Regalo Tokyo weekender which I got during my honeymoon. The leather is so yummy, but it’s getting heavy. I keep it though because I love it, but I rarely use it now. Even thought of retiring it from the rotation because of the weight, but the leather and sentimental feeling always get me. I don’t have a clear picture of it saved in my mobile.

That’s sooo cute!!
Is the LV version the Petite Malle? I’m tempted for it but even the “bigger” version is still kinda small lol.
I’m tempted for an Aspinal of London version.
What’s your hesitation beyond it being worth the money?
Do you feel like you’re settling?
Well, I did buy the bag today so clearly whatever issues I had, they weren’t big enough to stop me!![]()
Seriously, though, I usually balk before any big purchase. Or big decision, even if it doesn’t involve money. I just doubt myself and my ability to make the “right” decision. It happens all the time, to be honest.
Also, I think there is something about this particular bag that made me doubt myself. It is literally too perfect. It ticks all the boxes of what I am looking for, and it’s a legitimate gap in my collection (I don’t, or didn’t, have a high-end tote bag that fits what I need and fits comfortably over my shoulder). I’ve looked for a bag that fit those specs for so long I literally couldn’t believe it when I found it. And for the premier price, I wanted to be sure I wasn’t fooling myself.
Yep, i think when its time to decisively pull the trigger the doubts kick in; are you wasting too much on just a bag versus something ‘more important’? I console myself with the fact that it can be sold or exchanged (if the window is still open) if it doesn’t work out.
Keep us updated on the chain tote though. Its a potential bag on my hunt for a black tote [emoji4]

Yep! This happens to me. Especially when I'm purchasing full price.
How I know for sure is if it 1)functions exactly as I need 2) is visually a bag a love 3) is a brand I like to carry and 4) gives me unique uses and doesn't cannabalize.
If it's an almost factors 1-3, I'll more than likely have regrets later. If it doesn't do #4 I will either carry it or the bag I already own. Rarely does it just slide comfortably into my collection.

And, you make the perfect point. If someone is truly collecting, this isn't a big deal. But for others like you and me who don't like the idea / feeling of bags sitting unused, we have to carefully weigh the impact of a new bag.
