2015 resolution - shopping from my own bag and wallet collection. Any one else?

I want to participate this year. As another poster mentioned the initial thrill of a new bag wears off and then I start looking for something new. I had resolved last new years to enjoy my collection but did not last very long. I did sell a lot because we moved but once we moved I started the cycle of impulse buying, returning or selling....and buying something else. When I received 2 new bags for Christmas last week and then started checking the after Christmas sales, I decided I should try again this year.

I have 10 bags in my collection now and would like to really use them this year.
Good luck! It took me a few years before becoming somewhat better at shopping from my own closet. I think it just takes time :)

Oh boy this is hard to resist....
Now I know why you've had your eye on it. So many choices!
I know! I haven't purchased mine yet because I can't decide 100 per cent what to get - DE print, black multi-color? Or epi?!?! (and I want to let go of another wallet or 2 to keep my numbers down).

This - soooo me and I found stylebook helped me so much. I love looking at a leaner wardrobe and have been quite diligent in using my accessories to 'up' an outfit or give it a different feel. I still need to practice, but at least I'm using them more. One step at a time. I also gave myself a monetary limit for clothing and am excited about it! This year, I didn't do that but I tracked all my purchases and I think I will be find with $1,000 for the year - not including any major investment pieces (but I don't have any (off the top of my head) in mind)

I've still had a bit of a sort through as still have a few items that barely get used, am much happier with the accessories, bags and shoes side of things :) I'm definitely going to be tracking my purchases and will be a lot more thoughtful about what I actually need as opposed to a quick fix. Kind of excited for 2015 now!

Hi all, lurker and occasional poster over the last 2 years, but hoping to be more active this year. I did pretty well with purchasing this year-four bags, some SLGs, and a few Le Pliages, though still more than my goal of 2 or 3 bags. In 2015, my main thing is that I would like a new wallet and key pouch. I'm thinking LV DE and Zippy Compact for the wallet. I'm a one wallet girl, so I want it to be something that will work well and hold up well. I've also been debating a speedy b for years now, so if/when I pass my professional exams (a non bag goal of mine), I think I'll make that my reward. Overall, I hope to limit myself to 2-3 bags and a few more le pliages. I also want to do at least one in one out. I've been good about purging in the past couple of years and am at around 15 bags now. I know I still have some more bags I can let go...maybe get down to 12 bags. Lastly, non bag related, like many of you weight loss is a goal too. I need to start tracking my eating again, and I would like to keep up with the running I've been doing.

I have to say, I really love my DE ZCP. I went to the store intending to buy the mono, but fell in love with the DE. It's so cute on this little wallet.
But if you love the MC, you may want to grab it b/c I think it's discontinued. Plus it has a choice of colored interiors. :graucho:

(Wow, I'm already enabling... please don't kick me out before we even start 2015! )

I am in!!!! Very bag content. I really think I can do it, I have too many bags that I don't use but can't seem to part with, so I will just keep them for now. I basically rotate my 3 Chloes - black paraty, caramel paraty & tan Marcie Satchel & BV Veneta hobo throughout the year. My Chloes are well made, go with everything. I have been using them each months at a time for the past few years and no stains, just perfect quality leather.

I don't have any wish list bags at this time but if I happen to discover a bag that I just "need" I will sell some of my others.

My 2015 goal is to sell / donate / trade all of the stuff that I have that I don't even like that much. I finally got rid of a few things and it felt really good.
That's great! I wish I had someone to trade with - I'd love to let go of a few contemporary bags for one premier bag - more so to get down in numbers faster haha.

I knooow, it's my goto haha, but I checked out the new epi and I didn't like it as much - not sure if the new epi was for seasonal colors or not but if not, then I might have to find a preloved older epi. I just like it more, feels way sturdier.

Great to hear from you, I saw you drop by in the 2014 thread =) Great job on getting down to 15, one day that will be me (hopefully =)). GL with our professional exams!

This is why I might get the MC - but, DE is my fave print and it is SO SO SO cute in the ZCP, but Epi is so sturdy... argh

stop enabling me =P LOL

I think it's great that you have a solid rotation of bags that work for you. I find I rotate between a handful of bags but just can't let go of the others yet. One day =)

My DH surprised with a new bag today, just under the wire before 2015! So now, mindful of my resolution, I've diligently set aside another bag in my collection as a donation to our local Goodwill. I know if I don't, my collection will mysteriously balloon as it has so often in the past.

:noggin:

So I ended 2014 with a final purchase - the blue Sarah Morris Le Pliage with black handles. But I recently shipped a bag off to consignment, it was posted today and it sold immediately - hooray! So that is a nice way to end the year.
