2015:
> WALLET!!! DOWNSIZE MY WALLET WALLET!!!!!
> If I decide to buy something from a boutique, it better just be a dang wallet. I get *one*.
> No more restorations unless they are veeeeeery simple!!
> Find some dust bags for their corresponding brands. Not overpay for them either!
> Make my own custom shapers for my lovely purses~
> Do not buy anything I don't immediately fall in love with. Any hint of regret or indecisiveness and it stays behind!
> Try to make some creative mod shots
> Did I mention finding a wallet?
these are great resolutions and I hope to see some of your restored items. Do you have a wallet or style in mind? I used to have as many wallets as I do bags and downsized quite a bit.

Adding a wallet for me too. I'm not a big wallet changer person but do a new one. I've worn mine out.

Hi everyone, am very keen on joining in for 2015 :)

I didn't have a resolution for 2014 as I only really got into handbags this year (I also have a major weakness for shoes albeit high street) however I bought and sold many and only feel that I am really understanding what works for me now.

Currently my collection consists of:
- Suede Fossil cross body bag
- MBMJ Goodbye Columbus tote in black with brass hw
- Fossil Sydney satchel in cobalt blue with silver hw
- Michael Kors Selma satchel in dark dune (taupe) with gold hw
- Fossil Sydney satchel in magenta with gold hw
- Mulberry Bayswater in tan with gold hw
- Prada B1874 Saffiano tote in Cornflower blue and black with gold hw
- Fossil Sydney work bag in tan with silver hw
- French Connection black clutch bag with silver hw

My resolutions are to:

- Spend less than £1200 during 2015 on clothes.
I'm starting to use accessories more, like scarves and jewellery, to change the look of existing outfits. I also document daily my outfits and accessories using Stylebook, which is also handy for working out the cost per wear for my clothes and bags :) I need to shop from my wardrobe as much as possible.

- Decide if existing bags can be purged.
I used to use the Mulberry Bayswater all of the time for work as I could just about fit my laptop in, since I purchased the Fossil work bag I haven't used the Bayswater at all. The Fossil work bag is so light and when I go into the office I use that and usually one of the Sydney satchels or my Michael Kors Selma to keep make-up, purse, hairbrush etc in.
The Prada Saffiano tote was my HG....however....it was an impulse purchase at the time and I hadn't thought through the practicality. I have only used the bag a couple of times, to be honest I feel self conscious with it but also I have difficulty fitting my essentials in which hasn't made it practical. Perhaps I should have gone for a larger size with zips and in black, am considering selling but unsure how to go about it as it's an expensive item.
I love the practicality of the MBMJ Goodbye Columbus tote however I'm not sure if I am in love with it, perhaps I need to use it more before I make a decision.

- Be conscious of the gaps in my handbag collection.
I would still like to add a red leather bag that I'll love and use for years to come, a basic black leather tote with silver hw (have my eye on the Michael Kors Lana), a shopping tote, a hobo bag and also Longchamp Le Pliage for shopping and travel. I only have 1 SLG, a leather purse from Dune, which I am looking to replace. Possibly with an LV Zippy Compact Wallet NM in Epi Leather, am happy to make in investment in a long lasting wallet but would need to save for it! That's 5 x handbags and 1 x wallet.

- One in one out!
Anything beyond the above I need to invoke the one in one out policy and also purge my wardrobe of items to raise additional funds.

Apologies for war and peace, am really looking forward to getting to know everyone and will also be looking for support to stick to my resolutions and also advice (especially with the second one). Here's to 2015!

Great resolution and very thought out.

Yes! This right here. I often impulse buy online. The thrill is great, but once the purchased item arrives, it wears off quickly and I'm looking for something else in no time.

I'm actually looking to buy a lot of clothes this year--nearly all for work though. I read an article in Elle this summer that really spoke to me, lol. Basically the author explained how at the age of 35, she had a closet chock full of clothes that she bought in her 20s that did her no good. Lots of thrift store finds, fast fashion like H&M, etc, and one-offs from the sales rack at expensive stores. Therefore, despite the closet being quite full, she often had 'nothing to wear.'

I've already donated two huge bags of clothes this past year, but I still have so much more to go through! I won't be impulse buying online, but going to stores and trying things on and taking my time to find clothes that flatter my body.

I'm still allowing myself a few bags this year, but they will all be researched thoroughly ahead of time. No more than 6, so one every other month at the most. I want to primarily shop my closet for bags, and figure out what needs to go by the end of next year.

You are right on target with what I want to do as well.

I'll be shopping from my own collection too. Saving up for retirement and a new car. Also losing weight and being debt free.

Fantastic resolution! I will be doing the losing weight one too. A few years ago I joined a thread in the money part of this forum that was called the curbing consumerism thread and got completely out of debt. You can do it.

Ooh I forgot I also bought a new-to-me Balenciaga this year. This one -

Really, how could I have forgotten them...
So I am even more determined to make 2015 a year free of bag purchases.

these are great resolutions and I hope to see some of your restored items. Do you have a wallet or style in mind? I used to have as many wallets as I do bags and downsized quite a bit.

I've had my eye on some of the smaller Ferragamo wallets. I'm so tired of the longer "clutch" wallets. I've settled with carrying my Hello Kitty wallet (hehehehe) the past few months and it's also ... A longer clutch-type wallet....
I'm looking for a literal downsize, something wristlet-sized that can still fit what I need (about five cards?). The challenge is finding it in the colour/pattern I like.
Saw a gorgeous sparkly snake-pattern wallet at Coach but of course not in a smaller size.

Don't feel bad, some of us have done that. I lost two Fendi bags in my closet and just forgot about them months after. Then when I was cleaning the closet out, I found them stuck behind the clothing racks. One going sell one if not both because that taught me I just didn't think about them.

That whole situation taught me I desperately need to purge items.

Yay, hello kitty! I love her hehe... I'm also looking for a smaller wallet but have my eye on the LV ZCP (have you seen it?) - it has a lot of organization but is very compact (smaller than a wristlet size) and I like that it zips up so everything stays contained. Coach has a zcp also but I think it's slightly larger and the coin pouch part is like an actual pouch inside the wallet - I like that the lv one is built into it as a section divider, kwim? Looking forward to see what you end up with =)

These are beautiful! Well, now it's like you just got 2 new items ready to go for 2015 =)

I want to participate this year. As another poster mentioned the initial thrill of a new bag wears off and then I start looking for something new. I had resolved last new years to enjoy my collection but did not last very long. I did sell a lot because we moved but once we moved I started the cycle of impulse buying, returning or selling....and buying something else. When I received 2 new bags for Christmas last week and then started checking the after Christmas sales, I decided I should try again this year.

I have 10 bags in my collection now and would like to really use them this year.
