Great news from Yoogi's on my Fendi bag. When I initially sent them the description and photos, they offered me a buyout price, but it was a range. Even with the range, it was still higher by 30% than Fashionphile, so I decided to take it and I boxed up the bag and shipped it to them.
Yesterday they sent me an email that the bag had arrived, and they had decided to give me the top of their buyout range. Woohoo! :yahoo: They say the $$$ will be coming to me in a day or two. And since I don't have any bag purchases on the horizon, this is pure profit.
Two bags sold this year, and a whole bunch of pouches donated. Also working on a major clothing purge this weekend, with everything going up to my favorite thrift shop on Monday.
Yay!

Aside from the BV I’m considering, I haven’t found anything that’s the right combo of size, drop, organization, materials and looks. Oh, and luxury but understated. I measured the drop on an old Longchamp leather bag that works for me but has seen better days, and it clocked in at 8 inches.

Just curious, if strap drop is one of your 3 non-negotiables, what are the other 2?
Strap drop is important. In summer you don’t want it in your pit and in winter it needs to fit with a thick coat. For me weight is important and a place for my phone.

Kisses to @tenKrat who is the loveliest kama’aina + TPF friend in the world and finally succumbed to all my Jedi mind tricks to get her to send this purse back overseas so I could wear it with my dark brown boots with dark gunmetal hardware on the corset details there on the sides, and be all matchy matchy ridiculous. I’m in seventh heaven now. Thank you!!!!!
Showing my style with my new-to-me MM aura in dark chocolate merinos and dark gunmetal hardware, my first in this style and I really love how it is small but holds my ipad + essentials. My favorite DVF green python print wrap shirt and diesel skinzee jeans with my fave tod’s boots and beloved thrift store find Erich Fend terra cotta wool coat. My mom made the gorgeous emerald colorway wool scarf keeping me so cozy up around my neck and décolleté.
Great outfit and that bag looks amazing!

I hope you find what you need. To me, totes are so much harder to buy than handbags because function is the primary purpose but is so individual.

My three non negotiables are:

• 8.5 - 9.5" strap drop
• Center zip compartment
• Just wide enough to comfortably fit my 13" laptop (but not much wider)

I could also add E/W orientation. I don't like the look of N/S but there are so few N/S totes that this is never an issue for me.

gorgeous color! I love browns. And a great outfit!

great collection!
Thank you eggtartapproved!

I totally agree with you on the strap drop. 8 1/2 - 9 1/2 inches is perfect. I do not want an “armpit bag!”

I don’t need a center zip compartment, but I do need some built in pockets, especially one for my phone.

Funny thing is, I don’t need the tote to accommodate a laptop (although fitting an iPad would be nice). I just need a little more room than most of my handbags, the ability to fit a water bottle, and a nice comfortable shoulder strap and strap drop.

I’m still thinking about the BV Chain Tote because I think it ticks all the boxes. I do need to try it with my stuff in it to be sure, though.

Thanks! 6 inch is definitely too short for me with a winter coat too. I'll need to continue my search. You saved me from the returning hassle.

If you would like to have some introspect questions whether to sell the bag or not, you'll get plenty of help here

Glad my comments helped. I will revisit whether to sell the other GPs once I have a suitable alternative. I know everyone here says to sell a bag in order to buy one, but I usually do the reverse: buy a bag that eventually makes another bag in my closet obsolete. When I realize the obsolete bag isn’t going to be used anymore, then I sell it.

So glad Yoogis gave you a good price. It’s always interesting to me how different the offers can be from the different consignors.

I was seriously interested in that tote til I saw the dimensions and found out it wouldn't fit my laptop. It's beautiful.

I agree with you. I only sell bags where they're not being used. I almost always hold on to a usable (but not optimal or preferred) bag until I find its replacement. Mainly because I can get distracted with "real life" and not get around to hunting for the replacement bag for a while.

That's why I haven't put my red caviar or black patent Chanels up for sale. I love the bags, I'd just prefer them in lamb. I don't want to risk wanting to wear a red or black flap (which I do fairly often) and having the gap in my collection.

Okay so stylebook is an app you use to create outfits by photographing each individual item. You can use stock photos as well which is easier. But I just put on the outfit and photo myself in it and don’t plan to mix up which items coordinate with which that often. Well it’s not entirely true. The skinny jeans and stretchy pants of different variety are twenty of the same basic comfy pant in very dark blue and black so they get pretty easily swapped around.
Here’s how I deal with exceptions. If my day or my bloat does not agree with the outfit that I see is next in the queue, I just look at the next five or so on the hanger and choose one of those. Easy peasy. I don’t care if my order gets reshuffled, the order is not important.
Oh wow!!! So I JUST put a closet app on my phone- the CPW is so eye-opening!!! Can't wait till the info catches up- I've just put on there, the bags I've posted here so far. Will keep you posted!

Yay I can upload again!

Bag for the holiday weekend. I wanted to change to my Herbag again but this will do much better for my adventures. Today was museums and a bit of shopping (I bought shoes to replace a pair I’m retiring).

Updated bear group!

Love all your charms bakeacookie. The good news is that charms don’t take up a lot of room. I think it’s great that you are trying to use them all. Have you ever done a group shot? Hint hint...
