Here's the Riley and the rest of my Coach collection. There's at least one wristlet, maybe two, missing, but most of it is here.

Thanks for the welcome. :)

Really great collection, paculina! Love the way you put the cabinet on the bottom of your closet too!

I have a confession to make. It's just day 5 of the new year and I've already made my first purchase. I said up to 3 purchases only this year, so that just leaves 2 more for 360 days!

I bought a Rebecca Minkoff Nikki in Leaf (green) on ebay today. Well, I actually said no more RMs for a while since I'm already downsizing my huge collection. But this is a color I've wanted a long time and I rarely see this put up for sale, in fact, I only saw it once or 2x in ebay in 1 1/2 years that I was regularly looking. I think this was released around 2009. I got an unused one and I hope it is really in good condition as the seller said. I actually passed up on this listing towards the end of December. But it was relisted, and there, no more holding back! I'm so weak. ;)

Aww, don't be too hard on yourself, msd! Sounds like you really wanted this bag! Looking forward to seeing it!

I pulled out my coach small Kelsey again for today. I am really enjoying this bag. I also switched in to my LV zcp in de. Trying hard to shop my closet. Moisturized a couple bags to remind myself of the lovelies I do have. What are you all using at the moment?

Haven't picked a bag for today yet, dcooney. I did want to tell you that I don't think you're weird for not buying pre-loved yet. I haven't either; I've looked, but the brands I've looked at are still very pricey pre-loved. Maybe I am just not skilled or patient enough. I know that others have gotten gorgeous pre-loved bags!

Save travels home, bake! Can't wait to see Evelyne's debut; I'll be on the edge of my seat when you reveal all your goodies!

I did list 2 bags for sale, last night. May or may not sell of course, but it felt good to make a decision. Bags I like, but rarely use. They deserve to go to someone who will use them! Thanks, thedseer and others for your posts on selling bags. Gave me the nudge I needed to list these!

Mimmy- great job listing more stuff...
I only have one cheap one left that hasn't sold. It may not seem that way but I actually have quite a bit of open space right now from all of last years sales. I am trying very hard not to fill it right back up. I find I am definately stress shopping. I have not bought but I do see the correlation . My friends DH is in critical condition and it has been touch and go the last two days . I keep distracting myself from worring by looking on line when I am not doing something else.

Okay I need to try this. I generally do not make New Years Resolutions but how about a promise to TRY to myself and my husband! Lol. Sorry have to go back where I started this madness.

2012-2013

What happen: quite a few impulse bag purchases - that left me quite discontent.

2014

What happen: Sold a lot of bags and purchased more bags that fit my life style that I Loved! Went better about my bag purchases by researching bags, not buying the first time I saw and watching reviews here and you tube. Very helpful! I started a new trend of looking at a few bags for at least a month before I purchased so this way I would be sure. I'd get a list of bags I was interested in go to the boutique and have them pull all of them out for me to try by putting my things inside and modeling. I eliminated some bags and maybe even added a few more. Left the Boutique to sleep on it a few days. Return again and repeat the same process - leave again empty handed and wait a few days or longer. I look up the bags on You tube, images to see how they look on others, read any reviews I can find, search here of TPF and maybe start a thread to ask questions. Then I go back and make my purchase. I found that the bags I purchased at first glance are the bags I ended up selling - such a waste of money. The bags I research and took time to buy I know are my keepers.

2015

My plan: I finally received my HG bag so not to sure where you go form there! I do however have a great sense of contentment which is a really good feeling. I do not feel the need to buy a bag even though I may peruse the LV sight or see many beautiful reveals here. I have a very well rounded collection and have reached my bag max I set. I have decided that I WILL enjoy the bags I currently have with no plans to make a bag purchase in the year of 2015 and I am going to try my best to not even think about a purchase until this time next year. I made one last purchase Friday for a black MC cles which will be discontinued soon and a red bag charm. So really if I do make a purchase it will be small but I also realize even those purchases add up. So I think this will be my last SLG too. Okay wish me luck and strong resistance as this bag thing can be very dangerous!

Good luck all on your goals as well.

Can't wait to see your collection. Sounds like you have refined it to fit your needs.

Quick grocery store run with my Linea Pelle wristlet wallet, perfect color for gray, ugly weather and great size, even my phone fits in there.
Happy Sunday!

What a great color! I love colorful slgs.

Has anyone made any changes to their closet or other habits to make shopping in your closet more attractive? I sold off a number of bags this past year and now have all my favorite bags in my closet on an organizer shelf where I can see them. It really helps remind me of my options. Also, it seems the fewer bags I have ,the more I feel I have? Does this make any sense at all?

I read a quote that said something to the effect of "the best way to make sure you enjoy your favorite things each day is to only own your favorite things." I find a lot of truth in this.

The last couple months I have been carrying these two bags almost exclusively--my Mansur Gavriel bucket bag and my Longchamp Le Pliage Neo. The LC is a darker blue than pictured--it's really gorgeous. I took it on a trip to Tokyo last month and was the perfect bag. We did a lot of walking and train travel and it was perfect. Now I'm having a hard time changing out between these two--it reminds me that I really don't need that many bags to begin with when I look at what I actually reach for when I head out the door.

BTW--does anyone know why my pics keep rotating? Ugh!

I can see why you can't change out of these two. They are gorgeous!!💙💙💙

Here you go! :D There are two card slots on each side plus a pocket behind them. I keep one card in each slot, but I've read of others in the LV forum that double up the cards. I keep insurance cards in the back pockets since they don't need to be accessed often. I keep my DL and my main bank card in the center slot... makes it super easy to grab them. I keep cash in one of the open pockets and coins in the other. You do have to fold your bills in half... not sure if that would bother you. I don't use cash often, so it's not a big deal for me.

Honestly, this thing could fit a lot more than I have. When I was researching this, I saw a youtube video where a lady put like 50 coins in it and it zipped up. Not that I'd recommend that, but good to know.
Hope this helps!

Also want to add that I've been using this everyday since Nov. and the only sign of wear is on the zipper pull (scratches)... otherwise, it still looks brand new.

Great organization. Glad to hear it's working for you so well.

congrats, he's so cute!!! <3

This might be aa weird suggestion, but do u think getting a pre-loved mz wallace might help? Still the grt bag u love, but if you can get it cheaper and broken in, would it alleviate some of the worries with it? There r some LV bags that I'm contemplating getting preowned for that reason because knowing myself, think I would freak out if I got a scratch on it, but if it's already broken in, somehow I feel it's ok.

Now , you are going to think I am weird but I have never bought a bag preloved. It is something to think about. For tomorrow I am going to try the wristlet idea since I just received one and just carry a bottle of water in my hand. I'm thinking the LC idea or something even cheaper might work. Mz even on the bay are usually well over a hundred but I will look and see. It is a good idea and I thank you for it. I have seen the occasional woman bring an LV to these things but they usually looked pretty grubby.

I think that there is nothing wrong with preloved bag, but seeing it before or able to return is even more important than with new bags as it might have more wear than expected or smell weirdly. I recently bought preowned MZ Wallace, just wanted to try out if the style works for me. It was described as in excellent condition, no smell ... it arrived smelling like camphor...

Dcooney - I can understand you very well. During the years my parents were ill, I bought a lot. It was stress and some kind if yolo feeling. All my fingers crossed that the DH of your friend is better soon!

I'm still in my LC Le Pliage. My Internet is a mess at the Moment so I cannot upload fotos. But I can only highly recommend those bags for your needs. Both of mine are just brown, but once I spilled a whole bowl of chocolate pudding over the large one. It came out fine, just like new.

Again all the best for your friend's DH!

Thanks dcooney! I am sorry to hear about your friend's DH, very stressful. I too stress shop; but this is another thing I am working on.

I think you bring up an important point Tuuli; the pre-loved bags I was looking at were online with NO returns! I have a problem with weird smells, were you able to get rid of the odor?

I am sure there is nothing wrong with preloved I just do not feel confident in doing it. Did you get the camphor smell out?

Beautiful collection and welcome!

The BV is sitting in a box in my hallway, waiting to be sent back. The pillow is a perfect style, but the color didn't make my heart sing. So I will bite the bullet and get one from the current collection (aka not on sale) sometime in spring.
No need to hurry though, I will be in NYC end of the month but trecking around with DD so I will be in need for a bigger bag to carry our gloves, scarves and hats when we are indoors.

To make up for this I got a bag from the Burberry sale last night... It's a small tote in fabric and black leather, I am very curious and excited!

And a member recommended Wink and Winn in another thread - boy it is fun to play around designing your very own bag! Sorry, no enabling intended here :smile1:

Wow good for you Stansy!! I will have to check that site out too, I would love to see what I could come up with :)

There was a question about closets by TejasMama. I actually spent a good part of yesterday sorting my closet. One of my issues with both clothes and bags is out of sight, out of mind. So I wanted to make sure I could see everything so I could make sure to wear and use everything. I cleared out a bunch of clutter that was making half the closet difficult to access, I repurposed a piece of furniture from the room and I rearranged some stuff. It's not perfect, but I'm a lot happier with it and I'm hoping it's going to function a little better for me.

As you can see, I took a tall media cabinet I had in the room and turned it on its side so that I have a table and a little extra storage. I had stacked some containers there before and it created a small surface to put things on, and I discovered I really liked having that there. Wasn't really sure if I was brilliant or inviting disaster with the cabinet solution, but it seems to work.

That clear plastic drawer on the right has my camis and tank tops in it, a solution I was pleased to discover via Google since it saves some hangers and hanging space. The basket in the middle has my wristlets. And the left end has some sweaters that the instructions specifically say not to hang. Both of those still have tags on them, so they're on my list to make sure to wear this year.

And of course you see some of my bags on the bottom shelf and up on the top of the closet. The box on the top shelf has the bags that can lay flat (ie Coach Bleecker Daily) and 2 MK minis.

And some of my shoes. My boots are on the floor on the other side of the closet. Still haven't really found a good solution for those.

Also, I have a LOT of clothes. The closet is getting close to full already and I still have a whole laundry load's worth of clothes to put in there.

That was such a creative idea, I really like it! I like the plastic drawers for tanks and camis I may have to try that one!

Its ok msd, don't be to hard on yourself. That was my goal to and I bought a bag before the end of December, but I am counting it into my total. So you and I can work really hard on not buying more than 2 bags this year :) we can do it!

I think you are doing a great job organizing. I found I could add space by using plastic cubes that I that can fit two or three bags in them and on top of them . I put these cubes on the top shelves in my closet. The ones that go on top of the cubes and bit harder to reach are right now the summer bags. This system works well for me.

That looks great dc!

I listed/relisted a few things this weekend, and shipped off a small item that I sold (for a bit more than I expected). Still have one thing off at consignment-may talk to them about lowering the price. I should get paid for the consignment item that sold 12/31 sometime this week. So I feel productive with sales. Probably have 3-4 more bags I should list. If I sell everything, and keeping in mind my planned purchases for the year, that should put me at or close to my 12 bag goal by the end of the year.

That's brilliant :)
