Here we are at the end of the month. How did everyone do?
For me it is a first with nothing coming in. I have 0 bags in, 0 slgs in, 4 bags out, 4 slgs out,
This is huge for me since my bday was this month and I usually wish for a bag. Instead I wished for an original painting from a unique painter who makes full paintings that are about 2inches wide. For some of the paintings you actually need a magnifying glass to see all the detail.

egg- This is a tough call on the celine trapeze bag. It is a cool looking bag but it looks frustrating to get in and out of. I have the little fossil bag on the right that has those little extension pieces and I am always a bit nervous that I will lose stuff out of them. Though being much smaller it has not happened yet. Just something to think about . Have you actually held one or tried to put your things in one?

I always admire your black and blue Dooneys!

To answer a question "What I learned from this thread?". First - It is ok to be a handbag lover, no harm if you own more than one. :) I am also more selective and consider pros and cons before buying another sale bag which would give me a great feeling because it was a such great purchase but would stay in my closet unused because it doesn't fit my needs. Third, there are so many great brands out there which don't get that much attention but make amazing bags, like MZ Wallace, Gigi New York or Massaccesi. To be honest, I am also enjoying carrying something not so many other people have.
Price and name don't always make it a great bag, quality and functionality do.

I totally agree!

So it doesn't have the same level of practicality as your other bags, but it's meeting a different need in your collection. That's just as fair and just as valid as your practical bags. Although, again, I would opt for the pre-loved route on this one. And maybe reconsider on the calf-hair. I don't really like bags that I have to baby too much.
I thought about pre-loved too but it's still more than what I want to pay for a bag that might not get much use, hence an inspired or similar (not a fake though) might be an option depending on the price and quality. So far the options ive seen for what i want tooay, is not of good quality, or even mediocre :( I will rethink the calf hair though, for sure.

It arrived and I LVOE it!!!!
Have to run some errands so just a quick shot of my beautiful long awaited Speedy B30 in Azur[emoji7][emoji7]

it's beautiful, congrats!!

that's awesome dc! And happy belated birthday! Also, the painting sounds really cool!!

your fossil looks beautiful btw, definitely a bag I'd go for myself haha. I'm not too worried about things falling out of the extension part, mostly hesitant because of the flap. I think getting in and out of it would annoy me. No I haven't had the chance to try on irl. I definitely wouldn't be buying the Celine for these con reasons, but can't stopping thinking about it, it's been a year - it ay be one of the bags that just haunts me.

I'm sure you'll come up with something you'll be happy with for your brother's wedding. :smile1:

Some co-workers sometimes ask, but I know they do not do so to judge. They are plain and simple curious/they want to gauge if that certain bag is within their means to buy. I remember one time, the driver who I requested to claim 2 Massaccesi bags (1 package) for me at the post office where Express international mails are claimed got to talk to the secretary about how much I paid. And that was not even for the bag! It was only for customs duty! I think the secretary was shocked at the amount. And I didn't clarify that that was only for customs duties and taxes, on top of the amount I paid for the bag.

I'm curious about the costume! :smile1:

We didn't have Halloween when I was growing up. So I never got to dress up. I would want to do it one day. :D How did you manage to be a sushi??! Lol! Goodluck on your outfit this season.

My goal is to stop anymore bag purchases. But then again, as Tuuli pointed out there is your Big Friday sale to which we have access (well, not all sales). Just today, I signed up for a group bespoke Massaccesi bag. I wanted to buy the same bag next year. But now it's 20% off, so how can I not take advantage! It's my Christmas gift to myself! November and December should be a total ban!!

I'm late in gift buying this year. I buy for staff I work with at the office. Normally, by September I'm done. These are just token gifts btw. To date, bought nothing yet. And then for family, nothing yet too!! Boy, I think I have to start!

I hope you find buyers for your bags! With my purchases this October, I have decided to list a few more bags, but I think I can only get to do that next week. I'm going to my hometown this weekend. Here in my country, we celebrate All Saints Day on November 1. (So many years ago, Halloween was not big here, it was only All Saints Day that we celebrated. This is the time to visit our dearly departed. Normally there is a "fiesta"-like atmosphere in the cemeteries.)

Well, talking about my weekend trip, in my mind I have already been thinking which bag(s) to bring aside from my travel bag - likely my Massaccesi Minerva which I want to show my sisters and my MZ Wallace crossbody for the trip to the 'eternal garden' (one name we use for the cemetery).

DD said she wanted to be a fairy princess, so I put her in one of her puffy dress, then I got a toy wings from the toy store ( I'm so tempted to do it myself since it's not hard, but I just don't have the time so I think I'll just buy it instead.) when couple with some tiara and a homemade wand, voila! :) I did get a facial sticker from misc store that sell everything for 2 dollars and put it on her face. She loves it! :)

I think the design is just so pretty. :)

I never get to dress up when I was a child, too, but DD's school is big on kid's activities and I think it's such a fun event. I like fancy dressing. :D It's a great opportunity to put a spin of DIY on things. Some mom at school sew up a kangaroo outfits out of a towel! I'm in awe!!!

Yeah.. One time, I got sent a bag and the tax was so high the post officer said something must be wrong with the sender coz this bag look like nothing and it's not even a LV. ;) I could only smile sheepishly, paid my bills and left. :) I so don't want people to know how much exactly I pay for my stuff. Well, DH still don't know how much I paid for each of my bags, especially my Chanels. :D

I saw you on the Massaccesi thread. :) I'm a lurker there. :) Could you please tell me when you get this bag what's the difference between the Merino and the Pebble after you get the bespoke? I'm so curious and really want to order a Minerva. I can't decide between a full-size and a midi. :( One day, the full-size seems like a better idea, another day, a midi just look better. Arg! I can't decide. I'm not in a hurry. :) I hope this to be one of my quota next year. :) I'm thinking gray (the lighter one, perhaps?) with silver hardware. :) I like the puddle of leather, but I don't know if the Merino will be too delicate or the Pebble will be too stiff. :)

I'm not selling those 3 bags I'm getting rid of. :) I plan to give them away. :) But I just can't find the right person to give them to. :( They're older style of Coach any they're big. It's just hard to think of anyone who wear this type of bag when now the smaller bags are in fashion. I like big bag myself, but not many of my friends do. :(

I hope you have a good time with family gathering on All-Saint day! :)

Good luck with the three bags on the chopping block.

I have started the holiday gift shopping, but mostly for my daughter. I bought the older boys and my dh each a pair of brooks brothers pants and the my younger son some Dr. Martens . I am trying to wait for good sales like I got the pants on.

I think my Dd is slowly starting to like bags. The other day she texted me a photo of a kate spade bag she ordered at 75% off and then paid for it with gift cards she was given. Total cost to her nothing. I am so proud.

I hope I can think of the name fast. I don't want to it to mix up with the Christmas/new year presents.

I can't help but smile so wide while reading about your DD. :) Such a smart young lady. :)

Thanks! I wish I could wear it but it feels a little too tight.

To be sushi, I wore a white tee and black trousers with a pink pillow that I had glued ribbon on to make it look like salmon. Tied it on me with a black sash to look like sashimi. Haha. That was fun. Then I clipped little felt pieces on my head to be ginger and wasabi.

I want to stop too, but....I have this gift card...I might get accessories like a scarf or jewelry instead.

That's awesome! Haha.

I need to get a couple more gifts. I should work on that instead of gifts for me all the time.

I like your sushi costume! That's genius!!!

Today I am wearing my Cole Haan Parker tote. I have been rotating through my bags a lot lately. Trying out all my bags I have not worn in a while. This is helping me resist all the sales lately. What are you using today?

The leather look very thick on this bag. Look like it'll withstand anything. :)

I'm still in my Bally Wildhorn. :) I enjoy it so much. The pattern on it is interesting and the color combo is coordinated with each other so well. I feel like it can go with every color. And I'm loving everything about the strap and handles. The only downfall is that I'm filling it too much my neck is hurting. (I think it's the muscle pull somewhere.) I plan to edit the content this weekend.

Still in my Mon Monogram Neverfull! I was going to switch, but it's a bag I'm trying to sell, so I might stay in my Neverfull a little longer.

Even if I don't switch, it's a Longchamp, so lowering cpw on those are so easy.

Enjoy your NF! :) It's a beautiful personalized piece. :)

Hey look! The mailman brought me a Mulberry Bayswater, I wonder how that happened! :p

It's not black really, it's navy blue. It came pre-loved from Yoogi's Closet and it's nearly perfect. There's a couple spots with some minor wear, hardly noticeable at all unless you know to look for it. It's beautiful. I do see how people would say it's heavy, though. And it's a little bigger than what I normally carry, but it's ok. I'm going to be in the market for a new job shortly and this would be fantastic for interviews. :D I'm very happy.

That's one beautiful bag. :) Wear it on good health! :)

Thanks, dcooney4 and bakeacookie! I haven't gotten around to unpacking my camera (or half of my stuff :p) yet, but I'll definitely take pics when I unearth it from my boxes! For now, here's a stock photo of my bag that I found on Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/70791025363122538/ Bought it back when monograms were in style, but I still love the geometric pattern of the C's!
Welcome to the thread! I had this Kristin too. Brought it to a trip and it served its purpose well. I let it go last year because it was rarely used though.

There are 4 I am considering - Cuyana top zip tote, MK jet set top zip tote, Massaccesi Midi Selene and MZ Wallace Paige.
I'm not sure about the size of the Cuyana tote, I have the midi Selene and it is not so big, just medium-sized I would say. But I think both have beautiful leathers!

When I took breaks from revising with my son, I continued with the closet project.
I can happily report that I am 80% happy with what I have. Now on a mission to complete it but not in a hurry. Have learnt to be more patient and wait for the perfect piece.
In fact today I am picking up a scarf that is a perfect shade of purple that matches/complements three tops and one dress!
I am planning to get two just in case I won't find another one in the exact color. At USD7 each, I think it's definitely worth it.

So it was mommy duties that made you temporarily absent here. ;) Glad his exams are over and done with.

That's good about patience. Maybe what I learned about this thread is to be more true to myself, we almost always 'declare' what we buy, so I also have to own up to my purchases. No lame excuses why I got this or why I got that. (Well, actually I do try to look for excuses at times. :graucho:) But at least I get to verbalize my "ins" and if there are so many ins in a row, that becomes a wake up call for me to slow down. And then I really liked it when we posted our collection according to some categories, woke me up from more madness.

Hey guys, here's a question for you -- this year I am really loving the look of the single top-handle bag, especially the Celine trapeze bag. I don't want to spend that much money on it because I KNOW that the style is not practical for my daily life and needs, but I really love it. I was thinking of buying a similar/inspired bag but have gotten to a point where (1) I don't want to spend even a few hundred dollars for a similar style from a contemporary brand, but also (2) I don't to waste money on a poorly made bag just for the style, no matter how inexpensive (mostly because the less expensive you get, you can really start to tell the difference) because I have a very low threshold as to how much (or little) I want to pay... I also know I would ideally love to have it in a calf hair... should I just take the plunge and purchase something in the $100 range and just get over my pining for it? or just forget about it all together?
This is easier said than done, but from my experience, I know I won't really use inspired by items more than 1 or 2 times. Sometimes it is not just the looks of the bag that attract me, it is really the total package - leather, craftmanship, and it may sound shallow, but the truth is, I really look at the name/brand too. I bought a Mulberry small Bayswater (no strap; is that called the mini?) inspired bag at a thrift shop. I used it just ONE time after I bought it. When the excitement wore off, I couldn't get myself to use it again knowing that it is not the real thing.

Aha, time to declare - :shame::blushing: - I had 4 bags in, 1 bag out and 1 slg in. The 4th bag is a Massaccesi group bespoke offered at 20% regular price. Since I really intended to get this bag style either December or January 2016, I joined the group order to avail of the discount. Is that bad? :graucho: And then I am not usually a SLG person, but this was bought very cheap (lame excuse...). It is a Marcj Jacobs pre-loved WOC.

I'm sure DD had a great time and enjoyed being a fairy!! I would have wanted to be a fairy princess. :D

It feels good also to gift our bags sometimes instead of selling. I hope you could find recipients who will enjoy these big bags.

The pebbled Massaccesi leather is not stiff IMO. Maybe at first, but when it softens with use, just as my light grey midi Minerva, I think it looks even more beautiful. My midi Minerva is light grey with silver hardware just as you want! ;) I'm guessing the merinos will be a little more delicate considering it is very soft. The pebbled is thick but not stiff. The size of the midi Minerva is just right for me. You might be surprised when it first arrives, it would seem really big. But I think, over time, when the leather becomes softer and a bit more slouchy, it would not seem enormous anymore. I'm thinking the full size Minerva might be too big? I will post comparison photos of the leathers when I get my merinos midi Soulmate bag.

Glad to hear you are enjoying your Bally! It is a beautiful bag!

You're right. I went looking for an inspired option and found 2 - loved the look of them but I couldn't get over the quality... that is really a tough one for me. Even with the low price, I couldn't bring myself to buy it because the quality isn't there.
