Ooh, the Gigi NY is a good idea too.

I went to the mall for a walk, and spotted some cute totes.

Louise et Cie?

MK, I believe there's a version without a chain?

I like the MJ one the most. It has several sizes and width/length.

This cutie was on sale at Coach for $247, but egg talked me out of it. Lol. It's not completely love like the D&B bucket bag.

But here's more eye candy

I love this color from Coach and may buy something with this color when it goes on sale in the summer. Hopefully like a hangtag or something lol.

I also like the MJ tote! And the recent Coach bags are really beautiful. I'm an RM fan of the much older collection. For her recent lines, she copies a lot of other designers, sadly.

She does.

The older stuff is at the rack for fantastic prices though. There was a tote...leather but stiff for like $75.

Could that be a candidate? I'd have to find out what it is, but it's in abundance at the rack.

@dcooney4 what about RLL? The two totes I bought this year have been my go-to work bag, care free bag, weekend bag, you name it. They are quite sizeable but there are also smaller sizes - I found the size I got to be great because if I don't zip it, it's deep enough that I don't feel my stuff will fall out. It also does have a zip closure if you want to be super safe but if not zipped, hides well inside the bag so you don't see it. Coated canvas and very light. I had mine in colors and a chevron pattern but they also have their basic colors, as well as seasonal patterns and designs. Really inexpensive and the drop length is really nice and can easily fit over a winter jacket. If it's not full, the coated canvas sort of molds to the body a bit so it's not sticking out stiffly.

Ohhh! These were fantastic ! You still have the two colors right? And even though one did get damaged during your travels, it still is usable though right?

I've seen solid versions at TJ Maxx I think.

Yup I ended up keeping both and I LOVE both of them! The orange and navy was my go-to but I oddly ended up using the citron and black more out of the two. Ya, the orange and navy got damaged at the end of my travels but that was a freak accident and carelessness on my part - pushing my MIL's wheelchair while the bag wasn't on my shoulder but hanging from the crook of my arm and tired from the trip, wasn't thinking and let the wheels scrape against it, taking off some of the color. OTHER THAN THAT, it looks fine and the citron and black has no damage at all!

I'm looking for an inexpensive tote (or tote like) bag too. Sometimes I need to throw things in a bag and go. I want zip top, external pocket, water bottle pocket and lightweight. I'm thinking if I also get waterproof that I can use it for outdoor concerts and beaches. I don't care for the look of Longchamp which I know is the favorite on TPF so I'm struggling to find good options (especially since I hate going into a stor. LOL!)

But I'm not looking for a fashion item. This will be a functional item. I won't even count it in my collection. It will be luggage. Are you looking for something you can wear fashionably or "down and dirty". LOL!
I would like to like the look of it but basically down and dirty. Lol

ETA: haha oops. Didn't notice I was in the mirror for one pic. Now you all know how dorky I look irl
Your beautiful! I can't believe so many pretty bags are in one mall. The mall nearest me has only a Macy's that has a tiny bit of Coach and MK . As far as the Bally went I did like it. I think the straps hurt when I had loaded it, but if I bought a small one I could switch to hand held if my shoulder bugged me. You found some real pretty bags .

What about MZ Wallace? Not totally inexpensive though for a nylon bag.

Going to check out some bags today. Though part of me is very tempted to order the small bally. The measurements are just right. I did realize I do have the kate spade bucket bag that can be worn in awful weather. It works well for a bucket bag but no where as easy as a tote. Even with the pockets it does become a bottomless pit by the end of the day.

We're almost at the close of the year. I'd like to write down some of my bag learnings/realizations this year:

1. Style - satchels/top handles are still my favorites, but I became open to totes in 2016. So really, never say never! I don't like to add to my totes at this point though, I think what I accumulated this year are more than enough. But I must say that I still get attracted to some. For shoulder bags/flap bags, I like looking at them, but I rarely reach them. I have 2 shoulder flap bags - Marc Jacobs Single and Massaccesi Zhoe Legend. They spark joy but I rarely use them, because of the style. A bit confusing! Hobo is the style that least works for me.

2. Color - I used to be a neutral color girl. Then the past year or so, I played with colors. I never thought I would search for a fuchsia pink bag! Although I have always considered red as neutral. But this year, I saw myself coming back to neutrals - greys, blacks, a few beige, not much red though. And I discovered a favorite color - blue!! There are some blues I consider neutral including dark navy and, some may disagree - the "Blue" of Longchamp Le Pliage Cuir, a bit royal blue.

3. Leather - I'm still consistent when it comes to my non-like for saffiano. But I've come to like pebbled leather more (at times) than smooth leather. Previously I didn't really get pebbled leather.

4. Brand - previously I told myself that my monogram LV will be my 1 and only LV. But this year I added a preloved Speedy 25 in Epi. And I'm open to other LVs in the future...

I'm not ready for my exact bag count now, but I think my net tally is just 2 bags in. I really did well in letting bags go in 2016, but I could have held off on some purchases.

What do you think of this ? Strap drop fits with my ski jacket but not much extra space , leather is not to heavy which is nice.

Ooh cute! Furla?

If the straps hurt on the Bally, don't do it. It doesn't soften. It's perfect as a travel bag cuz I don't wear it often on my shoulder lol.

Does it have to be a tote? Kind of seems it has to be, but if you're not sure on the Furla, then keep looking! So many options.

yes Furla.
This is dangerous. I was just in the tods outlet and they have a super sale. Had to walk out before I bought a bag I did not need . Some were even in the price range I am looking for. I wore my de Alma today finally.
