My October recap is
1 bag in, 0 bag out.
0 SLG in, 0 SLG out. :)

I got a reply on the house and we got it!!! :D The contract will be signed next week and hopefully the renovation and interior can start after that. I'm not looking for a total makeover. Just something like a tweak to make it match my liking. We still have my current condo for a current living. I'll have to go over this so many many times!!! I'm excited!!! :)

(Just thinking of moving the furniture get me nervous. I'll have to get over this.) :)
That is so exciting Congrats!

Msd-Don't feel bad about 4 bags. I have done that as well. Thanks for the bday wishes. Also are the Massacessi bags very heavy?
Vink-Thank you as well.
Egg- I agree with everyone you need to go try that bag on if you can. That might solve the problem or it might get you saving for it, but at least you will know. For a long time I really wanted the LV Bloomsbury in the worst way,but when I finally tried it on it looked great but the hard brown strap hurt my shoulder so bad with barely anything it. That was the end of it for me.

How exciting about the house!! I'm sure you would want to move right in. And you said it has a nice view, right? Maybe you could share that view when you're already there. [emoji4]

I have my midi Minerva out since it has been my bag since Wednesday or Thursday last week. And I still will use it this coming week. So here are some photos for you, lighting is not very good. Im happy to share my love for this bag. [emoji7]

I'm not sure what size of magazine you're thinking about, but for this one, the edge is right at the start of the lining. A little wider and the magnetic closure might not work. The bag doesn't slouch much at the top with the mag in. The first full photo is without the magazine. The longer front flap may be better if you plan to put some stuff in the outside pockets. Notice how thick the leather is!

I think they have that wine red in natural calf, which is a stiffer leather and what they recommend for the more structured bags.

I think this bag is more than 2 lbs. But they say that the newly released leather called merinos is lighter (the 2nd swatch in the earlier pic). My current order is in Merinos so I'll know in a week or so. I know your limit is 2lbs.

Thanks! You bag is a beauty.

This thread has helped me figure out what I want. I've coveted certain things and shared them here, and it's helped that when I stray from the dream bag, someone reminds me that I have a dream bag that I want more than the deal of the day.

I also know I have enough and that I should just enjoy what I have. :) But I shouldn't be focused on maintaining or obtaining a certain number. I should be happy with what I buy, keep, and sell at all times.

Totally agree that the focus shouldn't be a specific number but to love and enjoy every bag we have[emoji4]

I just don't use it enough. Somewhere this summer I realized I have it all, bag wise and just don't use this one. I feel bad it sits unused. It was a gift though so who knows. I do like having a small tote.

Is there a particular reason why the bag is not used? Which model is it?

Hey guys, here's a question for you -- this year I am really loving the look of the single top-handle bag, especially the Celine trapeze bag. I don't want to spend that much money on it because I KNOW that the style is not practical for my daily life and needs, but I really love it. I was thinking of buying a similar/inspired bag but have gotten to a point where (1) I don't want to spend even a few hundred dollars for a similar style from a contemporary brand, but also (2) I don't to waste money on a poorly made bag just for the style, no matter how inexpensive (mostly because the less expensive you get, you can really start to tell the difference) because I have a very low threshold as to how much (or little) I want to pay... I also know I would ideally love to have it in a calf hair... should I just take the plunge and purchase something in the $100 range and just get over my pining for it? or just forget about it all together?

From all your posts about the Trapeze, it seems that you doubt that any inspired version would make you happy and it has been in your mind for several months.
The price though, and the issue of ease of use are the main blocks, right?
I agree that it is healthy to have a few bags that are not necessarily practical for our life style but are still usable and makes you smile[emoji5]️
In my experience, if there are any doubts about longevity, I always buy an inspired version to test out as well as trying the 'real thing' IRL especially if it's pricy.
It saved my b*** several times (namely the Celine Trio and LV Turenne)
If I didn't get an inspired one, I would have wasted thousands on bags that were neither practical FOR ME and nor made me happy for long.
I donated the inspired bags once I was sure I weren't going to use these anymore.
Not sure if this is helpful or making it more confusing [emoji28]. Sorry!

Before I answer your other question I just have to say this is stunning. It was well worth the wait.

Thanks dcooney and Happy Birthday[emoji513]!! To echo the others, am very interested to see the micro picture. Sounds amazing!

I have learned a lot from this thread. I have found that a bag does not need to cost a fortune to be well made. There were so many beauties on here that were reasonably priced it did back fire a bit for a while as I bought more reasonably priced bags. Through all the exercises though I have learned what really works for me and what doesn't. I have less bags since I joined this thread but the ones I have work so much better for me. My bags are also more organized and easy to access ,so it much easier to rotate them. I am still handbag obsessed but in a controlled manner.

Totally agree, organization is absolutely key to enjoying our bags[emoji106]

This is gorgeous! So worth all this waiting!

Thanks so much!

To answer a question "What I learned from this thread?". First - It is ok to be a handbag lover, no harm if you own more than one. :) I am also more selective and consider pros and cons before buying another sale bag which would give me a great feeling because it was a such great purchase but would stay in my closet unused because it doesn't fit my needs. Third, there are so many great brands out there which don't get that much attention but make amazing bags, like MZ Wallace, Gigi New York or Massaccesi. To be honest, I am also enjoying carrying something not so many other people have.
Price and name don't always make it a great bag, quality and functionality do.

Absolutely!! So many designers out there producing beautiful, covetable bags at reasonable cost and price. Learnt about a few from this thread[emoji4]

.

it's beautiful, congrats!!

Thanks egg

So it was mommy duties that made you temporarily absent here. ;) Glad his exams are over and done with.

That's good about patience. Maybe what I learned about this thread is to be more true to myself, we almost always 'declare' what we buy, so I also have to own up to my purchases. No lame excuses why I got this or why I got that. (Well, actually I do try to look for excuses at times. :graucho:) But at least I get to verbalize my "ins" and if there are so many ins in a row, that becomes a wake up call for me to slow down. And then I really liked it when we posted our collection according to some categories, woke me up from more madness.

I am glad the exams are over too. Also my baby started weaning a few days back. Have been refreshing my brain on types of food, blender brands, how much, how often etc etc.

I hear you on disclosure about what we buy. It keeps us honest and reflecting back what we bought and why definitely helps with our decision making and thought process[emoji4]

I feel less restless. I used to shop for stress-relieve. And I don't really think much about what I already have. I used to only think if I really like the item or not. Now, I think of what I already have, too, and it helps me to restrain myself much better. I find I'm less stressed with what I have and I start to have more fun in buying stuff again. I mean I don't buy as much as I used to anymore. But let's say if it were before joining this thread and getting rid of bags that's not suit my taste anymore, no way I'd buy that cute black mini bag. It's just a fun bag and I always look for practicality first thing when I buy. And when I look at the practical pieces I found and liked, I think of what I already have then, the want simmer down and I feel like I already have a great wardrobe again. :)

Spot on![emoji106]

Aw... I love it, too!!!! The cow hide is still so white and clean! Congrats!!!

Thanks vink. Isn't its condition just excellent? And I got it for about USD750!
Am still in disbelief that I got one of my wish list bag at such a great price and in excellent condition too🤗

Oh wow Congratulations!'[emoji322][emoji322]
Am so thrilled for your family and you of course! I can just imagine what a wonderful feeling it is to finally sign on the dotted line for a new house.
Exciting times indeed!
You have to update us on the redecorating you plan to do[emoji5]️

This passed week I rotated bags quite a bit. I wore my Cole Haan tote, LV Totally Mm , and yesterday I wore my m0851 matador satchel

Great job on lowering CPW on these bags and bet you enjoy carrying all of these[emoji122]🏻

Size comparison with an 11" by 14" smaller painting. Ignore how they are hung on the wall. They are just stuck there till we paint the living room this week .

It is three inches not two. I normally am not a fan of still life's but I found this one unique.

Thanks for the pics. That IS small, what extra details do you see if a magnifying glass is used?

Your daughter looks adorable. As far as the coach bags go ,if you are sure you do not want to use them do you have an neighbor who would really like them or do you have thrift shops near you that would sell them for you?

That is so exciting Congrats!

Thank you! :) I'm excited, too! I just talked with one of my brothers the other day that I'll have to start thinking about how to redecorate the place if I get it and maybe how long it may take and maybe I'm thinking too much and then the owner called. :)

DD is like a spoiled kid in the family full of adults. :D She's very energetic and talkative. :) She didn't want to peel those stickers off at the end of day. :)

I may look into store to help me sell. But since they're older bags, I don't even know if they'll take it or not. But I'll check them out. But first I really want to give it away first. My neighbors are kind of very old and at the age where they prefer a small fabric or canvas zip-top tote. :( I don't think they will like the size, but maybe I'll ask to see if maybe they'll have someone in the family that may like the bag. :) it's not a huge bag, but when everything larger than 12" is considered extra large, this is quite humongous. :(

This is one that you do not need the magnification. His landscapes and seascapes you need them so you can see the details of the people's clothing and the buildings or animals. This one I liked because I do not ever paint still life's and I could see it without magnifying it. I tend to paint landscapes and animals. The frog in the water in the second picture is one of mine. So we bought something that I would not want to paint myself if that makes sense.

Last week I also used my Libaire backpack for an afternoon to try it out again. I thought I would sell it ,but it has so many compartments and the leather is still beautiful and light weight that I am going to keep it for now. The only thing I wish is that the hardware was silver instead of brass.
