Lucky you there's only 5 people in your group. I had to give gifts to about 20 people in the 2 units I handle here. For the past years, I had given food items, pillow cases, rugs, towels. This year I just gave capuccino/latte sachets from Marks&Spencer which already came with individual gift bags. Just token gifts.

Btw, I'm happy that this year they spiced up our exchange gift here in our group in the office. We had an email thread about our wishlist. 3 items in the list. Minimum value of P300 or that's about $6. My wish list:
1. Furry bag charm
2. 1 pair of twilly
3. Italian leather satchel [emoji4]

Of course, the most important part of my item 3 was the smiley. Lol! There's a funny story on how my echange gift "daddy" looked for my items. Bottomline, I received items 1 and 2!

You made out well. These are adorable.

I am looking over the bags that made the cut this year. I really like what I am left with. Are you all happy with what made the final cuts for the year? This is the first year that I feel I was completely ruthless . If something didn't work out it went. This is thanks to you all telling me not to settle. I even have a red Mz Wallace bag that had been rarely worn the previous year and this year it was worn almost as much as my neverfull due to all your help with styling. Maybe in the 2017 thread we could reiterate what worked for us this year so the new comers have it a bit easier.

I do not know whether we are speaking of the same size, but I bought a Ferragamo Sofia Medium as a smaller than usual bag and it turned out to be very roomy! It fits a lot, only regular sized paper is getting crumpled...

hahahaha yes sofia medium is my largish bag. ooooohhhh what color is your sofia? can i see it?

For the most part, I carry the same thing every day: small French purse style wallet, sunglasses in case, tiny makeup pouch, misc. pouch, comb, small medicine box. So I only want bags that fit these items with a little extra space for one random item if needed. Like Missie, I find the Chanel Jumbo (single not double flap) to be the perfect size. I have bags a twenty bit larger or smaller up but they are in a very tight range. I have a couple of larger bags for the odd occasion I want to carry more and a couple of smaller cross bodies for when I want to carry less. But I just counted and 18 of my 26 bags are medium size.
One other consideration is that I think this size looks best on my frame. I'm 5'8" and regularly wear heels that make me 5'11" - 6". So teeny bags look childish on me. But I'm slim so big bags can overwhelm me.

For bags for you, remind me what kinds of bags you like. Flap? Hobo? Girly? Sporty? There are so many great medium sized bags that I want to offer up suggestions thet make sense for you.

wow, interesting that you bring almost same amount of stuffs everyday. now i understand how you can have mostly medium bag. my stuffs vary a lot so maybe that's why i feel i need organizing my bag according to the size and keep everything equal.

thanks again for the jumbo suggestion. i will definitely get one. btw do you know whta is the equivalent size in reissue?

the bags i like (and have multiples in different sizes) are veneta hobo, balenciaga moto and ferragamo sofia. ferragamo med is too large and sofia is too small. veneta large is right size (i think?) but no longstrap. so maybe small city, since city is too big? hmmmm anyone knows if small city is around the same capacity as speedy 30?

How does one play this? I am wondering if it is what we do at my inlaws. We each bring a new gift valued at the same amount. Then you pick numbers. First picks a package then second person can steal that gift or pick a package from the pile and so on.

it's interesting and sounds more like a game!

my cross cadeau is more like secret santa, i think. everyone pick a name and get a gift valued at around the same amount. or everyone buy a gift and and we put random number on the gift, then you pick a number to detrmine which gift you will get.

i think i will use your way for my new year's white elephant. thank you for the idea.

Definitely happy with what I have. A variety of brands, styles, and material to fit my lifestyle.

But I think we all have to stop some purchases from being made in the first place along with culling the collection. Selling is stressful, if we know it's not right at the store's register, we need to learn to walk away (and never look back!)

After all the giving away and everything, I like what I have now. I'm also very happy to learn that I can use small bags, too. :) I want to cut down my bag content even further, but I'm not sure if I can do it anymore. I still need some stuff for security blanket and just in case. ;). I want to go light in that category. :)

Happy for you, dc!
And yes I am very happy with the culling I did and also any additions I made! No regrets and I love each piece. I think I learnt a lot about what works for me

May I answer the question for you? :) The reissue is actually "in between" sizes when compare to Classic. The 226 will be about 11" while m/l is 10" and jumbo is 12". 227 will be about 12.5 which is a bit bigger than jumbo, but smaller than maxi.

Compare between reissue 227 and jumbo, the double flap can hold the least ,but not much less. The single flap can hold much more than a double flap and almost the same as 227, if not more. I can put a thick pocket book in my single flap, but have to forget it for the double flap and need a bit reorganization with 227 or just carry a thinner book. Some people will think reissue 227 holds more, but I think it hold the same as a single flap and that double flap holds less due to a more rigid structure. If a double flap is well used, my opinion may change. :)

Let me share something else: Today, I left for a week at my parents' house. I will spend Christmas with them and meet some friends from old times. I told my BF, I would pack about 3 bags. Turned out, I only packed one! [emoji15] It seemed that my caramel Peekaboo would go with all the selected outfits and boots. Weather should be fine. Just in case, I also brought a large LC Le Pliage in black - it is filled with books etc. but can easily be emptied out. I am still surprised... Feels risky concentrating on one bag, on the other hand, bags are safer at home than traveling. Good news is, I seem to have selected a really versatile bag! And: there will still be occasions where my other bags will come in handy, no jealousy [emoji6]

Maybe I have set myself a challenge, like 1 in 8 days? Update on day two: everything fine, but missed my furry Pom Pom charm and grey Bays - strangely enough as I tend to neglect them!?! :amuse:

Great answer, Vink. I saved this in Evernote so I can look at it in the future.

All things being equal like materials, the reissue strikes me as more casual and perhaps more easy to wear than the classic flap. Do you find that to be the case?

This is WONDERFUL! This is exactly what we aspire to: contentment and happiness with our collections.

I love the idea of everyone giving their lessons learned in the 2017 thread!!

I'm really happy with how my collection evolved over the year. Early on I was really struggling because I didn't have the right mix of bags and I wasn't excited about many of the bags in my collection. And even though I could afford it, I was hesitant to spend the money I needed to get the bags I really wanted. But everyone's support and feedback really helped me eliminate what wasn't working and add what I needed. I have a little more work to do but my collection makes me really smile now!!!!
