This might be aa weird suggestion, but do u think getting a pre-loved mz wallace might help? Still the grt bag u love, but if you can get it cheaper and broken in, would it alleviate some of the worries with it? There r some LV bags that I'm contemplating getting preowned for that reason because knowing myself, think I would freak out if I got a scratch on it, but if it's already broken in, somehow I feel it's ok.

That's awesome!

I think, this is a good idea! I own a vegetable tanned leather bag (just like the handles of the LV canvas bags) and I was very careful using it as long as it looked brand new. As soon as a colleague got some biro markings on it, I relaxed and enjoyed using the bag. 😉

Welcome to the group! Love to the see the Riley. This group is amazing and so very supportive. Please share your goodies you have in your closet!

Here's the Riley and the rest of my Coach collection. There's at least one wristlet, maybe two, missing, but most of it is here.

Thanks for the welcome. :)

The BV is sitting in a box in my hallway, waiting to be sent back. The pillow is a perfect style, but the color didn't make my heart sing. So I will bite the bullet and get one from the current collection (aka not on sale) sometime in spring.
No need to hurry though, I will be in NYC end of the month but trecking around with DD so I will be in need for a bigger bag to carry our gloves, scarves and hats when we are indoors.

To make up for this I got a bag from the Burberry sale last night... It's a small tote in fabric and black leather, I am very curious and excited!

And a member recommended Wink and Winn in another thread - boy it is fun to play around designing your very own bag! Sorry, no enabling intended here :smile1:

There was a question about closets by TejasMama. I actually spent a good part of yesterday sorting my closet. One of my issues with both clothes and bags is out of sight, out of mind. So I wanted to make sure I could see everything so I could make sure to wear and use everything. I cleared out a bunch of clutter that was making half the closet difficult to access, I repurposed a piece of furniture from the room and I rearranged some stuff. It's not perfect, but I'm a lot happier with it and I'm hoping it's going to function a little better for me.

As you can see, I took a tall media cabinet I had in the room and turned it on its side so that I have a table and a little extra storage. I had stacked some containers there before and it created a small surface to put things on, and I discovered I really liked having that there. Wasn't really sure if I was brilliant or inviting disaster with the cabinet solution, but it seems to work.

That clear plastic drawer on the right has my camis and tank tops in it, a solution I was pleased to discover via Google since it saves some hangers and hanging space. The basket in the middle has my wristlets. And the left end has some sweaters that the instructions specifically say not to hang. Both of those still have tags on them, so they're on my list to make sure to wear this year.

And of course you see some of my bags on the bottom shelf and up on the top of the closet. The box on the top shelf has the bags that can lay flat (ie Coach Bleecker Daily) and 2 MK minis.

And some of my shoes. My boots are on the floor on the other side of the closet. Still haven't really found a good solution for those.

Also, I have a LOT of clothes. The closet is getting close to full already and I still have a whole laundry load's worth of clothes to put in there.

Thank you so much thedseer! Not to go totally off topic but after the passing of our dog, DH and I were able to rescue a dog from a shelter a few months ago and we just love him to pieces! It has definitely helped with the grief. The shelter told us he was 4 years old, but the vet thinks he's just over a year. Nobody is certain as to what kind he is, but it doesn't really matter to us! Here's our new addition :)

He's adorable! I love dogs esp rescue mutts. They are the best!!! Thanks for sharing.

True to my resolutions for this year I have been thinking about my Prada Saffiano tote a lot and as much as I love it I just don't use it and wish I'd bought a larger zipped model now. So I took the bag to a consignment shop today and it's with them now, hopefully it will get a good offer. I will disappointed if not. Anyway...to fill the gaps that I have I have bought myself one of the bags I said I would; a Longchamp Le Pliage in Amethyst. It was on sale at a jewellery store which also sells Mont Blanc and Smythson...it was actually cheaper than the sale price currently on the Longchamp website :) Have already used today, the picture is taken with some parcels in that I took to the post office. Have also been wardrobe purging :)

I love your amethyst LC. Love purple 💜💜💜. Good luck with the Prada.

Bake - good idea to look for a brooch or something small instead if you must buy Chanel. I couldn't remember the Aspinal name but that's what came to mind when you mentioned the WOC. I know not the same but almost the same size. Perhaps the WOC could be your next trip's purchase and keep to the idea of the Mon Mono since that was on your list for forever. I think it will mean more to you than the WOC because the WOC is almost an afterthought to your Evelyne. I hate all the price increases. Boo!

Cupcake - thank you! I'm so happy with her and have been using her since. We are all chatty Cathie's here aren't we!! :). Love the LP. Love to see how they are housed!

Ebby - I just LOVE this color.

Ladies you are all killing me with the Longchamps! I don't think I'll get through another year not getting one. They look like great bags. Jenny - I like the idea of it being a workout bag too. Maybe it will be my reward after my next half marathon at the end of March. I need to seriously train, so not a trail runner.

Still in my Stam but will be moving into something else tmw to celebrate my LO's first birthday. It will be the bag my DH got after she was born. Can't today since I'd clash. :) reminds me I need to take a mod shot of the Stam out and about.

Thanks everyone for your replies on how you store your bags. After searches and searches I saw so many closets with the bags out of their dust bags and all I can think of the poor dust sitting on some of them.

Hope you and your LO had a great birthday!!🎂🎂. This may be the year of the LC for you if you don't already have one. You will get so much use out of it since it's so carefree.

I am 5' 9" . I am open to other dressier crossbody options as well. My main requirements are that it is comfortable on the shoulder and easy to take care of and use. I do not want buy anything yet. I want to think about it for a while. Half the time I think the research is more fun then the actual purchase or the hunt. Do you enjoy researching bags and finding them at a decent price or are you more into instant gratification when you buy bags?

Good idea to take your time with the purchase. We will be here to help you along the way😉. Besides you still have 360 days left to decide. Lol

I like researching bags but when I research too long, I get impatient and need instant gratification.

Been carrying my speedy b a lot since it's effortless or a crossbody.

I'm really enjoying reading everyone's thoughts and goals for the year ahead, I brought quite a lot last year without much though as to what I really needed (I don't NEED anything) and to be honest I'm feeling abit flat and bored of thinking where's the next purchase coming from what sales bargins can I find! It's exhausting, so I've made a list of things for this year.

Chanel cerf

Ysl chyc

Mulberry willow

Alexander McQueen scarf

LV neverfull

Tiffany arrow bracelet

Black jeans

Simple!! I do need a small clutch for evening and a new purse but the items above have been spinning round my head for ages, it's good to have a list to work too and (try) to stick too, I'm good at clearing my. Wardrobe but to be honest I still don't like what I have, I'm thinking of getting my colours done and having a style day ect to sort me out!!

Not sure if I've contributed to your thread or just rambled on, feels good to have it all written down though

Sent from my iPhone using PurseForum

Welcome and great list.

I have a confession to make. It's just day 5 of the new year and I've already made my first purchase. I said up to 3 purchases only this year, so that just leaves 2 more for 360 days!

I bought a Rebecca Minkoff Nikki in Leaf (green) on ebay today. Well, I actually said no more RMs for a while since I'm already downsizing my huge collection. But this is a color I've wanted a long time and I rarely see this put up for sale, in fact, I only saw it once or 2x in ebay in 1 1/2 years that I was regularly looking. I think this was released around 2009. I got an unused one and I hope it is really in good condition as the seller said. I actually passed up on this listing towards the end of December. But it was relisted, and there, no more holding back! I'm so weak. ;)

A big welcome to all the new people! So excited that the group is much bigger! More support to meet our goals!

I'm thinking to reorganize my closet again so everything is visible. I have limited space so I have to be creative in my storage.

Currently there's a small shelf for half my bags, with SLGs are on the bottom in a repurposed LV box. I keep my bigger, structured bags on the top shelf, but I am not happy with it as it doesn't utilize all the space there.

I'll have to update my stylebook closet to reflect my new purchases, and remove the items I've taken out. This makes it easy to remember what I have.

Second to last day in London! In a week I'll be back at work. Lol. I kind of miss my routine, strangely enough. And as much as I love my Burberry bag, I want to use my Evelyne and I can't do that until I'm back home. Lol

Thanks! I may end up getting it soon, in DE, depending on how my sales go/when the price increase is. I usually don't carry too many cards, plus I will probably still carry my BV coin purse for business cards or something. So I think the zcp would work!

Zcp is a great wallet. I have one in vernis.

Omg I am the same. My husband says I become a shopping zombie!!!

Me too!

I love that we can help each other stay on track. I used to run a lot but dropped off last August. Now I have to be strict to get back into it. It's what I do start get into a habit.

I love the research and hunt for the bag more. I actually researched the Pashli since last summer and it sat on the back burner. When I was cruising my Nordstrom wishlist I noticed one of the ones I liked when on super sale and decided to hunt it down. I'm so happy I got it but I have yet to pull it out. Maybe in a few weeks I will.

Hmmm.... I am pretty good at rotating to coordinate. I tend to have lot of top handles. I switch out pretty often now since I feel guilty not using bags. But if I have to pick the easiest bag, it would be a crossbody since half the time I'm holding a kid or holding hands with kids. But the style of bag I want to carry the most is a satchel.

For me, no. They are cute but the only backpack I have is a Jansport for day trips so DH can carry snacks. And even then I think DH took it over for when he goes swimming. I don't think I could pull it off.

Welcome and we're here to help. I used to buy on a whim but after last year with these lovely ladies I started to really think about my purchases.

Going to have to go check out the ZCPs next time I'm at the mall... I want a compact and a bigger wallet.

Went shopping today and didn't buy a bag or wallet. Had a lot of opportunities but none of them were just right. Got a few necessities like tank tops from the Rack and jammies that I will keep. I did get two tops but DH didn't like how they looked and once I took my designer mask off I realized he was right. Who cares if I saved 90%, if it doesn't look good I don't want it.

Isn't it funny how it's so easy to justify things with designer goggles on, especially when it's on sale!! Glad you realized it really wasn't your style.

:D Day 4 of this wonderful new year - shopping from my collection and using my beloved ivory Chloe today:

View attachment 2850737

Beautiful Chloe and outfit!

That must have been hard. The bayswater are so pretty. I have a longchamp veau foulonne bag. I used it quite a bit in summer, but I bought a light weight organizer to go in it. The cuir leather is pretty but I tend to like things that hold their shape more. Both of these leathers though are super light weight. Here is a photo of mine. The color is called Oak.

Every time I see this bag, I am reminded I need more brown bags because the color is gorgeous.

Right now, it's the Chanel Shiva Flap I posted earlier. Mainly because I know it goes with everything, from jeans to work outfit to party dress plus it's already packed up and ready to go. Love that I can wear it crossbody, too.
I really must start rotating my bags. The Saint Laurent has yet to be used - it's so pretty I keep taking it out of the dustbag to admire it but that's as far as I've got! This may sound insane but for as long as it remains unused, I feel I have a new bag and it's easier to resist buying another one. Lol it's madness.

If it works for you, then it's not madness!

Bayswaters are wayyy to heavy for me, too. I'm dreaming of the Small Bayswater right now. I tested it in store already. Not heavy and big enough for me ☺️

I'm thinking of the leather Pliages to. But I would want one with crossbody option - and I don't like that the strap is not adjustable as far as I've seen. I'm tall and I like to vary the lenght of the shoulder strap.

I agree that LC REALLY needs to make adjustable straps on their bags.

Ok , I did not think about the fact that the new bag I returned actually was to serve the purpose of going to sporting events and being able to hold up to serious abuse. The new bag I bought is to pretty and I don't want to chance it being knocked on to the floor by someone getting up and down in the bleachers. So today I will be bringing my Mz Wallace Baby Jane in charcoal luster with me. I'm sure this bag can handle it but I hate bringing anything much over a hundred dollars to these things. Here a picture of her. What do you use for these kind of events?

I would carry my LC tote or a canvas kick around bag because I need to carry snacks, water and a sweater when going to kid sport activities.

I think you are doing a great job organizing. I found I could add space by using plastic cubes that I that can fit two or three bags in them and on top of them . I put these cubes on the top shelves in my closet. The ones that go on top of the cubes and bit harder to reach are right now the summer bags. This system works well for me.

Now , you are going to think I am weird but I have never bought a bag preloved. It is something to think about. For tomorrow I am going to try the wristlet idea since I just received one and just carry a bottle of water in my hand. I'm thinking the LC idea or something even cheaper might work. Mz even on the bay are usually well over a hundred but I will look and see. It is a good idea and I thank you for it. I have seen the occasional woman bring an LV to these things but they usually looked pretty grubby.

I have a few that are of similar styles so I technically can let those 'extras' go but I'm a bit attached at the moment. I'd like to get a little more variety so if I let those go and get the zcp it would serve 2 purposes - minimize and get a good mix. We'll see, I'm in no hurry right now.

I use crossbody bags and never put them down, or just a reusable grocery bag but the better quality kind that r a bit more sturdier.

from the sounds of it, it seems like you're in good shape to reach ur goal!

I think so too thanks!
