Way to go, Elaine! Doesn't it feel good when you can put a check mark in front of a project that has been weighing on you? Would you recommend Yoogi's? I have zero experience with them having only used eBay. I'm not a huge fan of eBay, but have sold a fair amount of items and managed to keep a 100% satisfaction rating so there is that. I am so proud of everyone who is selling on here. I didn't manage to list any more items. Maybe tonight.
I've listed two things with Yoogi's... one was a consignment a couple of years ago, and the other was this sale. I think they're easy to work with... I like that they gave me the option of the payout as a check or a direct deposit into my PayPal account. The item I consigned, my YSL Sac du Jour, sold very quickly at a really good price, and they took excellent photos of it. Since that bag was a bozo mistake on my part (waaaaaaaay too heavy! what was I thinking?) it was a great relief to get it over and done with so painlessly.

Of course, you definitely make more $$$ with direct eBay sales, but I eventually couldn't take the stress of dealing with buyers. It's not a right or a wrong... I had 100% satisfaction on eBay too with my small number of sales... but it took a lot of energy and I finally decided I'd rather consign on-line for the big ticket items and donate to my local charities for the less expensive items like clothing, shoes, and inexpensive bags.

I never did the "top five bags" challenge, but this is definitely someplace on the list. I'm carrying my Marc Jacobs Mini 54 all this week, in honor of Thanksgiving, and I just love seeing the pop of Flame Red on the passenger seat as I drive around town running errands!

I believe there was also a conversation about owning multiples of a bag? This is a bag style that I fell in love with, so I bought a second one (sight unseen) in emerald green. And it turned out to be a BIG mistake. The green was much too bright. You'd think the jewel tones of "emerald" would be perfect against all the black I wear, but something about it just never quite resonated for me. Eventually I ended up re-homing it, which I felt bad about because really it was my fault in the first place for not simply sticking to the one bag. I felt as though I had been a bit greedy... like taking a second piece of pumpkin pie for dessert!

^Here's the latest addition. Maybe hubby and I do need to go back to exploring a closet addition, lol! I had been looking for a special crossbody bag that I could wear either day or night that was red with silver hardware. This is the Longchamp Effrontée red lacquer crossbody bag. At first I thought I wanted a plain red bag but the more I considered it I realized most of my bags are plain and I loved the detail in the leather trim. The matching leather card case was too cute to pass up. I can't wait to take it out for a spin!

This is so cute [emoji7]

Love this bag particularly in the mini size!! I have the regular size but I rarely reach for it. It would likely be different if I had the mini. I love love how red it is! I'm glad you've kept it!

Thanks for the information, Elaine. I may end up doing that myself. I thought I'd see what I can move on my own before the holidays and then maybe I will donate and/or consign the rest after that. Right now the bags I am selling are not designer bags. They're what I'd call bridge lines: Coach, Brahmin, Dooney, etc. I've got one Burberry bag listed and we'll see if eBay can do the trick for that one.

Here's the followup on my Fendi Petite 2Jours Elite going out for offers to the consignment sites.

I wanted to sell it outright rather than consign it, even though I realized that would net me less $$$, but I didn't want the bag to sit on line forever. Sooooooo... Fashionphile offered me 30% less than Yoogi's did. And Beg Borrow Steal wouldn't do a buyout at all, they would only consign it. PLUS they couldn't even give me a range of what they'd list it for. Um, no thank you. :whut:

Obviously, I'm going with the Yoogi's offer. And it's an amount I'm satisfied with, considering it's a 3-year old bag in a discontinued color. I've already printed the UPS label. Now I just have to box it up, and my lovely DH has said he will run it up to the UPS store tomorrow for me.

Whew! One nagging "to-do" over and done with! :happydance:

Woohoo!
I’m wondering how they determine offers. They’re all over the place, all of those companies.

My experience with Yoogi’s was similar to Elaine’s. A year ago, I listed four bags with them because I wanted a no fuss sale. They sent me quotes for the four bags that I thought were right in the ballpark. The bags weren't current or trendy but apparently saleable … 2 BVs, a Burberry and a Chanel from the ‘90s with deflated quilting. I took the offer and received a check pretty quickly. Everything was easy and on time. They did a good job marketing, not that I cared at that point, and all the bags sold within two weeks. I would recommend Yoogi’s but you won’t get quite as much as you would selling independently or consigning, which you can also do through Yoogi’s.

Yes, do try it on. Wearing it makes a world of difference sometimes.

My SA told me that most people don’t give the open top hobos (like the cervo Loop or baseball Cervo hobos that @ksuromax has) a second glance because they don’t look exciting just hanging up on a hook. I gave them a cursory look until my SA insisted I try one on.

Oh my, the magic that happened when I did. The bag transformed from a nondescript-looking bag to a luscious leather bag hanging softly in beautiful folds next to my side. So, yeah, just try it on and see what happens. Maybe there will be some magic.

I had some extra time today and was in the neighborhood, so I stopped by the BV boutique and tried it on. Not sure it was magic, but oh my, I really, really, really like this bag! The leather feels amazing, the bag is the right combo of structured and squishy, and the shoulder drop is perfect. The size is perfect too — spacious but not too huge. I almost never buy on the first try, so I will go back at some point and try it on again. I’m looking forward to it, because the SAs in that store were fantastic — fun and friendly and helpful, and not at all pushy or snooty.

I know the open top hobos don’t work for me. I have tried them on, but the problem isn’t looks, it’s function. I simply need more structure. I can’t stand it when my stuff jumbles together and I can’t find things easily. The bag I really loved is a new style — the Piazza — basically BV’s modern take on the Kelly style. I am an absolute sucker for the Kelly style, but don’t need this At. All. Plus the clasp wasn’t easy to open, so I’m going to put that one out of my head for now. (The craftsmanship was amazing, however!)

Anyway, here is a mod shot of the chain tote. Please excuse the baggy sweater and worn-in jeans!

This is so cute and unique! I love that matching card holder too. I really like the direction Longchamp is going in right now. Please post a mod shot if you have a chance, I would love to see this worn!

I’ve had good experiences with both Yoogis and Fashionphile. One thing I recently found out about Yoogis is that you can change from consignment to direct buy if you change your mind. I sent them a bag on consignment (they offered both options initially), and it didn’t sell as quickly as I’d hoped, so I emailed them asking if I could change to direct purchase. They immediately responded saying yes, and just asked me to go into their new offer and hit “accept.” A week later, I had my check. Very easy company to work with.
