I love the early evening period at home when I change into my pyjamas/home loungewear for the evening, and set out the next day’s outfit for my morning groggy self to mindlessly put on, and go ahead and change bags for the next day. I’m so useless in the mornings that just stumbling into my clothes, washing my face and applying a few dabs of makeup, and having some coffee is all I can handle. I have two heads of hair to braid into attractive hairdos each morning as well, and a lot of mittens and boots and snowsuits to get on with the Littles, so anything I can do in advance for the morning rush is such a good idea! I can’t believe I’m a daily bag changer nowadays. I said a year ago on this thread that I would want to carry the same bag for a month, and have 12 bags for the year.
Now I have 28 bags and change them daily. TPF is not the best influence!

It depends. I think it may have more to do with how I’m carrying a bag than the actual weight of the bag. Part of the problem with the GP is that I end up elbow-carrying it, which I think throws my posture out of whack. I have to watch the weight on cross-bodies too. But I can load up a Longchamp, which is shoulder-carry, with all my usual stuff, plus an umbrella, sweatshirt and water bottle, and while it’s definitely heavy, it doesn’t hurt.

I have a lot of muscle imbalances resulting from an old hip injury. Add to that the fact that I’m having an MRI of my left knee today and I’m just falling apart!

You’re not falling apart! We just carry more than we should haha.

You raise a good point. Elbow carry and crossbody can end up hurting me but totes like my NF and LC can be loaded up a lot more before it starts to hurt.

I normally try to avoid if the leather is stiff (like my saint laurent monogram shopper).

I want to check this BV out as it looks softer so one will be able to arrange things better in the bag.

It was a hassle using my monogram shopper; i had to really think of what i wanted to put into it and arrange things well. Plus the central zipper divider was a hassle for me. I use a long wallet and preferred putting it in there but the area then tended to bulk out into the compartments of the bag; so u had to really shuffle items around and downsize to fit things comfortably in the bag.

This BV although it has the same zip divider, looks like it will be more accommodating since its bigger and the leather is softer
Ah! I understand. I've never tried the YSL Monogram shopper. Just admired it online and on others. The stiffness would be an issue. I've had two totes with the center divider - the Dior Soft and my Chanel. Both are very accommodating and are perfect to carry. But, for some reason I don't like the Dior on me - it seems to overwhelm my frame?? I thought it was the shininess of the patent I had before but I still feel a bit of the same with my lamb one. And, I don't like the strap drop on the one I bought. So I'm still looking for my perfect black tote.
Mine is in Anthracite from 2012 I think. My first Bal was a City in Rose Thulian, bought preloved in 2013 from a local seller known to a friend. Then I added one in Latte, also City. Then I wanted to try the Velo as I got to look at it in the boutique, so I got this and that's when I realized I preferred the shape of the Velo. Generally I prefer E/W but somehow the more N/S Velo worked for me. With the City, I felt I had to scatter/arrange my stuff along the length (width?) of the bag. The 2 Citys have been rehomed.

Plus, the Velo has a longer strap (at least then) that lends itself to crossbody carry. And you can also double the strap for shoulder carry. The different strap configuration makes me love the bag for travel - versatility! And you have a pretty leather bag. Plus, it is lighter than some other leather bags!

And when the travel includes some business conference or meeting, though a less formal bag, I am still confident to wear it. Again, versatility!
Thanks for sharing this mini review. I have hesitated on the city because of the strap length. Similar to my hesitation on the Givenchy Antigona. I think the brands have lengthened the strap on later models of both. But, honestly, I haven't been vested enough in buying either to figure this out.
Thanks! I’ve had knee pain for over a month, so it’s time for a diagnosis.
Wishing you good luck!!

My frustration and anger towards Tradesy grows. I sold two items on 11/4. Both were delivered to buyers on 11/8.

I just remembered the sales and went into the app to withdraw funds. Well, the funds are available for the less expensive item - a handbag. The funds for the diamond pendant, however, are being held til 12/4. :annoyed:

That is almost a month after the buyer received the item. What the heck?!?! You may recall I sold an item a few weeks before this and it took Tradesy 10 days to get the money into my account after I requested it.

This is ridiculous. No other site functions this way. Funds on eBay sales are available immediately. There is no reason for Tradesy to hold funds for what may very well be 40 days after a sale except that they want to make profit on the float of money that should be in the sellers' hands.

This is more motivation to list EVERYTHING I could possible want to sell now and get this over with. And, I'm going to be really hard on evaluating any new purchases (which I really always should have been.) I don't want to sell anything ever again. :cursing:

I have crashed and burned on putting everything into Stylebook. The holiday season with guests visiting, work travel, etc. has made it tough to find the time to photograph and enter items.

I'm going to make a point of getting stock photos when I buy things. That will make this much easier. So l'll keep plugging at this when I can and make it a goal to be consistent in 2018.

Good luck with your knee.

Best of luck with the MRI. I hope that 1) they find something; and 2) it something that can be fixed easily, with minimal downtime.
ikwym about muscle imbalances. I've just started doing Feldenkrais, and I'm readjusting everything! :amazed:

I'm so glad that whatever I'm looking at for the sales right now is selling out quickly.

I'm not tempted by bags, but by charms and clothing.

Is anyone shopping the sales right now?
The only thing I'm doing is stocking up on stuff this Friday on the Nordie's site because I'm making it a 10-point day. But not clothing or shoes, just things like face cream and candles. And (drat!) nothing is on sale, but it's all things I use and re-use, so this is a good time to buy.

Everything is already on my wish list, so all I have to do is put it all in my cart on Friday and designate it as a 10-point day. Hopefully the site won't crash, the way it did last summer on the first day of the Anniversary sale!

I stocked up on my beauty stuff from the Sephora sale.
I'm trying to resist more clothes because I really gotta wear everything I have.

But now I've found out that Coach in London has exclusive items and now I'm dying to have those.
How did I end up on Coach UK, I'll never know. But my wishlist for things I can't easily obtain have gotten longer.

I’m avoiding them right, lol. So don’t want to be tempted to do any unplanned shopping. I want to be responsible and stick to my wish list items as per bags. I Don’t really need to clothes or shoe shopping anytime soon so i’m safe all round!

I deleted my apps to Nordies, Sephora, and the like to keep from shopping. No matter how much I unsubscribe, somehow they manage to send me an email.

I'm going to go focus on my luggage tag hunt, which doesn't go on sale and doesn't take up too much space to collect. lol.

I had some extra time today and was in the neighborhood, so I stopped by the BV boutique and tried it on. Not sure it was magic, but oh my, I really, really, really like this bag! The leather feels amazing, the bag is the right combo of structured and squishy, and the shoulder drop is perfect. The size is perfect too — spacious but not too huge. I almost never buy on the first try, so I will go back at some point and try it on again. I’m looking forward to it, because the SAs in that store were fantastic — fun and friendly and helpful, and not at all pushy or snooty.

I know the open top hobos don’t work for me. I have tried them on, but the problem isn’t looks, it’s function. I simply need more structure. I can’t stand it when my stuff jumbles together and I can’t find things easily. The bag I really loved is a new style — the Piazza — basically BV’s modern take on the Kelly style. I am an absolute sucker for the Kelly style, but don’t need this At. All. Plus the clasp wasn’t easy to open, so I’m going to put that one out of my head for now. (The craftsmanship was amazing, however!)

Anyway, here is a mod shot of the chain tote. Please excuse the baggy sweater and worn-in jeans!
