You're right. I went looking for an inspired option and found 2 - loved the look of them but I couldn't get over the quality... that is really a tough one for me. Even with the low price, I couldn't bring myself to buy it because the quality isn't there.

Have you looked at something like the Clare V Sandrine satchel? It is obviously different than the Celine but it has the wings and would probably be easier to use since it doesn't have the flap.

Ha! No wonder you're cosy[emoji1]. Any party plans for the weekend?
We don't celebrate it here but since my sis is visiting us for a couple of months from Australia, we are having a scary movie fest tomorrow.
We plan to watch Nightmare Before X'mas with the kids and The Changeling for the adults only hour.
Has anyone watched these? Reviews?
Went out earlier and bought tons of snacks for the movie session (popcorn, ice cream, chips, candies, pretzels, drinks and cut fruits!)
My dad took one look and said 'Are we expecting the whole block to join us?' [emoji38]

Also, a very special delivery may arrive tomorrow. If it does, will update as it's a very special purchase[emoji7]

I don't know about the other one, but The Nightmare before Christmas is one of my favorite movies. :)

I really expect photo of that delivery. ;)

Hello! I'm late to the party, but I'd love to join this "shopping from my own collection" resolution. Moving apartments made me realize that I need to downsize my collection. Now I'm on a strict, no-bags diet (at least until the end of the year)!

Today, I took my long-neglected Coach Kristin crossbody out for a stroll. I bought mine back in 2012, and it still looks brand new!

Welcome to the thread! I'm not here long either, but the ladies here are very nice. Please join in and share your dream with us. ;)

Just realised while replying to bake that the most valuable/significant behavior change I noticed since participating in this thread, is that I am definitely more patient.
So patient that the item that I am waiting for today, has been a 3 months journey.
The item has been on my wish list for 2 years and I decided it is definitely needed after the baby was born so it got bumped up the wish list.
To get a barely used one at a bargain is a tall order though. I gave myself 2 months to search for the perfect one and if none surfaced, I will have to pony up more cash.
Found several in as-new condition but with price tags to match and almost gave up until I found 'the one'[emoji173]️
Started a discussion with the seller and lucky for me, she's a really sweet young woman who likes to buy but never have time to use due to her job demands.
It is due to her job that we had problems closing the deal. She was constantly outstation (overseas) and only stopped by home for a few days before jetting off somewhere else.
There's been a couple of times that I vented in this thread about the problem of purchasing this particular item.
I even thought it wasn't meant to be. There were other exact items at higher prices that I could've bought months ago.
Something tells me to wait and in the end, I think it's worth it.
My only worry is that I've built up the item in my mind that I might be disappointed when I receive it. Hoping the wait is worth it.

What significant change in your behavior towards bags that you've noticed since joining the thread?

I feel less restless. I used to shop for stress-relieve. And I don't really think much about what I already have. I used to only think if I really like the item or not. Now, I think of what I already have, too, and it helps me to restrain myself much better. I find I'm less stressed with what I have and I start to have more fun in buying stuff again. I mean I don't buy as much as I used to anymore. But let's say if it were before joining this thread and getting rid of bags that's not suit my taste anymore, no way I'd buy that cute black mini bag. It's just a fun bag and I always look for practicality first thing when I buy. And when I look at the practical pieces I found and liked, I think of what I already have then, the want simmer down and I feel like I already have a great wardrobe again. :)

Have you looked at something like the Clare V Sandrine satchel? It is obviously different than the Celine but it has the wings and would probably be easier to use since it doesn't have the flap.

Thanks for the recommendation! I just checked it out and really like it but it's actually quite similar to the coach Candace satchel I have. The Clare V has a wider base which I really really like, and wouldn't mind the leopard print one but I think I like it because it's similar to what I already have. I like the Celine because it's so differernt from what I have.

Hey guys, here's a question for you -- this year I am really loving the look of the single top-handle bag, especially the Celine trapeze bag. I don't want to spend that much money on it because I KNOW that the style is not practical for my daily life and needs, but I really love it. I was thinking of buying a similar/inspired bag but have gotten to a point where (1) I don't want to spend even a few hundred dollars for a similar style from a contemporary brand, but also (2) I don't to waste money on a poorly made bag just for the style, no matter how inexpensive (mostly because the less expensive you get, you can really start to tell the difference) because I have a very low threshold as to how much (or little) I want to pay... I also know I would ideally love to have it in a calf hair... should I just take the plunge and purchase something in the $100 range and just get over my pining for it? or just forget about it all together?

Have you tried it on yet? Or take a look at how it'll hold stuff over time? Maybe look into the pre-loved market? If you know you won't be happy with the inspired bag, then, looking around for the best option won't help. I think, if possible, you should visit the boutique and try it on. Sometimes, even though you desire it so bad, trying it on sometimes help with ideas a lot. But if you still really want one, but don't want to pay full price, pre-love is also a good way to go. Good luck! :)

This is easier said than done, but from my experience, I know I won't really use inspired by items more than 1 or 2 times. Sometimes it is not just the looks of the bag that attract me, it is really the total package - leather, craftmanship, and it may sound shallow, but the truth is, I really look at the name/brand too. I bought a Mulberry small Bayswater (no strap; is that called the mini?) inspired bag at a thrift shop. I used it just ONE time after I bought it. When the excitement wore off, I couldn't get myself to use it again knowing that it is not the real thing.

You're not the only one. Me, too! :) That's also what struck me as the surprise with my latest buy. :) Maybe I'm loosen up a bit. But I'm still have this feeling inside. :)

Here we are at the end of the month. How did everyone do?
For me it is a first with nothing coming in. I have 0 bags in, 0 slgs in, 4 bags out, 4 slgs out,
This is huge for me since my bday was this month and I usually wish for a bag. Instead I wished for an original painting from a unique painter who makes full paintings that are about 2inches wide. For some of the paintings you actually need a magnifying glass to see all the detail.

Belated happy birthday!! That painting sounds very interesting. Could you please share it when you get it? I really want to see.

It arrived and I LVOE it!!!!
Have to run some errands so just a quick shot of my beautiful long awaited Speedy B30 in Azur[emoji7][emoji7]
Congrats!! This looks very nice!

Belated Happy Birthday DC! I'm intrigued with this painting. :smile1:

Aha, time to declare - :shame::blushing: - I had 4 bags in, 1 bag out and 1 slg in. The 4th bag is a Massaccesi group bespoke offered at 20% regular price. Since I really intended to get this bag style either December or January 2016, I joined the group order to avail of the discount. Is that bad? :graucho: And then I am not usually a SLG person, but this was bought very cheap (lame excuse...). It is a Marcj Jacobs pre-loved WOC.

I'm sure DD had a great time and enjoyed being a fairy!! I would have wanted to be a fairy princess. :D

It feels good also to gift our bags sometimes instead of selling. I hope you could find recipients who will enjoy these big bags.

The pebbled Massaccesi leather is not stiff IMO. Maybe at first, but when it softens with use, just as my light grey midi Minerva, I think it looks even more beautiful. My midi Minerva is light grey with silver hardware just as you want! ;) I'm guessing the merinos will be a little more delicate considering it is very soft. The pebbled is thick but not stiff. The size of the midi Minerva is just right for me. You might be surprised when it first arrives, it would seem really big. But I think, over time, when the leather becomes softer and a bit more slouchy, it would not seem enormous anymore. I'm thinking the full size Minerva might be too big? I will post comparison photos of the leathers when I get my merinos midi Soulmate bag.

Glad to hear you are enjoying your Bally! It is a beautiful bag!

Vink - btw, here is a comparison photo of pebbled and merinos swatches

Yay for the comparison photo!!! Thank you so much!!! :) Wow! The texture of the leather on the swatch looks great! I like the pebble one more. It looks soft and bounce-y. :)
Can your midi Minerva hold a magazine? I mean it's not a deal breaker, but it would be nice. I try to find the dimension of the bag, but I get lost in the sea of information. :(

There're so many color to choose from, but right now, my eye is quite set in light gray. A deep dark red like a shade of Merlot is also nice (light GHW for this one, of course.), but I haven't found it and I'm not at the time to approach them and make request yet. But I think Minerva is a gorgeous model. I love the one with longer flap. I just love all the compartments. That's how far I've come with contemplating this order. :) If the pebble can get so soft afterward, maybe I can go with it. I really want it to be a puddle like my teal Regalo. That's why I'm looking into Merino. From what I've seen on everyone choices so far, all will be a gorgeous ones!

To me, it sounds like you really want to use this bag as a bigger player in your closet. I mean you're not looking to carry it only a few times just for fun so I really really want you to try the real thing on, if possible, and maybe look at it on the YouTube channel or review of people wearing it? But I'm really itchy to say pre-love if you said you want to save some money. :)

My October recap is
1 bag in, 0 bag out.
0 SLG in, 0 SLG out. :)

I got a reply on the house and we got it!!! :D The contract will be signed next week and hopefully the renovation and interior can start after that. I'm not looking for a total makeover. Just something like a tweak to make it match my liking. We still have my current condo for a current living. I'll have to go over this so many many times!!! I'm excited!!! :)

(Just thinking of moving the furniture get me nervous. I'll have to get over this.) :)

DD said she wanted to be a fairy princess, so I put her in one of her puffy dress, then I got a toy wings from the toy store ( I'm so tempted to do it myself since it's not hard, but I just don't have the time so I think I'll just buy it instead.) when couple with some tiara and a homemade wand, voila! :) I did get a facial sticker from misc store that sell everything for 2 dollars and put it on her face. She loves it! :)

I think the design is just so pretty. :)

I never get to dress up when I was a child, too, but DD's school is big on kid's activities and I think it's such a fun event. I like fancy dressing. :D It's a great opportunity to put a spin of DIY on things. Some mom at school sew up a kangaroo outfits out of a towel! I'm in awe!!!

Yeah.. One time, I got sent a bag and the tax was so high the post officer said something must be wrong with the sender coz this bag look like nothing and it's not even a LV. ;) I could only smile sheepishly, paid my bills and left. :) I so don't want people to know how much exactly I pay for my stuff. Well, DH still don't know how much I paid for each of my bags, especially my Chanels. :D

I saw you on the Massaccesi thread. :) I'm a lurker there. :) Could you please tell me when you get this bag what's the difference between the Merino and the Pebble after you get the bespoke? I'm so curious and really want to order a Minerva. I can't decide between a full-size and a midi. :( One day, the full-size seems like a better idea, another day, a midi just look better. Arg! I can't decide. I'm not in a hurry. :) I hope this to be one of my quota next year. :) I'm thinking gray (the lighter one, perhaps?) with silver hardware. :) I like the puddle of leather, but I don't know if the Merino will be too delicate or the Pebble will be too stiff. :)

I'm not selling those 3 bags I'm getting rid of. :) I plan to give them away. :) But I just can't find the right person to give them to. :( They're older style of Coach any they're big. It's just hard to think of anyone who wear this type of bag when now the smaller bags are in fashion. I like big bag myself, but not many of my friends do. :(

I hope you have a good time with family gathering on All-Saint day! :)

Your daughter looks adorable. As far as the coach bags go ,if you are sure you do not want to use them do you have an neighbor who would really like them or do you have thrift shops near you that would sell them for you?
