It's from Henri Bendel and they had a whole set of SLGs with this color. It was from summer though, so you might find it secondhand or in their clearances.
Speaking of Henri Bendel, I was surprised to receive as a Christmas token/gift a Henri Bendel candle (in a small can) yesterday. It's not a known brand here. But I suppose the lady who gave it to me travels a lot, so there.

I think it's a very pretty basic tote bag. Wear it well. ;)
Thanks Vink!

I bought a Henri Bendel bag recently. They have cute stuff [emoji173] for better or for worse (in my case [emoji81]) They don't accept direct international order from some countries (including Singapore).

The Michael Kors Geneva Satchel I bought is a definite no. I thought the clean lines would make it seem similar to my YSL Sm. Monogram Cabas. But, nope. The bag is simply boxy and plain. So back it goes.

That was my last Black Friday purchase. So my results for purchases in Nov & Dec:

LOVE:
• LV LockMe II BB
• Chanel Lambskin Tote (I'll share pictures in a bit)
Gucci Hoop Earrings

NICE:
Kate Spade Parchment

RETURNED:
• Knomo Laptop Bag
• MK Geneva Lg Satchel

That's a 50% hit rate. Oh no!
One of my 2017 goals was going to be a 100% hit rate. :whut:

I realized I spend far more time evaluating more expensive purchases. (It took me 3 years of hunting the right black bag to settle on my YSL! ) That, plus the fact that I don't usually have to compromise on features when I'm paying more, means almost every time I end up loving what I get. So I really, really, REALLY need to remind myself. Only buy what I love AFTER I've spent time evaluating it! I'm getting this tattooed on my forehead.

I'm also going to look at my 2017 goals again. :frown:

Just curious are your criteria fixed more or less? or it varies depending on how u intend to use it eg daily work, casual weekend, holiday trip, formal/ semi formal event?

Their candles are nice! You got a travel candle!

Yeah they have a lot of cute stuff so I only step in if I'm looking for something specific and there's a sale as they're a bit pricey for a contemporary brand. But their staff is super nice!

Everyone, never be afraid to enjoy what you have.

Scratches, creases, dents, smudges, stains, whatever.

These are things. Things meant to be enjoyed!!

Life is unpredictable. Enjoy everything that makes you happy.

What good is a pristine bag sitting on the shelf?

On the flip side, what good is a bag/item/person that makes you unhappy or stressed. Life is too short, let it all the things that weigh you down go.

I had pretty devastating news brought to me not too long ago. It hit home that life is crazy unpredictable and as long as everything is in your means and brings no harm to others, enjoy everything. You don't know what will come up in the future.
Very well put. Life is to be lived.
This has been a year of "use it or lose it" for me when it comes to possessions, and I feel a whole lot more free as a result.

OMG, I used to be all over the place which led to a lot of buyers remorse! But, I've spent the past 3-4 years overhauling my collection. I'm finally at the point of knowing the bags I need to support my wardrobe. I have a list of to buy bags described by color and type. For example I've identified that I need a M/L work appropriate grey workhorse satchel and a S/M casual gold shoulder bag. I don't buy a bag just because I see it and like it. Instead I start with the function, size and color I need then I evaluate bags that fit the criteria til I find one I fall in love with. Then I buy.

My general criteria:
• Medium size
• Structured bags - satchels, shoulder bags and cross bodies.
• Only real animal skins (leather, python, etc. and no saffiano unless it's Prada.)
• No over the top branding.
• And I'm fighting with this last point but just need to give in - I need to only buy premier brands because the styles and quality makes me happy.

Even so, sometimes I get it wrong like with the MK (I'm giving myself a pass on the Knomo because it's only going back because the dimensions listed were incorrect) That's why I'm trying to make 2017 the year I don't return or sell any bags I buy. I want to force myself to be more deliberate.

What'a your approach?

Thank you to everyone who is rejoicing with me about the house! sorry I can't go back and quote everyone.

Dc I think you asked about the house. It's a smallish 3/2 with a screened in back porch. It's vaguely gable/cottage style, which is as close to my dream cottage look as I'll get in south florida lol. I'm very very excited to make this house our own!!

Just finished signing the paperwork and I am now officially a homeowner!
Huge congratulations, liz... this is such a huge landmark in your life! Verry happy for you. A great way for you & DH to start the new year. :flowers:

If it will encourage you to be creative, I say go for it! I'm all for creativity.

Haha I need to buy the sketchbook that fits.

But I'll wait until the madness of the holidays dies down in the craft stores.

Very well put. Life is to be lived.
This has been a year of "use it or lose it" for me when it comes to possessions, and I feel a whole lot more free as a result.

It is freeing. I've been selling a portion but giving away most of it and seeing the happy faces of my relatives across the ocean with the stuff that they received makes me feel better.

So to me, it wasn't a matter of money wasted, as the items brought joy to someone else after I had my bit of joy.

Use it or let it go.
