Part of me is kicking myself for not ordering when they first came out and part of me is angry that Coach only had these available for one week. I understand that they want to create buzz but they might be creating more customer frustration than anything. I think they could have really gotten ahead of the curve on this trend this fall if they had made this part of the current floor set, especially before the holidays.

Well, oddly enough, there was a voicemail on my phone this morning from "Coach Soho" saying the bag I wanted was not in stock. I'm not sure how Soho got involved but looking at Coach's history handling these things, it appears that I will not be getting my bag.
I'm not married to the Coach brand so I'll just get a saddlebag somewhere else, they seemed to be in all the store windows. It was the monogramming that interested me, and I can get that done elsewhere.

Sorry this happened to you, but it doesn't surprise me. I'm the one that also tried to get another one. The computer wouldn't even let my SA put the order through. It amazes me that they'd have at least 20 of each color in distribution (or SOHO or Rodeo Dr - the only 2 boutiques (supposedly) that got them)... and people are willing to buy them at full price (since they were excluded from PCE) - yet rather than sell them at FP - $395/550 - they let them sit. They'll probably end up at the outlet sale in massive quantities.
Crazy! I don't know why she told me specifically that there were twenty left. I don't have time to go in today and ask what happened. It seems unlikely that 20 were sold between the time I asked and my order got faxed over. So they are just not selling them. And she called JAX but my order form went to New York, which seems odd but then I don't really know the ins and outs of this brand.
They did take my credit card so I have to make sure I was not charged. This is the only bag I wanted so am not interested in store credit. (The swagger is a pretty bag, but too heavy for me. )
From what I read, getting something from Coach is like trying to get a new game from Nintendo. :

New update. My local store just now called to tell me I couldn't get it. She said they had 7 but were promised to others! Lol. Ok, so I asked her if they had any other colors. She's going to call me back if I can get another color. I've a feeling the answer is going to be no but it's worth a try.

Well, the saga isn't over! I got another call from my local Coach, saying that they had saved the bags for regular customers but nobody had confirmed their colors or anything, so they would release one to me! I was delighted and very happy with the considerate customer service. I have a few Coach products, and bought the Borough bag at that store, but I'm by no means a well-known customer. They said that since they know how much I wanted it, they decided to let me have it.
Then, about 30 minutes later, I got a call from Coach Soho, confirming my order and asking about the monogramming. I told them I wanted the monogram in the contrasting color, both on the flap and hang tag. She was not sure it could be done in color but if not, I will still have it empressed.
So it looks like I actually will get this saddlebag and am very excited. I'd talked myself out of wanting this one and decided to go bag shopping for a fall bag this weekend, but now I don't have to. Thanks to the ladies at my local Coach store who were so considerate..
I'll post a photo when it comes, if anybody is interested. Or if there is another glitch, I'll post that as well!

I finally got the bag today! Loving it. The leather is soft, the color is much prettier than I thought and the inside holds everything I need. I was the first person they'd done a monogram for but did a great job. We were all super nervous.

There is one issue - if you are short, like me, you want to put it on the smallest setting. But in that case, the extra strap covers up the tags and any bag charms you put there.
So I am carrying it a bit longer than I'd like so the tags and charms show.
Small problem but something to think about if anybody is considering one.
The inside holds a lot more than I would have guessed, because it's soft.
No, I got the small.
I am 5'3" and 90 pounds. (Cancer, my friends, not on purpose.) But I was always tiny.
I bought a large Borough a year ago or so and it looks like I'm a 3 year old carrying mommy's bag so only small for me for now.
